The first thing Shiho notices is that she just woke up. And, that her phone is buzzing like crazy.
She hates getting calls this early in the morning. Especially when she just opened her eyes.
’I should probably pick up the phone though.’ Shiho thought.
Her voice was raspy, this was the first sentence she spoke today. “Saki? What’s up?”
Saki had all of the energy in the world, even if it was 7 am. “Shiho, hi! I have some news for you!! When can you come over?”
“Can you say that 20x slower? I just woke up.” Shiho rolled her eyes, even if Saki couldn’t see it.
”I have something to show you. Ask your parents if you can come over!”
“Right now? Isn’t it a school day…?” Shiho asked.
”Nope! It’s Saturday.” The positive energy radiating from Saki managed to make Shiho smile a bit.
”Ah, right. Don’t we have practice?” Even if it was technically a weekend, Leo/Need still had practice on Saturday’s. They only rested on Sunday’s.
”Well, yeah… But, I think you’ll be really excited to see this! We can have practice on Sunday instead!”
“Saki… You know how I feel about skipping practice.”
“Yes, I know, but we’re not skipping. We’re just switching the dates around.” Saki replied.
”When did you learn to be so convincing? I’ll ask my parents about hanging out. Remember to text Leo/Need about the date change — make sure they don’t have any plans.” Shiho said.
”Okay! Love you, bye!!!” Saki hung up the phone.
’God, she’s going to be the end of me.’

After a couple of minutes of begging and a few compromises, Shiho was allowed to hang out with Saki.
First, she sent a text to her girlfriend to let her know she’ll be coming over in a hour. Second, she scanned her closet to find a suitable outfit.
‘Do I seriously only own hoodies? Maybe I should take up Mizuki-san’s offer of going to the mall with her.’
She eventually found a green and blue sweater in the depths of her closet. Then, Shiho picked out navy jeans with a rip on the knee.

*Knock*
The door opened and Saki stood in her cheerful fashion.
”Shiho-chan! Come in!”
“So, what’s this ‘surprise’ you have for me?” Shiho asked, while walking in the Tenma household.
Saki grinned mischievously and put a finger to Shiho’s lips, “You’ll see.”
Even though the walk to her room was only 30 seconds long, it felt like minutes.
Once they reached Saki’s room, she opened the door for Shiho and bowed.
“No need to do all of that…” The bassist muttered.
”Well, y’know that thing I really wanted as a kid?”
“A job?” Shiho asked.
”No… Y’know — a pet.”
“Oh yeah. What about it?”
“Well I made an investment.” Saki grinned.
”Please don’t tell me you kidnapped a cat again.” Shiho shivered as she recalled the memory.
”No! This animal has no parasites this time! We got him vaccinated and everything.” Saki said.
”Wait — you actually got an animal?!?” She couldn’t contain her excitement.
Saki smiled and went to the corner of the room, where she kept a cage. She opened it and let the animal inside it free. The animal sprung out and swiftly ran to Shiho’s side.
“Y-you got a pet bunny?!?” The bassist immediately crouched to the rabbits height. She put out two fingers and pet the bunny’s back.
“Yeah. Do you like him?” Saki’s heart melted at the sight. Shiho only acts this way when no one else is around.
“He’s so cute…”
Saki walked to where her girlfriend was and sat on the floor, near her.
“What’s his name?” Shiho asked.
”Well, I have two ideas. Do you like Shiho Jr, or Stella?”
The bassist stopped petting the rabbit. “Shiho Jr? Seriously?”
“It’s a cute name! Very fit for a cute rabbit.” Saki giggled.
”If you name him ‘Shiho Jr,’ I will kick you out of the band.”
“You can’t do that, only Hona-chan can.”
“I’ll convince Honami.”
“She won’t be convinced.” Saki replied.
”You doubt my convincing skills.” Shiho plainly said.
”Fine! I’ll name him Hinomori Jr!” Saki tapped the sides of her head with a finger, motioning a thought.
”That’s somehow even worse. Let’s go with a normal name, like normal people?”
”That’s boring.”
Out of the blue, the bunny mewled.
”Ah, I’m sorry Mr Rabbit… Do you want to be pet by Shiho-chan?” Saki directed the bunny toward Shiho.
Once pet, the bunny let out a purring sound. The bassist looked surprised, “Woah, I thought cats only did that.”
”Aw Shiho Jr wants to be pet by his father!”
Shiho continued petting the rabbit, while giving a look of annoyance to Saki. “Why am I the father?”
Saki giggled before saying, “Because, I’m the mother — and we’re both girls. You’re masculine enough to fit as a father anyways!”
“You’re very lucky you’re cute — I would’ve cursed you out if you weren’t.”
“Aww, you think I’m cute?!?”
Shiho took a second to figure out what Saki was talking about. Once she did, she blushed at what she implied and turned her head. “Never mind.”
Saki looked around the room impatiently — and then smirked. “Hey, Shiho-chan?”
She turned her head, tilted it, and looked toward Saki.
“Y’know what’s cuter than a bunny like Hinomori Jr?” The pianist’s grin never faltered, leaving Shiho both concerned and confused.
”I swear to Miku. If this is some stupid flirting tatic I will—“
Shiho got interrupted by a kiss on her cheek. Then, her neck and other cheek. Saki placed kisses all over her girlfriend, smiling softly at the end of each one.
She finally stopped her ambush, and looked at her girlfriend who was redder than red. “You.”
The bassist looked away, “You’re super cringe. You know that, right?”
”Yeah. I do.”
After a couple minutes of bickering and petting, the bunny fell asleep. The couple safely stowed the animal in his cage, cuddled on the bed, and watched old rom-com movies.
