Work Text:

Teagan had already passed out all of the invites for her sleepover. She hoped that all, or at least most of them, were able to come. She sat on a bean bag and looked at the snacks and board games, neatly stacked around the room, that she'd gotten for the sleepover. Teagan decided to have one of those mini Hershey's bars while she waited, and got a small glass of milk to go with it.

Teagan was half-way through her chocolate when she heard a knock on her bedroom door. She got up and opened it, happy to see that it was... Poppy!

"Hey, girl! I didn't expect you to come so early! Come in, come in!" Teagan greeted Poppy, opening the door further to let her in. "So, since you're the first here, what do you wanna do while we wait?"

"Hmm... I guess we could just chat for a bit," Poppy replied. "Oh, you got candy?" She pointed toward the chocolate bar that Teagan was holding.

"Yup! I do! I have a bucketful, since I know you guys love your chocolate. Heh!" Teagan reached over to her right side of the bean bag and pulled out a bucket. It was pumpkin-shaped--The same bucket that Teagan had used for Trick-Or-Treating almost two months ago. "Take as much as you want, I have plenty more in my cabinet. I can just refill it whenever needed."

"Great!" Poppy gleamed as she pulled the pumpkin bucket closer to her and started to look through it. She dug pretty deep before finding a Kit-Kat bar. "Ah, I love these things! Thanks for the candy, by the way. And for inviting me in the first place!"

"No worries, dear! I truly do enjoy having you and the other girls over! Hah! We always end up having so much fun," Teagan answered as she took a small sip from her glass of milk.

The two continued to lightly chat for about 5 minutes before hearing another knock at the door. "Can I come in?" A familiar voice asked.

"Hold on just a moment, Poppy. I gotta answer this." Teagan told her before gently placing her glass and chocolate on the floor and rushing to the door. She carefully opened it. "Ah! Why hello, Scraps! Come in, come in! You're one of the first ones here, haha!"

Scraps entered the room, looking around in awe. "Wow! You must've decorated this place even more than last time, because it looks even more fantastic!" Scraps commented. "Where should I put my bag? And what about Poppy's bag, too?" She asked Teagan, pointing toward Poppy's bag, which she had right next to her.

"Oh--Anywhere you want, really, but I also do have a spare closet that you two can use?" Teagan noted.

"Thanks, Teagan! You're so sweet," Scraps complimented. "I'll put my bag in the closet."

"Me too!" Poppy agreed. "Lets go,"

Scraps and Poppy walked to the closet together and placed their bags there, then returned to where Teagan was. The three girls talked together, and Scraps picked out a Kit-Kat from the candy bucket as well. Teagan heard yet another knock at the door, and once about 30 minutes had passed (it was now 5pm), everyone that she invited had arrived.

"I'm so glad all of you could make it tonight!" Teagan announced, expressing her gratitude to the group of toons. "I truly do appreciate it."

"Of course, girl!" Glisten said. "Your slumber parties are always great. You're quite good at being a host!"

"Hah! I never thought I'd live to see the day where you glaze anyone but yourself! Regardless, thanks for the compliments. Now that we're all here, you guys can just do whatever! I even got us some board games--" Teagan pointed to the corner behind her. "--for us to try. I'm gonna be getting ice cream, which flavors do y'all want?"

"Ooh! Cookies and cream!" Scraps yelped.

"Butter pecan!" Poppy added.

"Just plain vanilla is fine for me." Glisten continued.

"Birthday cake, if you have it?" Gigi asked. Connie nodded as Gigi added, "Me and Connie both want it."

"Chocolate is fine." Bobette replied. She also was going to be sharing, but with Ginger and Brightney.

The line of ice-cream requests continued on. Brightney was the only toon who didn't get any--she said she wasn't in the mood for it--and Glisten called her a grandma for it. "Tsk tsk, Brightney! You needa loosen up for once and just have some fun. I don't think I've ever seen you have anything sweet before." Glisten scoffed.

Brightney sighed. "Yeah, I know. But maybe later."

Glisten gossiped with Poppy and Teagan while Brightney and Scraps lightly chatted. Connie and Gigi were telling each other jokes and laughing so hard that they were wheezing--Very hard. Connie kept adding onto the piles of jokes, which just made Gigi laugh even harder. Gigi was clutching her stomaching and gripping the carpet for dear life because of how harsh her laughs were. "HAHAHA--Connie, I can't--*HIC*--OH MY GOD, This is just *HIC* too funny!"

Meanwhile, Bobette, Ginger, and Brightney were having a casual conversation. Bobette let Ginger have most of the ice cream, since she and Brightney weren't too hungry. Ginger would occasionally ask Gigi if she was actually okay, but Gigi insisted that she was fine. Eventually, Connie stopped adding to the joke to let Gigi breathe a little bit. Ginger quite enjoyed the ice cream, and although Brightney had previously insisted that she wasn't hungry, she'd sometimes eat small spoonfuls of it. It was good, but Brightney just didn't want an entire bowl of it right now.

