Chapter Text
Bilbo flinched as he felt hands wrap around him
“Thorin?”
There was just a grunt, who else could it be? Bilbo looked to his side and saw Thorins face stare into the same window, it was beautiful to see their kid play with someone else's in their garden even though he was different, poor kiddo was much thinner than the other hobbit kids, with less pointy ears and darker hair, it wouldn’t be hard to find him in a crowd.
Bilbo sighed and kissed Thorin’s cheek, making the Dwarf groan and pull away, he still had the “leadership” in him, too protective over himself and his feelings from the time that he was with his company.
“Seriously?”
“No, its just..whatever”
Thorin chuckled and walked away, leaving Bilbo alone again with his tea. Bilbo smiled and looked back outside with a sigh, he was always thankful for the fact that two different species managed to get a healthy kid so easily, maybe it is because they weren’t so different? He was also happy that they are able to live happily, suspiciously happily

It was getting late, Bilbo has went out to find some mushrooms and Thorin was left alone to take care of Frodo and make sure that he wouldn’t wander off with his friends, they’re kids after all, who knows what they did during the day. Thorin guided Frodo into the bathroom to wash the grime off of his body. While Frodo was taking his clothes off, Thorin was filling up the bath and preparing Frodo’s sleeping clothes.
Before he could turn around to put Frodo into the bath he was splashed by the same boy, rascal jumped into the water spilling half of it out
“Frodo! You cant just jump in! What if I didn’t look and you would drown?”
Thorin scolded, shaking his body to get water off of him but Frodo didn’t take him seriously, just giggling at the way how his father was shaking. Obviously Thorin wasn’t mad, he himself chuckled and shook his head
“You wanted this!”
Thorin attacked Frodo’s stomach, tickling the boy as “punishment”. After all the goofing and washing they finally got out of the bath, opening the door made steam roll out and onto the floor. Frodo was now clean and in his sleeping clothes.
“Bilbo! We are done, is dinner ready too?”
Thorin called out but was met with silence, was Bilbo still out? Maybe he saw his neighbour’s and decided to talk, or maybe he was taking a stroll to smoke some pipeweed, who knows. Thorin lit more candles around the place to make it lighter, it was obvious that he was scared for his husband, but what danger could possibly be in the shire?
He glanced at Frodo, making sure that at least he was okay and so he was, then he went to the kitchen window, it was the best window because you could see almost the whole village out of it. He stared around and didn’t see anyone who looked like bilbo, there were some hobbits but none of them even had a basket in heir hands. Thorin tapped his finger on the windowsill and decided to take his mind off, so he turned away from the window and went to Frodo who was reading a book
“Want father to read it for you little one?”
“Yeah!”
Frodo smiled cheerfully, jumping off of the chair and trotting to Thorin and looking at him with his bright eyes
Thorin stared into Frodo’s eyes, he saw the Arkenstone in them, the same shining blue. It was like something took control of his mind as he lunged at Frodo, pinning him against the wall and gripping him painfully. Frodo wailed out, book falling out of his hands and onto thw floor, he started kicking and squirming, calling for help from Bilbo. Thorin was about to shut him up before a pair of hands pushed him off of the child, Bilbo leaned down as Frodo jumped into his hands and hid in his neck, Bilbo caressed Frodo and glared down at the Dwarf who was on the floor glaring back and breathing hard. Bilbo’s mouth opened as if to say something, scold the man but he sighed and shook his head, walking away into the bedroom.
Thorin’s eyes softened when the door closed and he was left alone in the room.
“What have i done…?”
