April 4 1986 (Friday)
The last day of Jason Carver's funeral and Chance Lawson started to get ready for the service. Chance went to his home after school as soon as possible with his car later he park it in front of his front yard and arrived early then he went to prepare the stuff he will bring to funeral home, he went to the kitchen fridge to get his ube cupcakes that he bake a few days ago then he put them on a tray then wrapped them with tinfoil. Chance went to his room upstairs to get his clothes he ironed last night from his closet a long sleeve polo shirt with buttons, a pair of tailored black pants and a black trench coat later he put them down his bed, he went to his bathroom to get a light shower. After he showered then dress up he went back down the kitchen to see his baby twin sisters eating his cupcakes.
"Layla and Lana stop eating those. Those are for Jason's funeral" he scolded his sisters with an annoyed tone.
"But Kuya Chance you have plenty of cupcakes, can you spare some for us? pretty please?" Layla retorted back to her brother.
Chance begun to respond "No! and the both of you have been eating to much sweets recently. Mom and Dad are going to kill me if they both found that the two of you have cavities".
"Kuya naman, It's because your baking a lot of sweets this past few days and it's not our fault you food is tasty." Lana replied back to her while licking her fingers then trying to get another cup cake but her hand got slapped by Chance.
Chance carried the tray of cupcakes off the kitchen table later put it down to the living room table.
"The reason why I'm baking a lot is because a lot funerals I'm being invited for this past few days is for formality guys. Plus the both of you are not going to funerals for your friends, this is for the families and friends to help grief easily" Chance stated to his sisters.
Chance announces something importing to his sisters "Max is going to be here in a few minutes and please please behave. She's been through a lot for this past few weeks after being a coma and have to learn to walk is stressful enough, don't add more stress, and lastly don't be rowdy with Max ,cause she's still using crutches."
"We'll be good with Ate Max when she arrives". Lana replied to her brother's statement. "What's for dinner Kuya ? I hope you cooked something delicious for us." Layla asked her brother.
Dingdong the doorbell rang before Chance could reply to Layla. "It's Max, she's here." Chance stated then he went to open the door for Max. Max quickly entered the door as Chance opened the door "Sup Chance I'm here, sorry I took long to get here having one working leg for now sucks for walking." Max said to Chance. "Don't worry about that it's great your doing okay Max." Chance replied back to Max. "Thanks Chance and don't worry about the twins , I know my way with kids." Max confidently expressed her babysitting skills to Chance. "I know Max your my trusted babysitter, I'll help you walk to the couch" Chance replied back to Max.
Chance assisted Max as she walks to the living room by guiding her to the couch as she sits down after that Max took a cupcake on the tray. "Really Max? Really?" Chance with an annoyed tone. "What ? I thought the cupcakes is our snacks" Max replied back then chewed the cupcake. Chance still annoyed utter "No, the cupcakes are not your snacks. This for Jason's funeral, I only bake a few for the funeral for Jason's family and the team." Max reply back "Fine Chance, I hope you have something for us to eat. You're food is so tasty."
"I've made some mac n cheese last night, it's in the ref just oven it." Chance voiced out. "Ref? Chance what's that?" Max questioned Chance. Lana answered Max. "It's the fridge Ate Max we call the ref because our mom kept calling it that. "Really? that's kinda unusual." Max voiced out with confusion. "I'll be going na and I'll back late at night so Max you can sleep here if I took long to get back before sometime around 10 or 11 pm and you can lock the door I brought my keys." Chance announced to the girls.
He carried the tray to the backseat of his car that he parked in front yard of their house. He starts his car as he open the driver sit then he waves goodbye to his sisters and Max then he drive to funeral home. As Chance drives through the road he began to reminisce his early days of Hawkins before the weird shit he went through.

