Work Text:
Pearl sits in the car with her girls friend, a red container of french fries from the McDonald's down the street from the school, in her hands as she munches on them, listening to Cleo speak next to her as they sit parked in a parking lot of one of the towns parks, the early dusk of the spring school nights surrounding them, only disturbed by the street lights illuminating the parking lot.
The brunet is entrapped by everything about her girlfriend.
She's had partners before, a few boyfriends, and a girl at summer camp, but this has been the longest she's been in a relationship, almost four months now since Cleo asked her out on a date.
The high schooler smiles at that. Today is actually their four month anniversary.
Now, while Pearl's dated before, she still has not had her first kiss yet, and as she looks at Cleo, watches them speak with such love for the book she's telling Pearl about, it makes the brunet's heart swell.
"Cleo?" Pearl asks.
Cleo stops talking about her book, turning to look at Pearl, "Yes love?"
"Do you think we could have our first kiss...together...and for me?" Pearl asks, her cheeks heating up.
What if Cleo's not ready for that yet. What if Pearl is asking for too much and if making them uncomfortable?
"I actually would love to do that." Cleo says, "And I'm honored to be your first too." she says, smiling sweetly, a warm, fond smile, only meant for her closest friends, and Pearl.
Pearl sets her food down on the dashboard, leaning a little closer to the middle console of Cleo's car.
Cleo cups her cheeks, slowly leaning in more, "If you want me to stop, say so, okay?"
Pearl nods into her hand, wetting her lips with the tip of her tongue without even thinking about the action.
It's slow as Cleo leans in.
Pearl closes her eyes as she feels a gentle press of lips to her own.
They’re gone quicker than she would have liked, pulling away from her own.
Her eyes flutter open and she locks them with dark green ones.
"How was that?" Cleo asks, a little hesitant, possibly scared Pearl did not like it.
"I uh...I liked that." Pearl says, swallowing, trying to find the courage she had just had a moment ago, the courage to ask for another, "Can we uh do it again?" she says, eyes flirting over Cleo's face, looking for anything that might tell her they might want out.
Pearl instead finds Cleo leaning back in, pressing a kiss to her lips.
This kiss is longer and Pearl feels herself melting into it, leaning into Cleo, slightly asking for more.
They eventually need air, so they have to part, and as she takes deep breaths, Pearl feels her heart warm a little more as she looks at Cleo, the person looking at her like he's a precious thing she loves.
