Summary
Anaxagoras slips his arms around the mer’s shoulders, feeling those strong muscles—used for swimming so fast in unknown depths—twitch under his touch. “Mate with me, then.” He says, tilting his chin with an unfaltering gaze.
Mydei stares at him for a long moment. Baffled, almost. “Leave.” He tries again, but it’s a weak attempt with the way he was eyeing Anaxa with such hunger.
“I shall not.”
Mydei growls again, something harsh and frustrated. But whatever self control he had been maintaining was clearly falling beyond his grasp. “Anaxagoras-“
“It’s alright.” He assures patiently, ignoring the shiver that runs up his spine at the way Mydei said his name. Low, desperate, eager. He slips a hand to cup the other’s cheek, meeting his gaze with determination and a quiet thrill. “Mate with me.”
Mydei is a merman, recently taken in by an aquarium after being washed ashore with a severe injury.
Anaxa is a staff member, fascinated enough that he barely hesitates to… help when the Mer enters an unexpected rut.
