Rain drops of life in a pool of love

Summary:

Little moments of my Aizawa-Izuku-Hizashi family. This is kinda a continuation of my other fic 'Head in the clouds feet on the ground' you don't have to read it before this but I highly recommend you do. They're to short to be made into their own chapters so I'm putting them here.

Notes:

This is a new little thing I'm trying so bare with me here, and also don't forget to give feedback in the comments so I can know if people actually like this kind of stuff. I'll be adding to this as I get new ideas but I'll post them as separate chapters so it'll be like two or three little moments per chapter one chapter every month or two, more or less will be added depending on my motivation for that month.

Chapter 1: The waters overflowing, but at least it's warm.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

It was only a few weeks into Izuku living the Aizawa household when the first incident happened. Aizawa knew he would be with the kid more than Hizashi would, but he didn't realize just how much time that really was until he was eating with the kid one day and Izuku stopped eating looking over to Aizawa's plate.

"You never finish your meals unless Present Mic- um Hizashi is around." Aizawa has been working on getting the kid to use their first names instead of their hero names, then eventually they would move on to having him call them Dad and Papa. After he processed the rest of the sentence Aizawa froze, he was never good at eating, foster care left him aware of what it felt like to be hungry, what it felt like to not trust the food provided, it was something Hizashi has helped with a lot but at times without the other man he found it hard to stomach a full meal.

"It's fine kid, I just I'm not hungry." He explained trying to not worry the poor child who had already been through so much. Still he saw those green eyes working to try and figure out the real reason behind Aizawa not eating. Then the kid pushed his plate away crossing his arms in a way that confused Aizawa.

"What are you doing?" Aizawa asked, Izuku always finished his food, never had the kid regected anything he's offered him, this was something new and he didn't like it.

"If your not going to eat I won't either." The kid spoke stubbornly, Aizawa thought he wasn't serious, he believed that for about five minutes before he cracked. Watching the kid carefully, he took a bite of his food, the kid mirroring his bites, they went like that until both plates were empty and Aizawa felt mildly sick.

"Never do that again." He said as he cleaned up both of their plates and Izuku stood next to him watching him clean the dishes.

"Then you need to eat to, H-Hizashi said we have to eat all of the vegetables to grow as tall as he is." Right Aizawa remembered hearing Hizashi telling that to the kid, at the time he had thought it was a bit silly due to the kids age. But now a fond smile made its way into his face at the kids words.

"Of course, fine I'll eat my vegetables, but that means you have to too, got it?" He smiled softly at the nod he got in response green curls bouncing slightly with the action. Aizawa dried off his hands before turning to the kid. "Alright want to watch a movie before it's time for bed?"

"Yes can we watch the cars one? the first one was so good!" The kid grinned as Aizawa walked with him over to the couch. He was slowly getting used to having a kid in his life, the first few nights were rough and honestly a bit scary knowing the kids past, he would be lying if he said he didn't cry after finding out what the kids home life was like before he took him in, but still he was glad he did it.

They sat on the couch Izuku leaning against his arm as he put on the movie, the kid was getting more comfortable around them, and as it turns out he is a very clingy kid, the first few times he has been surprised by the kid leaning against him or just following him around. He had to reassure Izuku that is was ok and that he wasn't mad at Izuku for wanting affection, that made his heart clench knowing the kid didn't get affection before. That even Aizawa's no contact self was more affectionate than the kid was used to.

The movie played in the background but Aizawa was barley paying attention, he's seen it a few times already. After all it's been out since forever, they've probably already made a cars three and four but still the kid seemed to like it so he would endure it.

Soon enough they fell asleep on the couch together, eventually Hizashi would get home and carry them each to their own beds, after taking a dozen photos. The next day Aizawa would blush and scold Hizashi for taking the photos claiming they made him look soft, but some how they ended up printed out and framed to add to one of the shelves along side other photos of their family.

In the end Hizashi never ended up finding out about what happened that night, though he did notice the Aizawa started eating more during the few dinners they were able to have all together when their schedules lined up, and he would swear he saw Izuku glaring at the dark haired man whenever he stalled taking a bite of his food, though Hizashi couldn't prove anything.

