Work Text:
There were many things about Alysa that people had no idea of: she loved hiking, she made amazing spaghetti and she was absolutely the best at making personalized charms. First she made for her dad, it was mostly blue with little elements of red - colors that reminded her of him, it wasn’t amazing, but it was first and since then she got better. She made one for each of her friends and important family members and she made one for her coaches after her comeback. That was her love language, and she was happy about it.
Whenever someone became important to her, she started thinking about what kind of charm she would make for them. It was the same with Amber. It was during her first Nationals Championships since coming back, she was sitting with Amber in her room, waiting for Isabeau to join them to watch a new movie with an actor she liked, when she thought about it.
It took her more than usually to came up with idea, normally she was making what she felt but with Amber it was different, she wanted to think it through, to make it perfect. After about a month and few sketches she had this perfect idea in her mind: a black strig with little white, full moons, silver stars and a single phoenix in the middle which symbolized everything that Amber had endured and that she had not given up.
It took her another two weeks to find everything she needed and to make it. In her opinion it was the prettiest she ever made and she was super excited to give it to Amber at the Worlds where they were going together.
Alysa was overjoyed when she got assigned to a room with Amber, with whom she was also supposed to train for the next days. When they entered the room she locked the door behind them and jumped onto the bed smiling at older girl in the way that made Amber’s heart beat faster.
“I have something for you.” Amber raised an eyebrow in question.
“Should I be scared?” Alysa shook her head quickly and smiled even wider.
“Nah don’t worry. Close your eyes.” Amber looked at her with slight distrust but did what she was asked for. “Stretch out your hand.” She did.
Alysa squealed from excitement and stress, put lucky charm on Amber’s hand and moved away slightly. “You can look now.”
Amber took a breath and opened her eyes slowly. “That’s so pretty Alysa, thank you. What is this exactly?”
“A lucky charm, I made it for you!” She smiled so brightly that Amber couldn’t help but stare at her, she opened her arms and Alysa fell into hug which meant more then any words.
“I love it” Amber said even though she wanted to say something different and Alysa smiled again even though she wanted to hear something different.

Amber was sitting on white couch in their living room with her legs crossed and frustration all over her face as she was replaying same damn tutorial for third time. Her hands were covered in glue and glitter and were slowly starting to shake as she tried to thread a blue star onto a black and white string that she had previously braided herself, following another tutorial. She took a deep, exhausted breath as she glued together last two pieces, she held the whole thing out at arm's length and smiled, pleased with the result.
It definitely wasn’t the prettiest lucky charm she saw but she was satisfied as hell with her work and she couldn’t wait to give it to the love of her life.
Alysa was packing her suitcase when Amber walked trough the door and sat on their bed with her hand behind her back.
“I have something for you.” Alysa stopped and looked at Amber.
“What?”
“You’re going to your first competition without me since we started dating, so I made you something to remind you of me.” Amber smiled shyly and pulled out her hand from behind her back, in which she held…
“OMG! You made me lucky charm?!” Alysa jumped on her and hugged her tightly.
“I did, I thought that’ll be cute.” Amber kissed her quickly and smiled.
“It is, I love it!” Alysa ran her fingers through Amber's hair and froze for a second. “Is that glitter in your hair?”
Amber laughed a little and shook her head in disbelief. “Yeah it is, I’ve been trying to get rid of it for three days, but there’s still some left.”
“Do you want me to help before I finish packing?” Alysa asked flirtatiously.
“Yes, please"
