*Our story begins on a peaceful day in the Danger Rangers HQ in Mount Rushmore, we see Gail sitting at a desk, making miniature animals out of clay, humming to herself as she does so*
Gail: Just gotta make a couple more adjustments, and…there.
*She finishes a clay figure of Burble, she sighs blissfully*
Gail: It’s almost as cute as him.
*She then hears Burble’s voice right behind her*
Burble: What’re you up to, Nimbus?
*Gail yelps in surprise and whirls around, Burble is right behind her*
Gail: Oh! Burble! Uh…nothing much.
*Burble sees the figures she’s made, there’s also a seal, a horse, and a hamster*
Burble: Did you make all these? Dang, you’ve got some good skills.
*Gail blushes a bit, she nervously rubs her arm*
Gail: Th-Thanks.. It's something I like to do. I've been making clay figures since I was a kid.
*She chuckles nervously*
Gail: Kind of silly, huh?
Burble: No way, we all have our own talents. They make us special.
*Gail is touched by this*
Gail: Aw, that’s so sweet of you.
*Burble then sees the clay figure of himself*
Burble: Is that me?
Gail: Uh, maybe?
Burble: It looks great! You gave me the uniform and everything. All the little details really sell it.
*Gail smiles at him and blushes*
Gail: Th-Thank you, I put a lot of effort into my hobby. That was actually supposed to be a present for you.
Burble: Really? Thanks!
*She then clears her throat*
Gail: So…there’s something I’ve been.. meaning to tell you. *She says in a timid tone*
Burble: Yeah, what is it?
Gail: Well..I uh..I-
*Before she can finish her sentence, SAVO’s alarm goes off*
SAVO: Danger alert! Danger alert!
Burble: Hold that thought, we gotta answer that!
*He runs off, Gail looks disappointed, but she knows there’s something bigger at stake, so she follows him*
Gail: I guess I’ll just tell him later, if I even tell him at all.. *She thinks to herself*
*The rest of the Danger Rangers approach SAVO’s big screen*
Gabriela: What’s the problem, SAVO?
SAVO: There are two hikers traveling up Mount Everest, and they are getting dangerously close to an area that is particularly prone to avalanches.
*On his screen, he shows two pandas going up the snowy mountain, both are wearing oxygen masks, Burble’s eyes widen*
Burble: Hey! That’s my mom and dad!
Gail: Wait, really?!
Squeeky: Yeah, Bam and Patches! Looks like they just can’t stay outta trouble for long!
Burble: Squeek!
Gail: You’ve had to save them before?
Squeeky: Oh, have we ever.
Kitty: Let’s just say they’re real daredevils.
Gail: Is that where Burble gets his adventurous spirit from?
Burble: You could say that.
*Fallbot then peeks in, he’s wearing a really puffy snowsuit*
Fallbot: Did someone say Mt. Everest?! Cool! Then we can make snowmen! And snow angels! And-
Squeeky: Geez, read the room, man! We’ve got no time for that!
Fallbot: Sorry, I miss winter already.
*He then steps out, because of his big snowsuit, he ends up tripping and falling to the floor*
Fallbot: Who put that there?
SAVO: Your assignment is to keep them from being caught in an avalanche or any other perils up there.
*Burble frowns in concern*
Gail: U-Um.. Correct if I'm wrong, but.. Isn't Mount Everest super steep, and cold..?
Sully: Because of that, I think you, Burble, and Kitty should go, since you can handle the cold better. Not to mention me, since I’m so brave and tough.
*He does a proud pose, Kitty rolls her eyes*
Burt: Besides, I’m cold-blooded, so I wouldn’t be able to survive the snow anyway.
Gabriela: He’s got a point, my bones are also very hollow, so I’ve got to sit this one out.
Squeeky: My teensy body can’t handle it either.
Burt: However, I’ve got something useful for each of you.
*He leaves for a moment and comes back with oxygen tanks and masks*
Gail: Uh…what’s this for?
Burt: The air is very low up there, you need this in order to breathe.
