Never Again Will I Abandon Thee

Summary:

Following the events of Take Me to Your Leader, Michelangelo is worried that Leonardo will leave again. Leonardo assures him otherwise.

"Leo..?" Michelangelo asked quietly. It was late at night and, that day, the group had nearly lost their leader. Leonardo had nearly abandoned them for good, and now Michelangelo was filled with anxiety about it.

"What's up, bro?" Leonardo asked, sitting up and pretending that he wasn't falling asleep just a moment ago. "You okay?"

"Are you gonna leave again?" Michelangelo asked, his voice quivering. Leonardo clicked his tongue sympathetically and scooted over to the youngest turtle, wrapping an arm around him. Michelangelo leaned into the touch like his life depended on it.

"No way, Jose" Leonardo said earnestly. "I'm sorry for dipping like that. It won't ever happen again, Mikey. I promise"

"Swear on your favorite slice of pizza?" Michelangelo asked very seriously, earning a chuckle from his older brother.

"Swear on that and my favorite TV show"

"Good" the youngest clung to him a little harder. "I don't want to lose you"

"You won't" Leonardo reassured. "Never again"
