Pearl's parents had been hesitant to let Pearl bring Scott over when they first started hanging out in middle school. Up until it was made very apparent, Scott had no interest in girls.
So now, junior year, they sit in Pearl's room, sitting on her bed, "Studying" (they really are just gossiping and chatting with each other).
"So, how's you and Lizzie going?" Scott asks, smirking.
Pearl's cheeks flush a deep red.
She's been dating Lizzie Shadow for about two weeks now, the same girl she had been crushing on since 8th grade, "I uh...well." she says, flustered.
"Oh, nice." He says, smiling, "And have you two kissed yet?"
"No." Pearl says, looking down at her lap before looking up at her best friend, "She's the first girl I've been with, and I want our first kiss together to be good." she says, "I mean I'v kissed, what? two guys so far, and both kisses were bad."
"I could help you with that." Soctt says.
Pearl tilts her head to the side, confused, "What do you mean."
"I mean, I could teach you how to kiss well." he says, "Only if you want to of course."
Pearl pauses, thinking about the offer, before, "I-uh...I guess."
The two of them sit there in awkward silence, neither knowing what to do right now.
"Well, you probably want to go for a closed mouth kiss with her first." Soctt says, "So to do that, you're going to purse your lips before you lean in to kiss her. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Also, you're going to want to make sure you have fresh breath."
Pearl nods her head.
"You want to lean in slowly." Scott continues, "You want to make sure your touching each other in some way, maybe a hand cupping her cheek, a hand on her leg, or both your hands touching." he continues as Pearl nods, "You want to tilt your head so your noses don't bump into each other and you want to then kiss her. Keep that contact as long as you two feel comfortable, but not for too long."
Pearl's touch flicks out, wetting her lips, "I-you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but uh...could we like practice...I don't want to mess this up with her."
Scott's eyes look over her face before he says, "If you want to." he says, "Let's just hope your parents don't walk in on us." he jokes.
Pearl's cheeks heat up even more as she awkwardly chuckles, "Yeah, that would not be funny."
"Well, let's get it on." He says, sitting up straighter, leaning in towards Pearl slightly, lips closed as he waits.
Pearl takes a deep breath, stealing her nerves she leans in slowly like Soctt said, tilting her head before pressing her closed lips to Scott's.
They hold it for a few seconds before both of them pull away.
"You're not half bad." Scott says.
"Really?"
"I think you're ready to kiss Lizzie."
