   Summary

   Dunk sets out to embark on his own short solo travels, while his squire remains behind in Summerhall, bound for a year of rigorous training upon his father's command.

   Wary of what his exiled older son might become, Prince Maekar requests the hedge knight to take the other reckless prince along with him. Aerion needed to be set straight one way or another, and the lively city of Lys had done little to tame the dragon's fire.
   Dunk agrees on a single condition: if he is to take the prince, things will be done his way.

   Reining in Aerion proved to be his toughest trial. Trouble seems drawn to Dunk wherever they go, while the prince constantly seeks to take control of their path.
