Chapter 1: The night of the incident (pt 1)

Chapter Text

It was late at night; Shane had just gotten back from the set of the new movie of the X-Squad franchise. Rose had invited him to her room to have dinner together, after a long day of sweating in latex costumes some comfort food sounded amazing. The hotel television in the background filled the silence as they eat what seems like food for at least five people?
“Sorry, maybe I got too exited about the food?” Rose mumbled around the food in her mouth.
Shane was distracted by what seemed like a hockey game highlights from last week’s Stanley Cup Finals as he replied “Eh, maybe we can bring the leftover on set tomorrow, it would probably vanish within seconds.”
Rose pushed the plate of fries towards Shane but all he did was push it back. “God, I forgot you are weird and do not like fries. Who doesn’t like fires?” He rolled his eyes at the comment he had heard almost everytime they went out to eat.
They stood in the balcony wanting to get some fresh air. Slowly but steadily, a small group of fans started gathering below them. At first it was fine just a handful of people and being in a happy mood, Shane started throwing paper planes, with messages in them. Rose was recording the thing, the chaos, the “cuteness aggression” that she was feeling apparently and the spontaneous decision of throwing a clementine.
Yes, a clementine as in the fruit. Well, what was Shane supposed to do, they had ran out of pages but there was a perfect fruit basket right there. While it wasn’t the perfect choice, it was better than throwing strawberries that were for some reason next to melons and grapes. It was rare for Shane to feel so giddy and spontaneous, so he let it happen.
Only maybe it was a bad idea? He threw the clementine and stepped slightly back as if it would what bounce back? Explode?
That’s when Rose started laughing like crazy? What had he done? God maybe he threw it too hard? He looked down to see a gorgeous, a little too perfect looking, confused face looking up at him. For second he forgot what he was doing, where he was. But when Rose whispered “Oh my god!” in his ear, everything came back.
Suddenly everything was a blur, all he could see was a perfect set of curls, those golden, fluffy curls. Shane’s eyes moved down his body and his brain short-circuited even more? Was that even possible?
They both opened their mouths as if to say something but a beautiful woman with red curls pulled his arm and pulled the man and he followed while still looking up and marinated eye contact until he took a turn down the street.
Rose pulled him back and they both shouted “Oh My God!”
