"For a long time, Willow hated herself. She hated the feelings that bubbled up inside her; she hated having something that she needed to hide; she hated proving her dad right. It's better than it used to be, hatred simmering down into disdain, disdain simmering down into neutrality. She decided that she could just go about her life ignoring it— shove the thoughts, the feelings, the truth away, and pretend that she's 'normal'. Of course, that's not exactly been working out. She's not naive nor desperate enough to think that this stupid course will change her— if she wasn't able to change herself, no one else can."

Willow just needs to keep her head down until graduation, and then she can escape her hometown for good. Unfortunately for her, nothing in her life ever seems to go to plan. When her father suddenly sends her off to True Directions, a conversion camp, she's forced to face everything she's been desperately trying to avoid.
