“Sorry about this, man.”
It was all the warning Etho got before Tango’s hand reached up, hitting the side of Etho’s mask directly on the button that forced it to detach from his face. There wasn’t time to think, not with those people after them, so as soon as the mask was pulled away from his face, Etho was already leaning in.
It was kind-of embarrassing how many times Tango and Etho found themselves in this situation.
When there was a bounty on someone's head, they tended to resort to desperate measures when cornered. Tango tasted like redstone and something more, blood from the fight they just got out of leaving Etho’s mouth with a metal feeling that he was sure he would be tasting hours after. People rushed by them, hunters and just random people pushing. The streets were always busy this time of night, with the neon lights and advertisements showing off the newest aesthetics someone could add to their bodies. Tango himself had a chip that was attempting to connect to Etho’s at this moment, wanting to send a feedback loop of what he was feeling for Etho to experience.
“Not right now, dude.” Etho mumbled against Tango’s lips, pushing him up against the brick wall, listening to more footsteps thunder past them. The boots sounded heavier than the ones before, these once definitely had some form of blasters on them. “This is not recreational kissing, you know.”
The comment had Tango giggling, the noise filled nerves that were pushed down to plant kisses down Etho’s neck. It caused him to throw back his head, sharpened teeth nipping far too high up to hide normally, probably because Tango was an asshole. “I forgot, you’re just such a good kisser.”
“Could do with less sarcasm.”
“Mhm.” Tango dropped his head onto Etho’s shoulder, both of them listening to the emptying street for a moment before he nodded once. “I think we’re clear.” He said next, pulling away just so he could stare at Etho more fully. He adjusted Etho’s mask back around his nose, hitting the button again to get it to seal back onto his face.
Breathing was easier with the mask, but when Etho was staring at Tango with kissed stained lips in the neon lights of the city, he found it hard to breathe anyways. The city was always loud, but with the two of them like this, it was easy to tune it out. Tango’s chip tried to link with Etho’s again, making him chuckle before wrapping his arm around his shoulders. “Let's get this money home.” Etho said instead of voicing his sappy thoughts. “We got way more places to hit tonight.”
He was pretty sure Tango knew them anyway.
