Inkopolis city was bursting with bright sun and music, the way it always was, as blue team and yellow green team were all sitting together, discussing what they could do for the upcoming tournament that was being held. Truthfully, it wasn't really a tournament but a 48 hour event that was being hosted in celebration of a supposedly very important birthday, that being non other then Pearl houzuki.
"I don't know why we're planning, it's not like our entire reputation relies on a birthday event." Headphones spoke, taking another sip of her drink as her team all exchanged a look of agreement. "You worry way too much about reputation Rider, lighten up a little bit." She smiled, as Bobbie nodded in agreement.
"Tch, you really don't understand do you?" Rider rolled his eyes sarcastically, not because he thought this was ridiculous, but because she was right. "I.. it's not about reputation, I mean sure.. it can, but I.."
"You like somebody don't youuuu??" Goggles chimed in, he knew the yellow green inkling.. they'd been best friends for god knows how long. "We can help you two get together!" He continued, as the table suddenly went completely silent.
"What.. what did I say?"
Specs pushed his glasses up, before taking a sip of water from his glass. "Goggles please, your stupid but your not dense." He muttered, recieving an elbow to his arm from headphones. "You seriously haven't figured out your roommate has a crush on you."
"... Rider isn't my roommate." Goggles' voice was so deadpan, specs actually jumped in his seat. "I mean, you're my roommate! You! You have a crush on me Specs!!" His sudden shift was terrifying, but they'd all accepted it as something to not be surprised about at this point.
"I'm.. I, no! No I do not have a crush on you, cod let me rephrase it. Rider likes you."
Blazer, Bamboo and Stealth goggles all turned to their team leader who suddenly got all defensive over such.. accusations. "I do NOT have a crush on him.. I want to CRUSH him." He spoke, as his team snickered from his unnecessary over reaction.
"Oh yeah, we're fully aware you have a crush on him." Headphones teased, receiving a laugh from Bobble. "See even my girlfriend thinks it's funny." She added, as Rider really had no way out of this did he.
"Look, I.. don't like him, I like girls." Not a very convincing argument, but he didn't really have any other counter arguments. Even so, it was a lie.. not once has he been attracted to women. Ever. "What, can a man not have friends??"
"Not when your friends make you feel like an idiot.. you're in love captain." Blazer spoke, pushing her tentacle over her shoulder. "Come on, you have four girls all over you and not once have you been attracted to them." She continued, as headphones and bobble nodded.
"I think I'm more attracted to them then you."
"Well.. Metry is a sweet girl, but she's really not my type.." Rider swirled his straw in his cup, waiting for another joke to make it's way into the off topic conversation. "And before you say-"
"Because your type is men." Headphones laughed that hard she fell off of her chair, as Specs and Goggles probably assumed she had officially lost it. "Sorry, sorry.." She stood up and wiped her eyes, as Riders pouting face made her crack up again.
"She's officially lost it." Specs laughed, as Goggles nodded. "So, why don't you just tell us then.. we won't judge." He spoke, as Headphones sat back down on her chair.
"Because I don't like anybody." Rider was really really trying to deny it, it wasn't working.. not even a little bit. "Fine.. if it gets you all to shut up. But if you tell anybody, I will crush you." His cold tone really didn't help his case.
"I like you too!~" Rider didn't even say anything, Goggles just.. confirmed whatever. "You really aren't good at hiding your feelings Mr super cutie!" He teased, and rider way that close to punching the blue inkling that he stood up.
"Eh.. what?"
"Nothing.. nothing, I.. I guess I don't need to say it now." Rider looked away, as the whole table erupted in laughter.. it was nice though, a little conversation suddenly ended up with him finally getting a new boyfriend. "It's not that funny, stop laughing about it."
"Oh.. my god it's hilarious." Headphones laughed, coughing from how much laughing she was doing. "The ever so unexpected ending." She continued, as Rider playfully hit her shoulder.
"Tch.. whatever, now we can stop talking about it."
"Sure.. sure, let's get back on topic."
The sun was still shining brightly, as the two teams continued talking.. hopefully this time without the distractions. It was nice, and sometimes.. they wished it could be like this all of the time, hopefully it could.
