Work Text:

Wednesday grabbed Enid by the lapels of her blazer, tugging her close. Enid blinked, slightly taken aback by the sudden pull, her cheeks flushing pink with their closeness.

Wednesday held her gaze, her eyes traveling down to Enid’s lips slowly, making her breath hitch in anticipation.

Wednesday’s eyes rose again. “Enid…” she whispered.

“Y… yes, Wednesday?” Enid managed, her words barely steady.

Wednesday paused, tilting her head, she began to lift her hand as if reaching for Enid’s cheek. Her fingertips caressed the air around her cheek, close enough to tingle over her skin.

“Your face is perfectly symmetric,” she murmured, studying her with unnerving gentleness before stepping back, and without another word, she turned and walked out of their room, leaving Enid rooted to the spot, flustered, and desperately trying to remember how to breathe again.

Enid stood there for a full ten seconds, arms limp at her sides. Her heart unable to slow down. Her wolf restless. It pawed at her ribs like wanting to sprint after Wednesday and demand clarification.

Instead, Enid quietly muttered, “Perfectly symmetric? What does that even mean?” Her voice came out a little strangled.

Wednesday just kept walking through Nevermore’s halls, aimlessly but with purpose. Her hand still tingling with the sensation of almost touching Enid’s cheek. She berates herself for the moment of weakness, insisting it was a simple observation of facial geometry based on a scientific remark. Nothing more, nothing less.

She was unfortunately pulled from her thoughts when Bianca rounded the corner and stopped abruptly in front of her. “You look…odd…er than usual,” she said, narrowing her gaze at Wednesday.

Wednesday frowned at her and replied, “I made an analytical statement. It was not received as intended.”

Bianca’s smirk bloomed slow and sharp. “Let me guess. Wolfie?”

Wednesday’s jaw tightened, which told Bianca everything she needed to know.

“Maybe, try something a little more…hands on…,” Bianca said, walking off with a laugh.

Wednesday stood there, staring after her, deeply offended by the assumption of the advice.

“Wednesday Friday Addams!” Enid’s voice boomed through the hall, making the hair on Wednesday’s neck stand on end.

Enid ran straight to where she was standing, coming to a halt at arms length, breathless, not from the run but from what she was about to say, “Perfectly symmetric, really?”  She huffed and, using their height difference to her advantage, she leaned forward, “Because…the feeling is incredibly mutual…”

She could see the panic in Wednesday’s deep, brown eyes. She was about to run, and Enid wouldn’t have that. She seized Wednesday by her cuffs, “Don’t run…” she whispered, “It’s ok.”

Wednesday blinked, her eyes locking into Enid’s lips once more. She let herself feel, closing her eyes and letting go…

Enid met her halfway, cupping her face and kissing her ever so softly.

Bianca poked her head around the corner with Yoko at her side, “Told her that would work.” She chuckled.

And as their kiss grew deeper, Yoko yelled, “Get a room, you homos!”

Wednesday’s knife flew across the hall and straight next to Yoko’s head. “Shit! She didn’t even open her eyes!”

Enid pulled way giggling lightly, “Maybe we should…”

Wednesday just nodded. She’d go to hell and back with the girl in front of her, and that’s all that mattered right now. Revenge would have to wait…