*Gail gulps nervously*
Gail: Wh-What if we can’t do it? What if it’s too dangerous, even for us? What if-
*Though he’s anxious too, Burble puts on a brave face for her and takes her hand*
Burble: Nimbus, we know our stuff. We’ve been through a lot and we always come out stronger.
*Gail blushes and looks up at him*
Sully: Yeah, we’ve been through way worse, this is small compared to that.
Kitty: And we’ll be there to support each other. You’re not alone, you know. No one is.
*Gail looks at them and smiles*
Gail: Thanks, guys. I’ll do it for them. And for you.
Burble: That’s the spirit.
*His smile fades and he looks worried*
Burble: We’d better hurry, too, my folks might be in trouble by the time we get there.
*They all run to the launch room and get into the hovercraft, Sully gets into the driver’s seat and Kitty sets their coordinates, and they all set off, the ship exits a monument’s mouth and flies through the sky*
*Burble looks out the window, he’s a little apprehensive, Gail looks at him in concern*
Gail: How’re you holding up?
Burble: …I’m fine.
Gail: I don’t know, you don’t look fine to me.
*He sighs*
Burble: ..I'm just worried about my parents.. I don't want anything to happen to them..
*Gail feels bad about how nervous she was before, as she realizes that it didn’t help, so she puts her hand on his and gives him a reassuring smile*
Gail: We'll get them to safety, I promise.
Burble: I hope so.
*As the ship flies through the sky, we start to see Mount Everest in the distance, a snowstorm is beginning to brew and the coordinates are starting to get corrupted on the screen*
Kitty: Catnabbit! Now I can’t see where they are!
*Burble looks even more worried*
Sully: Looks like we gotta step out and look for them from here.
*Kitty parks the hovercraft on a slope, everyone puts on their breathing apparatuses and files out, Gail takes a deep breath and sighs*
Gail: Ok.. So uh.. How do we get around this mountain without slipping? And it’s kinda hard to see.
Burble: I think I’ve got it, just wear these.
*He starts handing everyone spiked shoes and goggles*
Burble: The shoes are called crampons, the steel will give us some traction.
*They all strap them on*
Gail: Wow, what don’t you Danger Rangers have?
Sully: Heh, you name it and we’ve got it.
*Gail chuckles at this*
Gail: Good to know, Captain.
Sully: I love when you call me that! Why doesn’t anyone else do it?
Kitty: Because you’re more than just a captain, you’re my Blue.
*She nuzzles his cheek and he chuckles*
Sully: Aw, Pinky.
*With that, they all start their trek forward, Gail takes a deep breath and sighs*
Gail: Thankfully, we don't have to worry about making noise up here.
Sully: We don’t?
Gail: Loud noises don’t actually cause avalanches, that’s just a myth.
Burble: Wow, I didn’t know that either. That’s real impressive.
*He pats her on the head and ruffles her hair, she giggles and blushes, Sully and Kitty smile at each other knowingly and wink*
*Just ahead of them, there’s a big frozen lake*
Gail: Alright, we should stay about five feet away from each other just in case the ice gives way beneath us.
*Kitty look at it cautiously*
Kitty: Who should go first?
Sully: I will! Everyone, get behind me.
*He goes first, Kitty is at the back of the line, Gail is ahead of her, and Burble is in front of Gail*
Kitty: Ok..I can do this.
*She slowly puts her paw on the ice, she finds that she isn’t slipping at all*
Kitty: These shoes really do help. Thanks, Burble.
Burble: No prob.
Sully: This should be a cinch.
*Just then, they hear a crack*
Gail: …What was that?
Burble: No, don’t tell me…
*He turns around and sees that the ice is cracking behind them*
Burble: Guys!! Run!!
*Gail screams in fright and they all start to sprint ahead to outrun the cracks, Kitty then trips and the cracks get dangerously close to her*
Kitty: Guys! Wait!!
*At this point, the others have managed to get to the shore, Sully turns around and sees her*
Sully: Pinky!!
Gail: I’ve got this!
*She slides towards Kitty on her abdomen and takes her hand, she pulls Kitty forward and they finally reach the shore before the ice fully cracks apart, Burble watches in amazement, Kitty pants heavily*
Kitty: Thank you, Gail.