~~

Izuku didn't like fireworks, this was something none of them knew until it was new years and they tried to take Izuku out to a festival to enjoy the holiday. It was all going well for a bit, they went around to the stalls trying some of the foods the vendors offered, getting the occasional coo at Izuku's cuteness, all in all it was an amazing night.

Until the fire works started, Aizawa didn't even think to check if the kid had any problems with explosions but by the time they started it was to late, the flinch the kid gave at just the first small pop to start the show had him shaking. It only got worse as tears formed in the kids eyes quickly spilling over into sobs, thank God for Hizashi still having his headphones on from patrol because he was able to slip them over the kids ears to block out some of the noise.

Aizawa felt horrible watching the kid sob as he tried desperately to console him, he had to physically hold the headphones on the kid due to them being to big for his small head and his other arm was wrapped around the sobbing child as he tried to reassure him that is was ok.

Once the kid wasn't in as much distress Aizawa picked him up getting Hizashi's attention and thankfully the blond seemed to understand without needed the other to say anything as they made their way out of the park. Aizawa sat in the back of the car with Izuku finally able to take the headphones off.

"Hey kid, it's ok, their just fire works they won't hurt you." He spoke softly running a hand through the kids hair. Hizashi was getting in the front glancing in the mirror worried about the kid but he ultimately knew Aizawa had it handled.

The kid was still shaking but thankfully he mostly stopped crying, "k-kachan used to um use his quirk a lot, it um sounded a lot like the fire works." The kid mumbled so quietly that Aizawa wouldn't have heard it of he wasn't paying attention.

Well he supposed that explains why the kid had such a bad reaction to the fire works. "Alright, then no more fire works, next time well just watch a drone show or stay home if you'd prefer." He remembered seeing a few drone shows online, apparently they were cheeper, and better for the environment but he never really payed them much mind, still they might be a better option with the kid.

"T-that sounds nice" Izuku's voice was sore from the sobbing but he moved closer to Aizawa, still on the mans lap resting his head on his chest. "Thanks Dad." He said quietly as he closed his eyes.

Aizawa froze glancing up to meet Hizashi's equality as surprised gaze in the mirror, then he looked back down to the kid clearing his throat "yeah um no problem kid." He tried to sound calm but the kid just called him Dad, he was a dad! Well he's been a dad but like now he's officially a dad. He never thought he'd be more happy to hear something then the day Hizashi first called him his boyfriend but now he was starting to reconsider. He held Izuku a little tighter a small smile slipping onto his lips as he looked down at the kid now asleep on his chest.

Yeah it was a good day, a long one with bad moments but forever Aizawa will remember it as a good day, even if he didn't realize before how much he wanted to hear Izuku call him Dad he would never have it any other way.

~~

It was late one night when Aizawa was once again left alone with Izuku, the kid insisted he should be allowed to stay up late due to it being the weekend, and Aizawa didn't know what answer was correct so he just let the kid say up telling himself mentally he'd put Izuku to bed before midnight.

So that's how they ended up on the couch, the lights dimmed with only the faint glow of the TV to illuminate the space. Izuku who was clearly tired but stubbornly trying to stay up had been messing with Aizawa's capture weapon and his overall hero outfit since the dark haired man refused to change out of it until he was actually going to bed.

Aizawa himself was also trying to not fall asleep although it was hard given the fact that he got absolutely no sleep the night before, due to being sent out on a stake out mission that took all night and all the time before he had to go home to take care of Izuku. He was so tired he almost fell asleep while he was making dinner but thankfully he was able to power through the night.

But now it was getting harder and harder to keep his eyes open, maybe just one minute of sleep wouldn't kill him, and besides it wouldn't be the first time him and the kid fell asleep on the couch, probably wouldn't be the last either.

"Dad you've got scars, just like mine." He heard the kid mutter, one of his many many observations. Aizawa was just about to brush it off like he did with the kids other questions with a simple answer about how they were from his hero work when he paused. Something about the kids statement felt off.

