Work Text:
Enid came back from her run, closing the dorm door behind her, “Uh, I need a shower so bad.”
Wednesday was sitting on her armchair, reading a book. She wrinkled her nose at Enid, “Affirmative, you do.”
Enid rolled her eyes at the playful gesture, “Just letting you know, in case you need to use the bathroom before my shower.” She lifted her arms and started to peel off her drenched shirt.
“Oh shit, I’m stuck.” Enid huffed.
Wednesday lifted her head to glare at the wolf, but her eyes were greeted with the sight of Enid’s sweat-covered, chiseled abs.
Her mouth went dry as she traced Enid’s upper body with her eyes.
“A little help here!” Enid yelped, still struggling to take off the offending shirt off.
Wednesday blinked; her mouth was slightly agape. She was glad no one could see her in this unlikely display of weakness. She cleared her throat, “H…how did you get stuck in a shirt, Enid?”
“My earring, it’s stuck and I can’t pull my shirt off because it’s pulling on it,” Enid whined.
Wednesday got up and walked towards her, trying to avoid looking back down. “Hold still.” She ordered as she reached for the top of her shirt to unhook the earring.
Enid had her arms in an awkward position and tried to move to give Wednesday a better view.
“I said, stop moving. I am trying to free you, and you are only making it worse.” Wednesday snapped, her fingers fumbling around to get the earring loose.
“Sowwy.” Enid said with a pout Wednesday couldn’t see. She moved her feet to get a better stance, but stepped on her shoelace, losing balance and bringing them both down. She instinctively lowered her arms to protect herself from the fall but caught Wednesday’s head in the process…
They both laid there for a moment, Wednesday now also stuck under Enid’s shirt. “Sorry…” Enid whispered again.
Wednesday glared at her; she had fallen right on top of Enid, her hands landing right on the abs she had been previously gawking at.
Time stilled, and nobody moved. They stood frozen, looking at each other like deer caught in headlights. Until they heard Thing snap.
Wednesday frowned, “You are free.” Her face was burning with a blush, “Now release me before I maim you.” Her voice coming out a little too low for her liking.
Enid blinked, “Um, yeah, yeah. Uh, sorry.” She lifted her arms, finally peeling the shirt off completely.
Wednesday instinctively got off her, turned, and walked towards the door. “Thing? A word.”
Thing turned his nub from her to Enid and then back.
“We shall be right back. There is something we have to attend to.” Wednesday announced to Enid. As she got her things ready to shower, “Oh, ok…um, cool!” Enid was a babbling mess; she didn’t know how to form a coherent sentence after what happened. “Right, I’ll be in the shower.”
Wednesday’s frown deepened as she stepped out into the cold air in the hallway with Thing beside her, “You saw nothing.”