Sully: Dang, that was close! If you weren’t so good at belly-bogganing, my poor Pinky would’ve been a goner!
*Burble looks at Gail with reverence*
Burble: A true Danger Ranger knows when to act fast. I’m proud of you.
*Gail beams*
Gail: Aw, I just did what I had to do for my friend.
*Burble hears yodeling from afar*
Male Voice: Yodelay-hee-hoo…
Burble: It’s my folks! They’re alright!
Sully: Well, let’s get to them before anything else can happen!
*They press on, only for the snow beneath Gail to give way beneath her, she starts to fall into a crevasse and she screams*
Burble: Nimbus!!
*He takes her by the wrist, Gail looks up at him with a scared look on her face*
Burble: I've got you, just hang on!
*Gail’s look of fear vanishes as she looks at Burble, her eyes glisten as he pulls her back up*
Burble: Are you okay?
Gail: I’m more than okay, now that you’ve got me.
*She realizes what she just said*
Gail: …Did I just say that out loud?
Kitty: Yes. Yes you did.
*Gail turns beet red and covers her face with a yelp, Sully and Kitty look at her smugly, while Burble just looks flattered*
Burble: I gotta say, it feels nice to hold you.
*Gail’s entire body runs red*
Gail: …Let’s just go! *She says in a flustered high-pitched tone*
*And with that, she walks off with her hands covering her face, Burble chuckles lightly and Sully and Kitty smirk at each other, the yodeling gets clearer until the pandas are in view, Burble’s expression brightens up*
Burble: Mom!! Dad!!
*He runs over to them, it is now clear that they’re dwarfed by him, they turn towards him*
Burble’s Mom: Baby Burb! My little boy!
*She squishes his cheeks*
Burble: Mom! I’m not little anymore. *He says in exasperation*
Burble’s Mom: That may be true, you’ll always be my baby.
*Gail looks touched by this, while Sully stifles a chuckle, Kitty elbows him*
Gail: Aww…
*Burble’s dad then turns to the others*
Burble's Dad: Hey! And I see you've brought your friends with you! Including that seal.
*Sully rolls his eyes*
Sully: Once again, Bam, I’m a sea lion.
Bam: Oh! Sorry. I always forget that.
Sully: So do most people.
*Gail timidly waves at both of them*
Gail: H-Hi..
*Burble’s mom gasps*
Burble’s Mom: You never told me you had a girlfriend!
*Gail gets so flustered by this that her face goes red*
Gail: Girlfriend?! What?!
*Sully bursts out laughing, Kitty puts her hands over her mouth and stifles a giggle, Burble chuckles awkwardly and blushes too, he puts his hand on the back of his head*
Burble: Uh, Mom, we’re not dating. …Yet.
Burble’s Mom: Oh! My bad.
Gail: I wish we would, though… *She whispers*
Burble: What did you say?
Gail: N-Nothing!
*Bam looks at his wife and whispers into her ear*
Bam: Patches, do you think-
Patches: Yes, yes I do. *She says with an excited grin on her face*
Gail: O-Okay! Let’s get you back to the ship before you get into any trouble!
*With that, she starts walking back, everyone exchanges smug looks, while Burble just looks flattered by Gail’s feelings*
Burble: She’s so cute when she gets all flustered like that. *He thinks to himself*
*They start to go downhill, after a period of awkward silence, a loud rumble is heard*
Bam: Are you hungry, Scout?
Patches: A little, Ridge, but that’s not me.
*Gail’s face falls as she realizes what this means, the ground then begins to shake*
Sully: What the heck’s going on?!
*The rumbling gets louder, they all turn around and witness an avalanche coming in their direction*
Gail: Avalanche!! Everyone follow me!!
*She belly-slides to the side of the path in an attempt to get out of the way of its flow, everyone follows her, just when the oncoming snow is getting especially close, Bam trips*
Bam: Help!!
Burble: Dad!!
*He runs over to him, noticing that the flowing snow is getting even closer, he throws Bam over to the others, and then the avalanche finally covers him*
Gail: BURBLE!! *She screams in anguish*
Patches and Bam: NO!!