3 and a half weeks before the school year begins Chance and his family have recently moved to Hawkins, Indiana, the hometown of his grandfather. He remembered the announcement of the move was quite a shocking thing for Chance and sisters especially from their parents. Chance knew his Mom and Dad but moving from New York to a small town is a big change for the siblings. It was sometime nearing the last days of school and the early days of summer the three found out what their parents were planning in their penthouse living room, the twins were somewhat excited for the move because it's a new place for them to explore but for Chance the move is a big deal for him because he's born and raised in New York and he can't help to imagine what boring things what Hawkins could offer him. The only things he knew about the town was it has no clubs he can sneak into, no 5 star restaurants he could eat at, just some diners and fast food chains, and lastly he has to say goodbye to his friends in New York. The friends he grew up with, spent times in the country club, sneaking together in theaters and nightclubs, watching theater plays together, no more flying in private jets with his friends. To make matters worse has to say goodbye to the family penthouse, the place he grew up because his parents are selling it. Chance tried his best to persuade his parents that he could live in New York alone by showing how responsible he is by being independent but his parents won't budge and he had to comply to his new life in boring, snoozefest Hawkins, Indiana. His life is now ruined he believed. His parents told him his overdramatic and he should be more optimistic about moving a new place.
During the family meeting about the announcement his parents gave their reasons about why they're moving. Number one is for their older brothers that's studying in Purdue University in Indiana, it's easy for them to visit the family if they were in the same state not worrying about flights, they could just drive to Hawkins. Number two the patriarch Lionel Lawson their father recently talk to his grandpa and uncles, aunts about taking ownership with the Indiana base state of their accounting firm and also moving to Hawkins, Indiana with renovating grandpa's old house with their mother Diane who would be be renovating, designing and other things with her property developers in Indiana for which they agreed with their own family meeting. Number three, the most important reason why of the moving is to get away from the aids epidemic that's plaguing New York, his mom and dad are getting worried with how many of people getting infected and dying by that fag virus with New York having a lot of reported cases and people dying in faster rate. The move is for their safety they said so they couldn't get infected by those queers for witch Chance hated but he had to understand because it's for his and his sisters wellbeing.
The time for renovating their new house would take some time announced by their mother who will be moving and staying first than her family with her things already pack so the Lawson siblings could spend their summer break in New York. Chance loved that he had some time to stay in New York despite being short , it's better than none he thought so he went talked to his friends about his family going to move to a small town. They we're sad, shocked and felt pity for Chance to move from the big apple to nowhere so they went and planned many things for Chance's last days in New York with parties and other things so his last summer would be memorable which it was even without partying his summer was still the best because he recently got his black belt in karate after 8 years of practicing it and he played a lot of basketball games with his friends in the country club, Chance felt great with his time but all good things must come to an end. The day of moving his family's stuff arrived with him, siblings and his dad left their family penthouse for last time with it's empty interior making Chance feel sad. The moving truck is now full of their belongings and with his brothers going to drive from New York to Indiana with their cars, him and his dad with sisters are going to take a flight.
The day of their arrival they've been welcomed by their Mother in Fort Wayne being excited and happy her family just arrived into their new life. Less than two or three hours since they landed the Lawsons waited for Chase and Chad to arrived to the airport for which they did and picked them up then drive them to Hawkins. The time they've arrived to their new house Chance felt something he was happy for this big mansion his family had and he could host some parties secretly here but there was something wrong with this town he felt in the atmosphere. Many people in their neighborhood stared at them murmuring about something he only heard some snippets about they should leave already cause this town is haunted or something else. He ignored it cause his family are too busy with moving their stuff and he should be doing the same. The day after they officially moved his parents surprised him with a car so he could drive it with his new license he received 4 days before they moved, he was so happy that the day he got his car he went joyriding through Hawkins to see something cool and exciting things he could enjoy here but it's just a small boring town with a bunch of boring small town with regular stuff that's so boring it doesn't have a place where he could get buy designer he fully believed his in hell, a boring lower class hell until he saw a burned down building that looks like a mall ? He didn't think of it and just drive back home. He felt excruciating boredom with only a few weeks left in his summer break and he didn't do anything exciting in Hawkins and misses New York so bad then his parents on a random Sunday just announced they'll be going to church. Chance thought of it as nothing because his family are somewhat religious and they do go to church sometimes. The Lawson arrived to church and we're greeted kindly by the people and after the service his dad met Mister Carver and his family, the two men started talking about some business stuff and his mom started talking Mrs Carver about mom stuff and he caught the eye of Jason Carver and his girlfriend Chrissy Cunningham.
