    Summary

“She was a star no crown could claim, no gaze could tame, and no fire could burn.”

Born in 191 A.C. to Prince Maekar Targaryen and Dyanna of House Dayne, Princess Maerys was dragon by blood and Dornish by heart. Silver-gold hair and violet eyes marked her Valyrian, but sun-kissed skin and freckles betrayed Starfall. Too Dornish for some, too Targaryen for others, she learned early that belonging was conditional.

At nine, she was sent to Starfall to escape a younger brother whose devotion had begun to feel like possession. Even as a girl, Maerys understood what it meant to be watched. In Dorne she became deliberate learning as much as they were willing to teach her.

When she returned to court, her mother secured her marriage to a Martell cousin, keeping distance between siblings. Maerys went willingly. Widowhood came young, and soon after, her dragon hatched. The realm called it fate.

    Maerys knew better.

She returned to King’s Landing not as a girl, but as a dragonrider and in those halls, she found Baelor again.