"Like yours? What scars are you talking about?" Aizawa knew the kid had a bad home life before he took him in, knew the kid was being bullied before, but still he never thought he got hurt to badly, at least not enough to give him scars.

"Mhm well um you know since I'm quirkless and stuff I'm pretty weak and um the other kids just get a little to rough when we play, it's really not that big of a deal." The kid spoke like this wasn't a big deal, like he hadn't been hurt as bad as he was.

"Kid- Izuku can you, can you show me your scars, just for a moment so I can confirm something?" Aizawa knew he had to be careful with this but still. The- his kid was hurt and he didn't know how badly he was hurt.

"Um ok?" With those confused words Izuku lifted his shirt, and even without him taking it off fully Aizawa could still see the light scar tissue splattered across the kids torso and back. Aizawa moved the shirt a bit to get a better view at the star shaped patches, it was clear they came from some kind of explosion and that was further confirmed by the color and texture of the skin, clearly burn scars.

"How did you get these?" Aizawa asked voice so quiet he wasn't sure if he actually said it out loud or just in his head.

"Well um, K-Kachan says I um need to be able to take a hit if I want to be a hero, so um he offered to help." Izuku shifted nervously, dispite his words taking the blame off the other kid it was still clear he didn't fully believe that response.

"Kachan, this kid, he's the one that caused all these. Can you tell me how he did it?" Aizawa was against killing kids, but whoever this Kachan was was really making him reconsider that, he would settle for sueing the kids parents into the ground.

"He has a explosion quirk, well um really it changed the chemical compound in his sweat to be similar to that of nitroglycerin, and then he can ignite it on command in his hands, though I um don't actually know how the igniting part works yet, so far my theory is that he's able to produce some chemical that sets off the reaction in the sweat and that's why he can't heat up his hands or-" the kids voice dropped as he started spouting more and more ideas about how this Kachan kid's quirk really worked.

Aizawa would have found it cute and even asked the kid to speak up so he could hear his theories, if it wasn't for the reason Izuku had so much experience with this quirk. To hear his kid rambling about a quirk that had hurt him so many times made something clench in Aizawa's chest, not his heart through, he was still against the fact that he could have one of those.

"I'm getting you out of that school by the end of the week, maybe Monday if things go wrong but Monday is the longest." He wouldn't let his kid- no, his son go to a school where he was being hurt so clearly anymore. Tensei had a little brother around Izuku's age, he could probably get him into the same school as him.

"Ah um that's really not- you um- you really don't have to, it's not that big of a deal. I'm used to it." Right, Aizawa forgot his son was used to far to many things, he treated abuse like it went in the same category as brushing his teeth. He was going to change that, him and Hizashi will be sure to teach Izuku that being hurt is not love, and bruises are not trophies to be collected.

First he has to stop the abuse from happening. "No, it is a big deal, you are being hurt Izuku, your a kid, your my kid, you shouldn't have scars, shouldn't have to be used to being hurt." He traced the light lines on the kids skin outlining the burns as he spoke, thankfully the kid didn't flinch at the touch, didn't even seem to notice it, that was better then when he would flinch if Aizawa moved his hand to fast in the kids detection.

Izuku didn't talk for a while after that his eyebrows were furrowed in thought and Aizawa was more then willing to let him process being told that he shouldn't be hurt. He'd give his kid all the time he needed. Eventually Izuku nodded resting his head on Aizawa's shoulder, the longer his kid was in his care the clinger he seemed to get, not that Aizawa minded, he'd just have to keep an eye on it and make sure the kid wasn't getting too codependent. Once the kids breathing evened out and he went limp against Aizawa's side the hero decided it was time for bed carrying the child to his room and tucking him in letting himself take the rest of the night off dreading the work that he knew he'd have to do tomorrow to get his kid out of that school and into a better one.

Still he felt a smile slip onto his face at the thought of his kid having a friend that would actually care about him. God he really was a dad.