"You're the new kid, Am I right?" Jason asked
"Yup. The name's Chance."
"Hello and welcome Chance to Hawkins, one of the best places you'll ever be" Chrissy voiced with so much joy.
Chance scoffed with the statement and gave a side eye to Chrissy "Really? It's much better in New York than this boring place in the world and believe me i've seen boring places like Staten Island."
Chrissy and Jason we're shocked with Chance's statement "Well Chance your just a newbie here. You'll get more excited what Hawkins to offer than New York" Chrissy replied back to Chance's comment.
"Really? I hope there's a country club here to give this town some class. Maybe a nightclub too cause I need to party with loud music."
"A country club? " Jason with a confused tone uttered " We don't have that here just a community building." replied back to Chance. "We don't have a nightclub here because the town doesn't think it's necessary to add it here" Chrissy said.
"Wow! this place is really boring. No mall, No movie theater. What does this town have that's not boring? It's to middle class for me. Does this town offer something than boring and cheap stuff here." Chance muttered with a bored face with an eyeroll. Diane his mother and his father Lionel heard their son's complaints feeling embarrassment while the both of look Jason and Chrissy showed some distain with Chance's comment.
"Chance Roman Perez Lawson! stop complaining already about Hawkins." His mother scolded him ending her conversation with Mrs Carver.
"Mom! Don't use my full name in this place plus it's true Hawkins is a really boring place." Chance with an annoyed tone responded to his mother. Diane put her hand on her head then sighed loudly.
"Chance my dear boy just because Hawkins is not like New York you shouldn't like it. Hawkins has a lot to offer than that the big apple." His father responded to him trying to cheer his son and trying to make a good impression to the Carver family
Chance said in a annoyed and bored voice "Whatever" with his eyes rolling over and went to a seat then took his walkman out of his pocket to listen some music.
"Sorry about that our Kuya Chance is quite snob" Lana apologized to Chrissy and Jason.
"I'm not a snob, I have refined tastes, Okay. " Chance answered back top his sister.
"Sorry about that my son is not used to the small town life his a city kid, he would just play basketball in the backyard if we didn't let him out once in a while" Lionel said to the Carver family.
"Chance likes play to basketball. Lucky for him I'm the team Captain of our team in school" Jason mentioned to Lionel.
Lionel and Diane had an idea together as they look towards to their bored son "Anak, Me and dad want to talk to you" Diane said to her son.
Chance then took his walkman off his head and asked " What? " he asked to his parents. "We found out Jason likes to play basketball and his the team captain of their school" Lionel answered to his son with a enthusiastic voice. "So?" Chance asks his parents again with a somewhat annoyed tone. "This your chance to make new friends anak, You could hang out with them and explore new things here Hawkins." Diane explained to her son with a soft tone. Chance thought about it I don't have anything interesting to do might as well do it. "Fine, I'll hang out with with them tomorrow." Chance said to his parents. His parents smiled at his willingness to make friends and then Lionel talked Jason about it. Jason then gave an address for Chance for their hangout "This is the best place here in Hawkins".
Tomorrow came and Chance drove his way to an abandoned dinner Jesus Christ that place looks shit he said in his mind. He went to the door then knocked it. A boy with a cap opened it "Uhm are you lost? and who are you?" he asked to Chance. "No. I'm Chance, Jason invited me to this decrepit place' Chance replied to cap wearing boy. "You're the snob Jason mentioned? Wow! I didn't think you'll get here." The cap wearing boy said while Chance look at him with an annoyed face.
"Andy let Chance it already" Jason shouted inside. Chance went in with a box of banana bread he baked last night. "So this is the best place here Hawkins an abandoned diner. Is this town really poor?" Chance uttered to Jason with a disdain voice.
