Chapter Text

This was a fresh start, Trinas first year at college. She wasen't lucky enough to get her own room, infact, she was supposed to have two roommates. She didn't know how on earth they were supposed to fit 3 girls comfortablely in one of the tight dormrooms, but she didn't complain. She didn't want to be rude.

Trina took a deep breath before stepping into her dorm room. It wasen't what she expected to say the least. Well, to be fair, she didn't know what to expect in the first place.

There was one girl, already completely unpacked and laying on her bed on her stomach with her legs swaying in the air. Her bed was against the wall in the middle of the room, with a small window right above the bed. She was reading a book, which looked like a cookbook odd as it is, but Trina wasen't one to judge.

On the left, against the wall was another bed that was also clearly taken already. There was a small desk at the end of it, already covered in medical textbooks and education posters on the wall. The girl was sitting there, hovering over a thick textbook, already highlighting stuff.

Trina took another step inside, the place was small, but nice. And there girls seemed nice enough. What were their names again? Charlotte and Coraline? No, that's not it. Cordelia. She was positive it was Cordelia. Well, at least almost positive.

One of the girls looked up, the one reading the cookbook. She smiled brightly at the sight of Trina, a gentle look in her eyes.

Before Trina could even process it the girl was standing in front of her, basically jumping with excitement. "Hi! I'm Cordelia! You're Trina right? This is Charlotte. We are obviously your new roommates and I can't wait to get to know you!"

It was only then that Charlotte looked up from her textbook. She turned to face Trina and Cordelia, a clearly fake annoyed expression on her face. "Give her some space, Cordelia. You haven't even let the poor girl get a word in yet for heavens sake. At least let her unpack before you talk her ear off."

Trina laughed quietly at that, finally getting the chance to get a word in "Well, I'm Trina, but I think you know that already. I see you guys are settled in already."

"Yeah, we saved you the bed on the right. We weren't quite sure which one you would prefer but if you want the one in the middle I'm totally chill with switching" This girl really does talk a lot. Thought Trina, poor Charlotte, hopefully she's able to get in some studying with how much noise it is.

After a moment of awkward silence Trina responded, realising that she may have been a little lost in thought. "Oh, no it's alright. I'm fine with that bed. Plus I wouldnt want you to have to move all your stuff around again"

Cordelia seemed satisfied with that response, collapsing back onto her bed and laying on her back. She picked her cookbook back up, holding it in the air above her head as she began to read quietly.

Trina took this as a chance to unpack. She made her bed, hiding her comfort stuffed animal behind her pillows. She didn't want the others to think she was a baby.

Finally, everything was unpacked and felt a bit more like home. It was already evening by this point, the sun already starting to set. Trina sat down on her bed and layed down, staring at the ceiling for a moment, just thinking.

She was awfully exited for college, and even better, Marvin was also here. They had been in a relationship since mid junior year. Marvin was always so kind and loving. Unlike other people's boyfriends he didn't pressure her into doing things she didn't like, he was understanding when she needed space, and he even would even give her small random gifts. Sure, recently he had been acting a bit different but she was sure that it was just for the stress of starting college, I mean, who wouldn't be nervous. They had been with each other through thick and thin, she told him things about herself that she had never told anyone. Marvin was a good listener, not just good, he was great. He would also occasionally talk about his personal life with her. It seemed like they really had a strong relationship, maybe even a future together.

She didn't know how long she laid there, but it was a decent while. Eventually, she pulled herself out of bed, grabbing pajamas to change into. It was already a bit past eight, and that was usually the time Trina began to settle for bed.

She saw that the blond haired girl had ditched her bed and book, settling on Charlottes bed instead. Trina couldn't help but smile, they seemed like good friends.

Trina sat back down on the bed after getting changed. She let out a quiet sigh as she layed down, resting her head on her pillow. The other two seemed to get the hint that she was going to bed and quieted their conversation. She was thankful for that, she had always been a light sleeper.

Maybe college wouldn't be so bad.

It didn't take long for her to fall asleep, already comfortable in the new environment.

Notes:

Also i already feel bad for Trina, I have so much planned for her 🥹❤️
