Summary
The year is 2893; Humanity's first, only, and largest colony ship, the UESC Marathon, went dark for hundreds of years until it suddenly sent a distress signal to Sol.
When the megacorporations responsible for investing in the Marathon arrived at the colony on Tau Ceti IV, they found all 30,000 colonists missing. Now, the factions involved with the Marathon's journey fight the United Earth Space Council and each other to salvage what remains of the ghost colony.The megacorps' tool to perform this illegal act are Runners; former humans whose psyche has been digitized, and uploaded into a biosynthetic body known as a Shell. Bound to the megacorps through piles of debt, these Runners risk their near-endless lives over and over again in an unending cycle of death and rebirth.
One runner finds herself grappling with her degrading, broken, and partly foreign psyche, all whilst finding herself and her crew at the center of a conspiracy surrounding the colonists' disappearance.