"Well Chance not everything is gonna high class for you. At least there's a place to hang out." Jason replied to Chance's comment. "Everyone this the new kid Chance Perez-Lawson" Jason announced to the team with glee.
"Hi Chance and you look great in that outfit and I'm Patrick by the way." Patrick greeted Chance then offered a handshake that Chance politely returned. "This some tasty bread you have Lawson." a member of the team shouted.
"Jason told us that you're from the big apple, we're kinda curious of what's like in a big city." Andy trying to make a conversation with Chance. "Living in New York is really great because a lot great places like the Broadway avenue with having a lot musicals, great and tasty restaurants in different streets...." Chance went on his stories in his time living in New York telling his escapades with his rich friends like the years that all of them had to go get etiquette lessons or the time the snuck in the nightclub, Chance felt great having to share his things to new people then the others did the same about living here in Hawkins they mentioned a lot of things like a recent surge of kids getting missing Chance shrugged it off because in New York a lot of people get missing or the town is cursed because the strange things happening for the past few years they've been seeing scary creatures with a flower head that has a lot of teeth Chance laughed it off because that's not real he thought but the others have been warning him not to go out of night because of the monsters, he still laughed it off because he thought the team we're playing a joke on him but he still felt they we're serious for his safety so he promised in their joke. The stories of the team's lives felt welcoming to Chance because a lot of their lives is quite down to earth even Jason one the rich kids here, Chance found it endearing. After summer break Chance started to hang out more with the team including Chrissy her presence in the times they've hang out was warm and happy, they've been friends instantly during the first days of school her full of life nature rubbed Chance in a good way because he sees her as big sister he never had. Her enthusiasm, her energetic vibes we're great to the team and her friends, her and Jason we're a match made in heaven he felt great stuff in his time hanging out with them. He became more close to Andy and Patrick, Andy with his antics he laughed at him and with him, Patrick being a nice kid is refreshing for Chance that he asked his parents if he could plan Patrick's birthday in their house, they agreed and invited his new friends and bake a delicious cake for them. The night was full of joy for them and Chance with his new friends were happy, he hope it would never end until a tragic event ended it. Chrissy's death hit them hard because it was unexpected. The police talked to Jason only to tell them of what happened after they've talked, Jason looked a shell of his former self. He broke down in front of them and during his wails he told about of what happened to Chrissy everyone was heartbroken but Jason, Andy, Patrick felt hurt it by the most because the 4 of them have been friends since they were kids, all four of them went to church together and now they had to go to church for Chrissy's funeral instead of the same Sunday mass. After the funeral Chance, Andy, Patrick, and Jason went back to Benny's to get some of Chrissy's stuff that she left during her stays in the dinner Jason's was an emotional wreck.
"Why was Chrissy at Eddie Munson's trailer park?" Andy questioned with disbelief and shocked in hus tone. "I don't anything about Chrissy hanging out with that drug addict but how she died is weird though, I feel she got cursed and they way she died is not normal guys." Patrick trying to answer Andy's question with fear in his.
Chance tried to hide his groan from the group but was unsuccessful "Sorry about that. Patrick this is not time with the rambling about curses or whatever conspiracy you guys talk about. It's getting on my nerves already and stop it, okay. Like why do all of you keep saying this town is haunted or has some satanic shit happening here? All of you always keep mentioning it, why though?" Chance with an annoyed tone asks the other 3.
