"Close the door behind you."
The command didn't have to be verbalized, given Tojiko already knew it'd have to be done. But she liked the sound of her prince giving her orders - and her prince knew all of what she liked.
It was the eve of when their plan for immortality would be undertaken. As part of it, they'd temporarily have to "die" in order to break the systems of life and death. For an unknown amount of time, they'd have to hibernate. With the clock ticking, Tojiko and her prince wanted to make the most of their remaining time together in this life. Because besides having to sleep apart for years, the terms of their lives would be different once they awakened. They would not be a regent of Japan and consort anymore. Who knew what kind of world they'd even come back to, if it'd be the same as they remembered, if there would even be princes and consorts anymore...
Tonight wasn't about those concerns, however. It was the opposite - doing their best not to think about it. Doing their best to affirm that, no matter what happened during the hermitization and their awakening, they were lovers. Soulmates.
She was one of many consorts and wives. Yet she was the only one who was approached with this plan. The only one who would follow the prince into another life, into eternity...
Tojiko's chin was cupped the moment the door closed, her prince having swiftly closed the distance in the meantime.
"Good. Then let's get started."
