Chapter Text
his pants sit low, going way under his navel.
with the obviously too small shirt he looks like wearing a crop top.
the belt he wears is shining in the light, two rows of rivets.
he leans against his locker, chewing on his piecred lip.
his brown hair is cut into a short unstyled wolfcut.
smeared black eyeliner under his eye underlines his mocha eyes.
his nose, man his nose, his nose is different than other noses, instead of this standard slide-like curve, his nose is curved into the direct opposite direction.
a black ring in each side of his ears, a small silver "T" hanging from his neck.
black nail polish on each finger, probably already a week old, his hands covered in dark grayish handwarmers.
the obvious too small orange shirt draws attention to his unbelievably muscular upper body.
his pants full of holes.
well this was the first thing tyler joseph saw as he stepped into the new highschool.
tylers parents decided to move into a new state during summer vacation. his dad got moved to this ohio state because of work. tyler dosent really know what his dad's working for but there's not really any interest in that boy to ask his dad what he's working. he and his dad don't maintain the best father-son relationship which results to them not really speaking with each other.
anyways, tyler wasn't really happy about moving because he had to leave all his friends behind. he loves his friends and was about to sue someone because he had to leave them. what if they already forgot about him? maybe he'll call them after school.
his mother drove him to school today. she told him to have a good first day, he will find new friends fast, hes a pretty social guy! (that's what she thinks), tyler just smiled awkwardly and stepped out of the vehicle.
tyler looked around in pure disgust, this is the ugliest school he had ever seen and except his elementary and middle school he hadn't seen much schools. at least the students seemed to have tried their best spraying these ugly ass gray concrete walls. tyler took a closer look at the graffitis, admiring every single one of them.
he reaches the door, opens it. the boy coughts, sticky teenager air hits him right into to his face.
before even taking a step in this stinky building he sees a boy like he had never seen before.
his pants sit low, almost showing the top of his intinimate part.
with the obviously too small shirt he looks like wearing a crop top.
the belt he wears is shining in the light, two rows of rivets.
he leans against his locker, chewing on his piecred lip.
his brown hair is cut into a short unstyled wolfcut.
smeared black eyeliner under his eye underlines his mocha eyes.
his nose, man his nose, his nose is different than other noses, instead of this standard slide-like curve, his nose is curved into the direct opposite direction.
a black ring in each side of his ears, a small silver "T" hanging from his neck.
black nail polish on each finger, probably already a week old, his hands covered in dark grayish handwarmers.
the obvious too small orange shirt draws attention to his unbelievably muscular upper body.
his pants full of holes.
tyler dosent notice how he's staring at this guy till he went up to him. very close to his face, he stops. wow.. he likes his, he likes his everything. tylers heart starts racing. pure beauty infront of him rn, ngl.
"salutations, dude, you new?"
his deep calm voice asks. tyler shakes his head to stop staring.
"no? crazy, i've never seen you before", he laughs. tyler shivers, this boys laugh is climbing all the way up to his bones.
"what? no- wait i am new, actually-", tylers voice stumbles, "sorry for the confusion-"
the older boy laughs again. full of embarrassment tyler looks to the ground.
"its alright, dude, i dont mind. whats your name, new man?"
he grins, his piercing clenches against his teeth.
"joseph, tyler joseph.", tyler answers.
"tyler..", he nodds, "cool name, dude. i'm josh."
he looks so much like a josh. tyler could've thought.
"just josh?", tyler asks carefully.
"actually Joshua Dun but who cares? just call me josh.", he smiles.
tyler blushes lightly again.
josh tears him out of his staring (again), "fuck, already five past eight, lets go, dont wanna be late on your first day, eh?"
tyler shakes his head again, follows the older boy into a unexpectedly beautiful classroom. "wow.."
"you can sit next to me! i usually sit alone anyways.", josh claims, pointing to the last row.
"thanks..", tyler smiles, follows him again.
tyler really could have died of boredom in this class.
the only thing what happend that stays in his mind is him correcting his teacher four times that his name is tyler, not joseph. everytime he did this he could hear josh giggle behind him. made him smile.