"Chance have you not been listening to us? This town is really haunted" Patrick in hysterics countering Chance's question. "Dear god Patrick can you please stop this believing in this fantasy crap? You're 16 not a kid anymore" Chance completely annoyed clapped back to Patrick. "Chance we've been telling about things this town has like demon with flower heads, demonic dogs with flower heads and many strange shit like magnets stop being magnetic" Andy being scared answered back to Chance. "Andy, this is no the time for your jokes and I hope you and the other guys become more serious with this." Chance still feeling irritated groaned to Andy. "I think Patrick's right. Eddie might have some connection with hell" Jason still crying agreed with Patrick's statement. "Great. Jason is now joining in the bullshit nonsense" Chance sighed. "You don't get it Chance ever since a boy went missing in 1983 this town went to hell. The boy I mentioned was found dead in lover's lake, Barbara Holland, Mr and Mrs Holland's only daughter went missing too and she was also found dead in the same time. This is not the only incident Chance the following year some guy named Bob died by getting mauled by some demon, Billy Hargrove and Heather were killed by some demon and coincidently the Starcourt mall burned down with the chief of police dead, people believe his alive as a zombie because they've seen him." Jason with a rage in his tone retorted Chance. "What does a string of deaths with unrelated people who got killed by "demons" even offer the idea that this town is cursed and contributing to Chriss's death? Plus the theory that the Chief of Police is now a zombie what a stupid thing to think about" Chance still feeling annoyed remarked with the statement of the zombie police chief and questioned Jason's theory. "Dungeons and dragons Chance" proudly stated to Chance. "A board game? Really? God is this some joke to you guys? Chrissy's dead and all of you are now joking, making conspiracy theories of what happened to her, just stop with it." Chance retorted to Jason's stupid suggestion. "Chance, Jason is right. The boy who went missing and died, he was playing DnD. Barbara Holland was seen 2 days before her death reading a guidebook from that game ever since then the strange things that happening are caused by the board game and Eddie is part of the hellfire club. He's the club president or they dungeon master." Patrick agreeing to Jason. "I can't take you guys seriously anymore. I know Chrissy's sudden death was quite a shocked to us but we can't making up fantasy scenarios of why and how she died. The people that died are not connected to Chrissy's case, she got murdered by some junkie. If you want to feel better or take some justice for Chrissy file a lawsuit against Eddie for murder. I'm gonna go home na, I hope this bullshit nonsense ends today guys. I don't want to deal with this everyday." Chance stated to the other three as went to his car. I hope this a wake up call for them. I can't believe they still make stupid and childish shit even this time. Chance said to himself in his mind as he drove back home. They didn't stop believing with this bullshit they've been talking about since Chrissy's funeral. What's even worse the whole team fully believed with Jason. Chance groaned in annoyance as he had to deal with the teams constant hatred to hellfire club and it's members. Chance tried his best to make the team hate on Eddie instead cause he's a murderer and don't involved some geeks and nerds playing a dumb game but his please fell on deaf ears. During the days, weeks and months he had to complain his anger to one of his teammate Sinclair who was the only one who agreed with him to not involved other members of the club. Until one day where Jason forced Chance to drive some members of the team to a place he doesn't know but he learned that one of them learned that Eddie and a member named Henderson always hanged out here. The whole team except Chance confronted the two to stop bickering. Chance interfered Jason's whos fueled with anger for the past few months wanted to beat Eddie and Henderson up Chance tried his best to stop it until Eddie punched Chance first and ruined his expensive watched in the process. Chance was consumed with range beat Eddie so bad that Henderson tried to interfere with kicking Chance's face ended getting beat up. Chance being a black belt in karate the two of them no pun intended didn't stand a chance he was only stop by a member of the hellfire club he remembered Wheeler who was in his physics class by tacking him down with extreme force randomly when Chance was distracted by Punching Henderson's face and then some squared face stranger joined him. A bombardment of shouting and screaming with many arguments began happening as Chance was tackled by the people on top of him. An old man with balding curly haired man stop the whole group then called the school about teens rough hosing and cutting classes. The principal called all of their parents and some getting scolded not as bad like Chance who got grounded and had his keys taken away from him for brutally beating up two kids on his own. Chance was so angry about what happened in the ordeal and his relationship with Jason got fractured because he got suspended for a week from school for betting up Henderson and Eddie who went to the hospital afterwards, Chance in the next few weeks ignored some his team members while trying to ease his anger by cooking and baking.
