“Man arrested after climbing into pygmy hippo Moo Deng’s enclosure,” Dick suddenly spoke. Barbara looked up from her book and stared at him.
“What?”
“Moo Deng,” Dick shifted in the bed towards Barbara showing her an Instagram post on his phone. It’s from ABC News's account, the post is an image of a small shiny hippo with the headline Dick had just spoken in white text, “You know, the internet sensation, Moo Deng.”
Barbara smiled, “No I don’t, actually.”
“Guess you’re just not with it with the kids like me,” Dick sighed with a smug smirk and that elicited a full laugh out of Barbara. She shut her book, leaving a finger on her page.
“‘With it with the kids’ uh-huh,”
“You doubt my hip-ness, old woman.”
“Tell me about that thing you were trying to impress Damian with last week?”
“You mean my incredible Italian brainrot?” Dick raised an eyebrow. Barbara snorted at the memory of Damian threatening to exercise a demon from Dick.
“You’re an idiot,” she teased, endearment blanketing her voice.
“Yeah, but I make my girlfriend laugh,” Dick smiled.
“Go to sleep,”
Dick leaned over and kissed Barbara’s temple.
“I love you.”
“I love you too,”
