Work Text:
Charlie was very rapidly growing understimulated.
Pretty much everyone was out of the Hotel, and Charlie didn't have anything to fill her time with.
It was too quiet, and she felt herself getting extremely restless.
So, naturally, she went to Vaggie, who was working on spreadsheets on her laptop in the lobby.
"Vaggieeeeeeee" she whined. "I'm boreddddddddd"
"I'm busy at the moment" Vaggie replied gently. "Sorry, babe. Maybe see if Pentious needs help with anything"
At this apparent rejection, Charlie felt as though someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over her. She muttered an apology and wandered off, going up to their room to cry.
As the hours passed and the Hotel became alive with activity again, Vaggie couldn't help but notice how closed off the princess was from her, but she didn't comment on it just yet, so as to avoid conflict.
That evening, though, as the pair got ready for bed, Vaggie couldn't take it anymore.
"What's going on with you?" she asked cautiously.
"I don't know what you mean" Charlie deflected, avoiding looking at her girlfriend. Vaggie frowned.
"Come on, babe" she sighed. "You've been off all day"
"Why do you care?" Charlie snapped suddenly, turning to face the other woman. Tears were gathering at her eyes, but she pushed on, even as her throat grew tight from emotion. "You're too busy for me anyway!"
"...Is this about earlier?" Vaggie asked carefully. Charlie seemingly realized that she'd snapped and visibly deflated.
"I'm sorry" she apologized, beginning to cry now. "It wasn't a big deal, I don't know why I'm reacting this way"
"It's okay" Vaggie soothed. "For the record, I'm never 'too busy' for you. I'm sorry if I made you feel otherwise"
"And I'm sorry for snapping" Charlie breathed. "...Hug?"
"Of course"