The following days Jason realized his mistake and tried his best trying to apologizing to Chance as he was still grounded from his car but he wouldn't accept it because of Jason's anger consuming him. The days of their bickering and shouting took the whole team in downwards spiral because of this Chance and the others who got tired with Jason and others bullshit banded together while Jason and the others banded together. The team's comradery took a massive hit with the constant fights. It all stopped until the earthquake that changed Hawkins, his parents went a business trip together while both of his brothers took care during this time. During the earthquake his siblings were shocked of what happened they all went outside and saw the ground being broken and glowing red as if hell began to open. They all went to evacuation center immediately with the older boys taking their cars and with Chance driving the twins. The 5 Lawson siblings are now inside with evacuation center with countless residents of Hawkins, many people are panicking, are in shocked of what's happening. He heard some of them mentioning about seeing flower monsters, demon mauling animals and now Chance fully believed of what Jason and others were talking about. His brother Chad called their parents about what happened in their hotel room they've talked about returning but he told about the military had other plans so they couldn't return back even they wanted to, Chance then saw Andy crying and scared.
"Andy what happened?" Chance asked the sobbing Andy. "Jason and Patrick are dead!" Andy stated shocking Chance. "What?! How?!" Chance asked Andy with shivers in his voice. "(sniffling) We followed the hellfire club the old creel house and saw someone floating and they were possessed. They were doing a satanic ritual" Chance is in state of shocked of what to do with information he received from Andy so he went numbed to comfort Andy. The next few days as Hawkins descent to madness Chance tried his best to keep himself sane as his siblings were doing the same. A few days after the earthquake Chad and Chase needed to get permission from their college and the military leave Hawkins because of their studies, they wanted to stayed but due to their strict school they need to come back leaving the three all alone.

Chance has arrived to the funeral with his cupcakes on his hand .The makeshift funeral home is far away from the usual funeral home they had to relocate for the time. Chance saw his team members waiting for him "Chance thank god you've arrived safely" Andy greeted him. "It's nice to see you again Andy and also you to guys" Chance greeted him back while greeting his team. "Great you made your delicious cup cakes" Andy happily realized what Chance's tray. "Jason's favorite" Chance stated with a somewhat happy and sad tone in his voice.
"The funeral is about to start you guys. Come in already." One of their teammate who is already inside mentioned and all of them entered the the home and Chance put down his tray the table in the corner. They all sat behind Jason's family and the service started to begin. The priest entered and hailed bible verses and prayers for the town and Jason's soul. The ended his sermon and the eulogies started to begin, Mr and Mrs Carver started first together "I want to thank everybody who came here in our time of mourning despite our town being, we appreciate it." Mrs Carver opened with eulogy. "Jason our dear boy is now with our heavenly father and we hope his journey to his new destination will be will be full of warmth and safety as he arrived the gates of heaven." Mr Carver said to his eulogy hiding away the tears. "We want everybody to know that our dear Jason was a good boy trying to protect his family and friends and he did that (wailing)" Mrs Carver said as she broken down to her husband's arm. Chance couldn't look away from her mourning wails he felt sad for them and felt their pain. Mr Carver ended their eulogies as he thank people again for coming and wishing Jason to guide them in the next few years with safety and health. The next one is Andy who arrived to the podium "Hello again everybody I'm Andy Harper Jason's friend, teammate who's been with him when we were kids with Chrissy and Patrick. We been together in our lives and I can't believe it that I'm going go on life without you (he turned his head to Jason's casket as tears rained on his face) Jason I... I... I. Andy brooked down on the podium as he hide face on top of it. His muffled cries we're still heard in front of people. Chance went up the podium "I'm going to excuse Andy for moment everyone" Chance carried Andy as his face of full of tears and nose full of snot "Andy don't you dare put some your disgusting snot on my designer coat" Chance uttered to Andy, it garnered some laughs with the people and cheered Andy a bit. They arrived at the men's restroom and Andy started to cry more. Chance returned to room to get some cup of water for Andy then gave to him to drink. It helped Andy to smooth down and he stopped crying for a bit because eyes were red "Are okay dude? Do feel alright?" Chance said softly "I don't dude, It's just past few days man it's... everything just went to shit." Andy in horsed voice replied back. "I get it Andy, The earthquake shocked everyone." Chance again with soft voice said back to Andy. "I..I..I...