Chapter 1 — The Anniversary Photo

The countdown to our 10-Year Anniversary Special begins today.
Fans voted for the most iconic moments from each season.
We’re starting with the moments that brought the whole family together.

The clip opens on a close shot of Bruce Wayne already in full Brucie Wayne mode.
He smiles at the camera like this is the most normal thing in the world. “People think the hardest part of parenting is discipline,” Bruce says brightly. “It isn’t. It’s scheduling.”
Behind him there is visible chaos. The family shifts and moves while a harried photographer attempts to wrangle everyone into a semblance of order. The Waynes themselves move about with an air of affected disinterest in assembling into a reasonable pose for the promo photo.
Bruce continues talking as if none of it is happening, “You try coordinating this many calendars and tell me how that goes.”
In that moment someone off camera asks Bruce to introduce everyone and as he says each name, the camera pans to the family member and a chyron appears with their name. As each name appears, the footage briefly flashes back to their first gala, then returns to the present.
Chyron: Richard Grayson
Flashback:
A much younger Dick arriving at his first gala beside Bruce, charming every person in the room.
Cut to present day:
Dick smiles at the camera easily, waving at the camera like he’s done this his entire life.
Chyron: Jason Todd
Flashback:
Jason at his first event, looking a little bewildered, but impeccably dressed.
Cut to present:
Jason appears in the lineup, muttering something to Dick that makes him laugh.
Chyron: Timothy Drake
Flashback:
Tim at his first gala, politely answering questions he clearly prepared for.
Cut to present:
Tim joins the row beside his husband, Conner, who looks extremely pleased to be there.
The photographer tries to arrange everyone again, “Just—please—stand in the order we practiced.”
Bruce smiles serenely, “No one here remembers that order,” then continues talking as if he wasn’t casually ruining this photographer’s day.
Chyron: Damian Wayne
Flashback:
Damian’s first gala. He looks about nine or ten. Standing stiffly beside Bruce, expression serious while the cameras flash.
Cut to present:
Damian steps into the frame looking disgruntled and also looking off to the side at someone off camera. As the camera settles, a boy wanders into frame beside him.
It takes a second, but then a chyron: Jonathan Kent (?) as he continues talking to Damian about something completely unrelated to the photo. Neither of them seems concerned about the chaos.
Behind them, Alfred quietly appears, “Master Jonathan,” he says calmly, guiding Jon out of the frame with gentle efficiency.
Jon freezes and looks at the camera like he only just realized there were cameras there, Damian doesn’t even bother looking up and only rolls his eyes with a sigh.
The photographer says, “Fine, good enough,” and you see the flash go off.
The image freezes on the finished photo.

Damian stands stiffly near the center looking deeply unimpressed with the entire process. Behind him, Alfred is still gently steering Jon Kent out of the frame while Jon looks directly at the camera like he has just realized he absolutely should not be in this photograph.

In the editing room, a producer watches the clip again. Ten years of footage condensed into thirty seconds.
“Still can’t believe we got them all in one shot,” someone says.
Another producer rewinds the moment where Alfred escorts Jon off screen. “Did we mean to include that?”
A pause. Then a shrug. “I mean…It’s real…it’s supposed to be reality tv, right?”
They leave it in.