"what a dumbass", tyler hears josh mumble.
everything in this math lesson was pretty boring, the teacher has a boring voice, boring way to teach and an awful handwriting.
thankfully josh did improve his mood during the lesson a bit.
even though he knows nothing about this guy and he nothing about tyler, they kind of became friends.
josh told tyler everything he needed to know about this school. from the best places to fuck, do drugs or smoke without getting caugth to when each teacher arrives and who goes with who (like in a sex or romantic way). every word josh said was music in tylers ears. maybe he'll write a song about him as soon as he gets home.
tyler noticed that josh never really looked him into the eyes, always slightly to the left or right so that people who wouldn't observe his face as intensively as tyler, wouldn't notice. clever.
well, tyler dosent remember what happend later but what he does remember is them exchanging their phone numbers. josh told him to be in school an hour early tomorrow. without questioning tyler nodded in agreement.
"see you tomorrow, ty!", with these words josh hoped on his bicycle and drove off.
tyler followed with his gaze.
"ty", he mumbles.
josh called him 'ty', tyler smiles. cute. not even his parents dare to nickname him. they even call him by his middle name 'robert' sometimes.
does his mother get him? he looks around, dosent seem so. well. he looked up his new adress on google maps and followed the blue line on his phone. a message from josh popped up, just as he reached his house. tyler to give it a quick look before going inside. "can i come over?" thats where they were already? tyler smiles, his new friend already wants to meet? cool. really. tyler replied that it would cause no problem if he'd come over, his parents dont mind.
they really dont. as long as they wouldnt do forbidden stuff?
tyler entered his house.
"i'm home!", he yelled, no answer. maybe they're still at work. he looks at his phone, yep, still at work, its only half past two. his brothers arent here either, means he and josh would have noone to disturb them.
tyler rushed up the stairs after taking of his boots and yanked his backpack in one corner of his room. every thought of calling his old friends vanished and got replaced with josh coming over.
he isnt sure what this feeling is. everytime he thinks about josh small butterflies fly around his stomach and his mood automatically lifts, even though he only knows josh for six hours or so. his mom always tells him that love is a long-term feeling which can't be a result of knowing someone for only six hours. therefore tyler scratches the thought of maybe being in love with josh. welp.
he looks around his room, fuck, he gotta get that room cleaned up before josh arrives!

josh went home late that night. its already two in the morning and tyler fell asleep an hour ago.
"my parents will be mad", he whispers as he packed his stuff together. without taking the risk to wake somebody of the josephs up, josh climbs out of tylers window.
"see you tomorrow, baby", he whispers before closing the window and riding off with his bike. oh how much he would have payed to just stay here.
luckily, well more not so luckily tyler isnt living that far from his house.
the boy hid his bike in the bush next to their house and opened their front door, already hearing his parents argue again. their voices muted suddenly, as he closed the door.
"joshua, where have you been.", his mother yells at him. his dad ready to hit their son again.
"i was at a friend's house, no need to worry.", josh tries to respond nonchalantly.
"without our consent? you know that you're not allowed to visit other people without us knowing and what have you done to your cross necklace?"
his mother grabbed his necklace and pulled as hard as possible so that it would snap from his neck. he hisses quietly.
"joshua william dun, why did you file down the the upper half of your cross? why are you destroying christs dying place? dont you know how sinful and disrespectful that is? why would you disrespect our lord, boy?"
josh's father shook his head in disappointment.
"look at you, what have you done, kid! your nails-", she grabs his hand. josh quickly pulls away.
"dont touch me.", he hisses, received a blow from his father.
"shut your mouth, boy.", barked his father.
"sorry, sir, sorry, ma'am.", scoffed the boy, his parents not convinced. josh’s father thought another hit would get the boy together. which didnt really helped. josh still standing there like a slut, looking at his parents like his look could kill them on the spot.
"joshua, apologize to your mother."
josh just looked at his dad in pure anger.
"for what? being myself? fuck you!", he spitted on the ground, "i'd rather fuck christ. i dont give a fuck about your damn religion!", the boy literally screamed at his parents at this point, his mother gasping loud.
"joshua william dun, you will never, ever say such things in my household again.", his dad shouts back, just as mad as the boy is.
he hasnt even got out of the entrance zone of the house as the belt hit him hard. more than once, with each time hitting his skin harder.
the boy drops to his knees, refusing to cry.
his mother just watches in pure spitefulness. josh looks up to her with tears in his eyes.
"make him stop..", he cried quietly.
the woman just looked at him like a stranger would lay infront of her.
josh loses his touch to reality again.
eventually the pain would even go away as long as he'd imagine himself somewhere safe.
where is this place?
where is he safe?
josh blacks out.