- Andy if can't talk about it now it's fine you don't need to explain it now, we still have time to figure this thing out." Chance cut off Andy. "I'm scared Chance. The possession of a kid in the creel house. The earthquake opening hell. It's too much" Andy said while shivering in fear. "I get it Andy. I mean the things you guys been saying were actually real and I can't believe Jason and Patrick are dead because of it. It's going to be a hell of a ride with the government trying to stop whatever we're dealing and some people are panicking with monsters roaming and killing them. I'll be here for you Andy even the times are going to be hard I'll try my best for you" Chance said to give Andy to some encouragement. "Thanks Chance. It's just I feel like Eddie and the hellfire club cursed us" Andy replied to Chance. "Why do you say that?" Chance questioned Andy "It's how Jason and Patrick died, Patrick being turned into a... a... a..- Don't mentioned Patrick please" Chance cut off Andy. Patrick's death is a topic the team don't want the touch because how he died is stomach turning for them. Andy is one of the few poor souls that saw how Patrick died, he described it while being an emotional mess and shivering in fear he told them how Patrick's body contorted and burned badly that his body had to be cremated and his body is destroyed beyond repair for the morgue to fix. The worst part is Andy and two other heard Patrick's scream for help as his body turned against and he was alive during the burning of body, the tree heard his screams but non could help him and they just let him die in a cruel and painful death.
"Sorry Chance. I'm losing my sanity with this bullshit and just scared if the hellfire really cursed us" Andy sighed with a tired tone. "I could bet them again if they did cursed us" Chance confidently said. "Won't you get grounded again if you did that?" Andy asked Chance. "Yes but if they dabbled with witchcraft or any supernatural shit they've been doing there gonna get their asses kick by me." Chance proudly said with smirk to Andy. "Whatever dude but we should get back to the room" Andy stated. "Fine as long you break down again because I'm not gonna drag you away again ' Chance teasing Andy then they went back to the service. The eulogies wrapped out fairly quickly because the people that were on the podium kept crying before they even finishing their sentences so the eulogy part was full of family and friends crying hard as they said goodbye to Jason even their coach who Chance recently learned got invited was even crying hard before he even got to the podium shouting "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN NBA" many times and when he went to his eulogy it was quite heartwarming to say good things to Jason but he kept crying so hard and mumbles about basketball it was hard for the team to take their coach seriously and had to hide their laughter.
Everybody then went to their cars as they follow Jason's hearse to their next destination Hawkins Graveyard which is a 30 minute drive away from the makeshift funeral home. As they arrived at the graveyard everyone set the chairs, tents and other things and put the food on the tables, some plastic plates are now on top the table then they begun to prepare Jason's burial. The casket is now in being put down by the pulley and everything began to throw roses on Jason's casket as they said there last goodbyes to him. Everybody then eat dinner in the graveyard telling stories about Jason's life all of them told it with fondness and kindly were happy they've met Jason in their lives. Hearing those stories help Chance, Andy and the team to feel relax, as the night comes and food trays becoming empty everyone went to their cars as they'll be going home. Chance went to his car immediately and drive outside of the parking lot but stopped for Andy who was standing on the road "Andy!' Chance shouted and Andy looked at him "What dude?" Andy asked Chance. " I found this on my storage and I think you need this more than I do" Chance said and went to give Andy a photo of all 5 of them celebrating Patrick's birthday in Chance's house. "Thanks Chance I appreciate this. I'm lucky that your my friend" Andy said in happy soft voice. " Andy everybody is lucky to have me as their friend. I'm amazing" Chance jokingly said to Andy gaining a laugh "Your full of yourself you know that" Andy said while smiling. "Well, I'll be going na Max is babysitting the twins and it's going to rain at any moment plus I'm the one that's farthest away from this graveyard so bye Andy, you can talk to me at any moment dude" Chance said as he drove away from Andy waving goodbye and Andy waved goodbye to him.
