    Summary

Will Byers and Mike Wheeler are happily living the single college life in New York. That is, until Nancy and Jonathan's wedding invitation comes through the mail. Now suddenly they're both expected to have dates, but there's just one problem: Will hasn't told anyone he's broken up with his boyfriend, and Mike hasn't been able to be in a relationship that's lasted longer than one night.

So, to avoid their families' judgment, they decide to fake date each other.

'It’s just for Nancy’s wedding', they tell themselves. Just long enough to convince their families and friends that they are well-adjusted adults with thriving romantic lives.

They make the rules: No crossing boundaries, make it look convincing, and most importantly - never, ever get confused about what’s real and what’s just part of the act.

It would be that simple. If they weren’t sharing a room, or if they didn’t have years of history they’ve both been carefully ignoring, or if pretending to be in love didn’t come quite so easily.

Because fake dating your best friend is supposed to solve problems, not create new ones.

And it definitely isn’t supposed to feel this real.
