Chapter Text
It was a quiet day. At least as quiet as it can be with the foxes.
"Draw 4!" Matt yelled out, quite literally slamming the card onto the table. The upperclass men were all sitting around a table in the dorms kitchen, having had too much free time.
They had only just met the new reqruit, Neil yesterday and had been informed of the Raven's change of districts.
While all of the monsters already have at least a basic opinion about Neil, having spent time with him over the break, the upperclass men have only just met him, so their opinions aren't exactly formed yet.
"Oh come on! I can't draw 20 cards! There isn't even that much in the deck!" Matt groaned five minutes after starting his doom. Like people always say, karma came back to bite him in the ass.
"I win." Renee said, setting down her last card with a smile on her face.
"Ugh! This is bullshit!" Seth threw down all of his unknown amount (A loooot) of cards, some scattering on the floor.
"Look who's the sore loser now." Allison teased her boyfriend, a mischievous look on her face.
Dan sighed to herself and stood up, grabbing a cup of water while wishing it was alcohol. Or maybe poison, she hasn't decided yet. Just as she was about to go back, a white book sitting on a shelf caught her eye. What was a book doing in the kitchen, on a shelf, meant for plates.
Dan didn't hesitate in walking over and picking the book up. The cover way the first thing that caught her eye. An orange fox footprint with a white background. The title was written in orange and read 'The Foxhole Court'..
Dan eyed the book suspiciously. A book, about them? Turning the book over, she started to read the summary. Most of the parts were blurred out, how or why, she wasn't sure. But it was obvious, this book was somehow connected to Neil.
The captain contemplated, weighing her options before settling on texting her coach, accompanied with a picture of the book.
Trusting her coach to make a good enough decision, she put the book back down and went back to the common room. They'd deal with that later on, for today, she was going to rest.
The next day, the foxes were called to a 'meeting' of sorts. But, really, they were just sitting in the common room.
Waymack was standing in front, his lips pulled into a grimace as he eyed the book set on the table.
"Since everyone is here now, does anyone have an explanation... For this?" Waymack said while pointing at a book.
"Huh? An explanation for a book? What, is it like, porn, or something?" Nicky joked despite the confused expression on his face as he eyed the book.
Matt picked up the book and scanned it, turning it around and scrolling through the pages. "Hey, uh... Why are the pages empty?" Matt voiced his confusion. Dan grabbed the book from him, also skimming through the pages.
"He's right. All the pages after the first one are empty." The curly haired girl scanned the book again, like it would magically change and be written. In her confusion, she didn't notice the note that fell out and dropped on the floor near Neil.
Neil who had been quiet all these time picked up the note and read it, a grimace appearing on his face. "Hey, uh-"
"Ohh, it seems the rabbit has found something. What is it, eh?" The permanent smile on Andrew's face still gave Seth the creeps. A muttered 'Freak' left his mouth but it was only loud enough for Allison, who was sitting next to him, to hear.
"A note." Neil passed it to Waymack, the grimace still prominent on his face.
Hello to whoever is reading this.
I'm Yuki Fangs.
As some of you have noticed, the book
Infront of you is called 'The Foxhole Court'
And you'd be right to think the book is about you.
A few minutes after the this note, you'll be transported to another place, please do not be afraid and do not attack anyone.
Waymack read the note aloud, the grimace on his face growing with each sentence.
"Didn't take you as the type to be a ranker, coach." Seth growled out, his face harboring a mocking smile with a laugh held back.
"Seth." Dan warned while giving him a stern looking.
"What? You expect me to believe this shit?" Seth laughed, the sound mocking.
"Unfortunately, I agree with him. How do you expect us to believe this?" Aaron's face was mostly blank, but his disgust from agreeing with Seth clearly showed.
Just as the other foxes voiced their opinion, all of them being something along the lines of 'Yeah, they have a point', a snap was heard and suddenly, the surroundings around them changed, and then it was all black.