Chance's drive back is long ride back then the outpour of heavy rain suddenly fall down on his car and the roads becoming more slippery Chance had to be safe in his driving so he began take out cassette tapes in his storage to put in his radio to calm him down. He started to sing along Apo Hiking Society songs as he drove along in this heavy rain until a bump in his car stopped him in his tracks. He stopped for a moment to look outside to see what he hit but there was nothing he could find so he started his car again but he found his back right tire deflated from the bump.
"FUUUUUCK" he groaned to himself with his hand on his head. He immediately find his flashlight in his car then went back to trunk despite the heave downpour of rain against him Thank god this coat is not dry clean only he though to himself. He went to get the jack, the spare tire and other tools that he put on. He immediately went to change his tire. In a few minutes he successfully put the jack under his car then took the bolts off his flattened tire taking it out from space.
Growling. A sound from the forest made Chance stop what he was doing, his heartbeat became more faster from the sound. "Is someone there?" Chance asked with a hint of fear in his voice. He then looked around the forest with his flashlight until he saw a shadow of a monster that opened its head like flower, the realization that he saw the flower monster other people mentioned. He quickly hid in his car's backseat bringing along the tools, he turned his radio off as fast as possible from the backseat. Chance with fear in his veins became quite, he started to pray for his safety and he's trapped and can't run as fast than the monster, he prayed some more for the monster to leave already but it had other plans. It jumped at the engine then began shattering the front glass growling at chance.
"ARGHHH!!!" Chance screamed on top of his lungs while the monster was a few inches away from him. It started to get closer from Chance but he kept smacking it with the tools he brought inside and it worked for a moment but the monster started to come more closer so Chance escaped his car and ran towards the forest
"SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! OH GOD PLEASE IS SOMEBODY HERE!!! SOMETHING IS GOING KILL MEEEE!! Chance shouted in desperation while running as fast as he can. He turned back for a moment to see it running towards him. The gap became more closer between them then Chance slapped it with the flashlight he brought than chocked it down as it opened its flower mouth choking for a moment. Chance ran as quickly he got the monster to choked on his flashlight.
I DON'T WANNA DIE YET!!! NOT LIKE THIS!!! DEAR GOD PLEASE HELP!!!! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!! JUST HELP ME!!! " ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Chance thought to himself while screaming, his face full of tears as his desperate for his safety then he saw a purple light. He ran as fast to reach the purple light then to see some vines covering it he quickly removed it to run inside but he tripped down.
"FUCK!! OUCH!! CRAP!! SHIT!!" Chance as he rolled down from cave thing he entered and he stopped rolling. "What is the place?!" Chance asked himself in a new place he entered. A place where a lot of flora are near him, a sunny sky and lastly a calming atmosphere. He felt relaxed for a moment in this new place
GROWLING AND SCREAMS. The monster followed Chance in this new place. Chance began to stand up but the fall he endured he couldn't run as he could and the creature began to keep closing on him till Chance reached a dead end of a flower wall.
"PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! I DON'T WANNA DIE YET!! I HAVE 2 SISTERS TAKE CARE OFF BACK HOME!! PLEASE PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!!" Chance in a desperate plea for his life begged the monster while tears poured down his face. The monster took its time to get all of it on his four limbs on the grow and growled at the scared Chance then it jump towards Chance
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Chance screamed while covering his face with his arms as he prepared to die but a few seconds after monster jumped. He then look at it being levitating by some light and growling at him. A person with a purple cape flew down besides Chance shocking him with the person's sudden appearance then took a gun out of his hip that was strapped on and shoot it disintegrating it by one bullet and the person looked back at him with smile on his face.
"A new person has entered the utopia. I'm Will, what's your name stranger?" Will the boy around his age with a patch on his left eye asked with glee.