"It's my turn now, Connie." Gigi smugly smirked at her. She started by making a joke, one that she knew Connie couldn't NOT laugh at, and then kept adding more and more funny-bits to it. She wanted to see how long Connie could last before she was out of breath from laughing too hard. Teagan and Poppy's faces lit up with shock, more and more, as Glisten told them more and more gossip. Everybody seemed to be having a good time!

Finally, after roughly an hour of everybody doing their own stuff, they came together in a circle to play 'Truth or Scare'. Teagan giggled as she looked throughout the room. Everybody looked suspicious of the others--'Truth or Scare' usually ended up becoming pretty crazy. Even Connie and Gigi looked suspicious of each other--Especially suspicious of each other. The last time they played this, Connie had dared Gigi to do something absolutely insane, so Gigi had dared Connie to do something even more insane. The two were always trying to give each other the craziest dares--or rather, scares--possible. Finally, after about two minutes of uncomfortable silence, Teagan asked, "Sooo... Who wants to go first?"

"ME!!" Connie, Gigi, Glisten, and... Ginger all yelped at the same time. The three before looked at Ginger confusedly. Ginger usually didn't participate that much in 'Truth or Scare', so it was rather weird that she had the sudden desire to be the FIRST, of all things. Teagan smirked and said, "Ginger, you seem eager to go first. Since the other three go quite a bit, I'll let YOU be first this time!" and giggled.

"Really? Dang, I didn't expect you to do that... Well, for my first one, I'll pick... YOU!" Ginger pointed toward Poppy. "Truth or Scare, Poppy?"

"W-WAIT? Me?! I didn't think I'd get chosen so quickly, heh, but... Hmm, Truth!" Poppy stammered.

"Alrighty! Hmm... Which one of us do you think would survive a haunted house, and why?" Ginger asked. She stared at Poppy, in the eyes, smugly. Ginger knew that this would be difficult for her, since she was sort of a people-pleaser.

"Oh! Err..." Poppy glanced at the curious faces all around her. "I think that... Connie would probably survive for the longest. Because she could just turn invisible and leave! Plus, she's probably already part of the haunted house in the first place."

Connie smirked. "Ahh, yes! I know, I'm just so cool like that."

Poppy sighed out of relief, since her turn was over.

"Alright, we'll be going clockwise, so... BRIGHTNEY! You're up next! Who do you wanna ask Truth or Scare?" Teagan asked, in her best projecting voice.

"Huh? Oh, right!" Brightney closed the book that she'd been reading and placed it aside. "Well, I guess I'll ask... Erm, GLISTEN!" Brightney blurted out and pointed to him.

"OH! Okay! Bring it on, darling!" Glisten gasped.

"Truth... or Scare?" Brightney sheepishly asked.

"Hmm... Truth? What have 'ya got in store for me?" Glisten asked, curious but smirking.

"Is there anyone in this room that you would NOT trust with your secrets?" Brightney questioned. Glisten looked around the room suspiciously.

"Well, if I had to choose... IT'D DEFINITELY BE CONNIE!" Glisten bursted out.

Connie gasped. "Ohh! I'm sure, buddy! I wouldn't trust you, either, zesty-boy!" She sarcastically snipped at him. Connie giggled after her comment, but Teagan scolded her, "Guys, guys! Calm down! I don't want a fight here!". Glisten let out a hmph! at Teagan's reply. "Let's just continue on, okay?" Teagan asked. "It appears that... I'm ne-"

"WAIT!! Can I go next instead, preetttyyy please?" Connie begged. Teagan looked at her, knowing that she'd probably just ask Glisten, but allowed her to do so anyway. Teagan muttered, "Sure. You can go next, I guess."

"Thankss... Hmm, oh whoever shall I pick?" Connie sarcastically commented. "Ohhh, I believe that I shall pick... GLISTEN! Haha, Truth or Scare, buddy?"

"So cruel to me!" Glisten half-jokingly commented, huffing out a sigh. "Hmph! I shall choose... SCARE! Do your worst, Hauntie-Pants!"

"You dare call me THAT?! Alright, then." Connie frustratedly replied. She smirked at Ginger, who was closest to the door (and the light switch), and Ginger turned off the lights. Glisten retorted, "This the best you got, Casper? You really think that turning off the lights is a scare?!", but Connie remained silent. After about 30 seconds, he began to get up to turn the lights back on, but heard "Hellooooo, Glistennnn..." whispered into his ear and YELPED. Poppy, Ginger, and Brightney couldn't help but laugh, and Bobette lightly chuckled. Gigi was laughing incredibly hard, slapping her own knee as her lungs tried to support her enough to keep up with the humor (💀).

"EEEEEKKK!! Goddamn it, Peekaboo!" Glisten cursed under his breath. Just before he could turn around and try to find Connie, Ginger turned the lights back on, and everyone was in their original game spots. "Not. FUNNY!!"

"Oh, it was VERRYYYY funny, mirror-boy! You just don't get it because it's happening to you for once!" Connie retorted.

After that, Glisten held a grudge against Connie for the next week. He never dared to answer 'Scare' when she was asking him during that God-forsaken game ever again.