*Sully and Kitty gasp in horror, when the flow stops, the Danger Rangers as well as Burble’s parents sprint over to where he was covered, Gail pants heavily in anxiety, only to shake her head*
Gail: No! Burble needs us!
Sully: I’ve got just the thing!
*He hands shovels to the others and they start digging their way through the snow*
Patches: Hold on, baby! We’re coming!!
*They eventually manage to unearth enough snow for Burble to finally emerge from it, he inhales deeply upon being free, tears well up in Gail's eyes and a smile appears on her face*
Gail: Burble! Oh, sweet snowcones! I was so worried about you!
Burble: It’s a good thing I knew to make an air pocket in front of me so I could breathe.
Kitty: Good thinking.
Burble: Are you okay, Dad? You’re not hurt, are you?
*Bam huffs at Burble in indignation*
Bam: Don’t ever do anything that reckless again! You could’ve been seriously hurt, or worse, we could’ve lost you! I just can’t stand the thought of such a thing!
*Burble looks down in shame*
Burble: Sorry. I didn’t want to lose you either.
*Gail looks at him in concern, she then turns her attention towards Bam*
Gail: Bam, I understand being frustrated, but I promise you, Burble isn't usually reckless like this, he's one of the safest people I've ever met, he was just scared of losing you, and I know exactly how he feels. I've lost family before myself, if I were in his shoes, I'd do the same thing.
*Burble looks at Bam sadly*
Burble: Besides, I was already scared for you and Mom. I don’t wanna lose my parents for the second time.
*Bam’s expression softens*
Bam: Oh, son…I really get that. I really am glad you saved me. Sorry I lost my temper there. I just…I love you a lot.
Gail: And I love you too, Blizzard.
*She realizes what she just said and she slaps her hands over her mouth*
Gail: Uh, I mean, um…as a friend, yeah.
*Burble looks at her in understanding*
Burble: Nimbus, you don’t have to hide it anymore. I already knew how you felt about me.
Kitty: Trust me, we all did.
Sully: Like, you just cannot hide it.
*Gail looks shocked by this*
Gail: …You what?! Why didn't you say anything?! *She asks in a flustered tone*
Burble: Well, I didn’t want to rush you. I wanted you to tell me on your own time.
*He then blushes a bit*
Burble: And besides, I was kinda shy about telling you how I felt, too. Ever since I first met you, you’ve blown me away with how brave you are. You’d do anything for your friends and family.
*Gail’s eyes widen*
Gail: Y-You mean…?
*Burble nods*
Burble: I love you too, Nimbus.
*Gail squeals in delight and practically tackles him in a hug, Burble yelps in surprise when she does so*
Gail: Oh, Blizzard!! I’m so happy!!
*Patches jumps for joy*
Patches: I knew it! Oh, my heart! My little boy just keeps growing up!
*Bam smiles in satisfaction, Kitty and Sully both fist bump each other*
Sully: Took her long enough.
Kitty: Better late than never, I think.
*Burble then looks at everyone else*
Burble: Thank you all for saving me. Even a Danger Ranger needs help sometimes.
Sully: No prob! Though I don’t need as much help.
*Kitty rolls her eyes*
Kitty: Deny it all you want, Blue..
*Everybody laughs, and with that, they all continue to head down the mountain*
Gail: Well, that confession didn’t go exactly as I had planned, but I’m glad it worked out the way it did. *She thinks to herself*
*Much later after Bam and Patches have been taken back home, the gang has returned to the Danger Rangers HQ, Burble and Gail are sitting on the former’s bed and looking at each other dreamily*
Gail: Want to…do this?
Burble: I was born ready.
*They lean in and kiss, their eyes then shoot open as they hear a familiar voice shouting in excitement*
Squeeky: I knew it!
*The two quickly turn to see Squeeky standing in the doorway, Burble looks shocked, while Gail looks mortified, her whole face turns redder than a tomato*
Burble: Sq-Squeeky?!
Gail: Ah! When did you get here?!
Squeeky: Oh, trust me, I’ve seen enough! I totally called it! Yeah!
*He then skips away triumphantly, Burble and Gail then look at each other awkwardly*
Burble: Next time, we keep the door locked.
Gail: Agreed..
