Chapter Text
Scott sat at this throne chair, overlooking the long hallway to the entrance of the castle he lived in. He was so bored. All his rich friends had moved out of Oakhurst maybe 100 years after turning them, sure maybe some visited. But it was so boring. The only good thing he still seemed to have was his new Fledgling and his butler.
Just as Scott began to get up to go get some food (humans) he watched the castle doors creak open. A young looking man walking into the long hallway, he was tall, and healthy looking with kind eyes. Compared to Scott, he was an angel. And he devoted himself to that title.
"Louis!" Scott gave a smile, finally some form of entertainment. "Come for more lessons?" He asked as Louis began walking towards him. His steps where heavy and tired, he was scared to feed from humans so he'd been starving himself. Not realizing he could just eat livestock.
"Ah.. Food.." Scott realized out loud to himself. Feeling almost pity for this new Fledgling. The man continued to stagger to him, weak. Pitiful. Scott had forgotten when someone is so dead set on something they do almost anything to keep towards that goal. Clearly, Louis had lasted longer then Scott thought he would without sinking his fangs into a human. He eyed Louis stumbling, he hadn't said anything.
THUD
Great. Now, Louis, was laying on Scott's mahogany floors. He sighed deeply, not wanting to move Louis he called his trusted butler.
"Abolish! Come in here real quick!" Like clockwork, Abolish was now standing in a doorway to his right, looking to the man on the floor then to Scott. Confused but not surprised. "Please take him to the guest room upstairs. And, if my mahogany floors are messed up expect him to get a beating later."
Then, Scott stood. Walking to the front doors and leaving the castle, leaving the unconscious Louis with Abolish. Very expected from Scott, and honestly. Abolish is surprised Scott didn't kick the 'sleeping' man on his way out. Maybe it was like the first time they met. Maybe Scott was becoming somewhat nice again. Yet that thought was quickly interrupted by looking back down at the man. Best get to it..
------
Scott is outside taking a walk through the skim forest. It wasn't grown much but it was something. He saw a few humans, then realizing he hadn't visited town in a while. Then he started walking to town. It was a long walk sure, but the sun was out and he didn't feel like turning into a bat.
When he eventually got to town he watched mothers scramble their kids into the houses, men standing outside trying to go about their normal day. He walked through the streets, stopping at one house watching it. The mother and children living there wasn't a problem.. The father on the other hand.. He'd tried to escape Oakhurst many times before only wanting to drag his wife along with him. Even Scott wasn't heartless enough to leave poor kids alone to fend for themselves. He walked up to the door of the building, knocking on it.
Soon a women answered, freezing at the sight of Scott. She looked horrified, bowing quickly like he was a king, might as well have been.
"Where is your husband?" Scott asked simply, not interested in messing with her nor frightened children if they saw. The women had a messy dress, looked underfeed, and probably malnourished. He glanced behind him to the farm not far, plenty of food. Enough to feed two whole towns through winter if needed, it wasn't even winter. Early summer. He looked back to the person, he saw a child behind her. Which he didn't bother paying attention to.
"He um.. Went to work.." She said, her head low, one hand in front of her and the other was holding her child back from seeing Scott. Understandable, but how could they not look at his pretty face?
"Lair." He said, he could figure out if someone was lying from a mile away. Maybe even further. It was so easy for him considering he was currently 800. He saw many things and a simple lie was nothing.
------
Abolish set a blanket over Louis, making sure he was comfortable in the guest bed. Even if it wasn't extremely nice. He sighed, then walked out of the room, down the hall, then finally reaching stairs to climb down. Which he did, descending the stairs and making it down, he looked around and heard the door open. Scott was home.
He stood near the entrance, watching Scott walk in with a man. Holding him by the hair and dragging him along. The man was screaming and struggling. Grabbing at anything he could to get free.
Abolish just stood there, watching, waiting for Scott to say something. He wasn't going to lie this was somewhat interesting but still he felt bad. Scott then pushed the man down, he fell to the floor with a thud, looking up at Scott with hatred and fear. Then Scott bent down to the man level.
"Do you know why I brought you here?" He asked, his red eyes visible, he looked like he was about to claw out the mans throat. This has happened before, and since it has Abolish sighed, and pulled back a chair from the large table to sit down. Leaning forward and resting his head on his palm while his arm was holding up the rest of his weight.
The man frowned, pushing himself back slightly with his hands then attempting to kick Scotts stomach. Which didn't work out for him.. Scott grabbed the mans ankle and twisted his leg with a sickening crack, the man screamed in pain. Scott then dropped it and stood up straight, looking down at the man without moving his head. Which showed power. A trick Scott learned and used often to get what he wanted. The man then, in a desperate attempt to escape grabbed the edge of the near table and lifted himself along with his now broken leg.
"Leave me alone vampire! All you want to do is drink my blood and kill me!!" He screamed at Scott, reaching to grab a vase with flowers to throw. Glass shattered against the wall spreading across the floor.
"Why is everyone always destroying my castle..." Scott sighed, tired of the repetitive patterns in everyone. Then looking back to the man leaning against the table.
"I'm just going to keep this.. Simple." Scott started, "Your blood is probably disgusting. And quite frankly I don't want it. But your wife, seems... In horrible condition. I know what you've done and I'm bored of it, sure I may be a creature of the night but I'm not heartless." He tilted his head, staring down the man. Sending chills down the mans, spine. And without realizing Abolish got chills too, weird. Abolish was a vampire to but maybe even he can get 'scared' sometimes too.
The man froze, realizing this might be the last thing he sees. And then, SWIPE. Claws right across his neck and blood started pouring out. He choked. Gagged, pain. All over. Not just in his throat but all over his body. Is this was death feels like? Never ending suffering?.. He couldn't even explain it, the last thing he did was look at Scott standing there not even bothering him another glance and cleaning his now bloodied hand, while Abolish stood with a towel and pressed it to the mans neck. Not trying to stop his death.
"I don't feel like cleaning blood it stains quickly." Abolish spoke, he watched the life drain from the mans eyes then he held a limp body in his arms. Huh, usually it took around 2-4 minutes for people to die due to a normal scratch Scott does. He removed the towel slightly to look at the wound, and it was deep.. And large. He didn't even realize how much force was put into it.
"Burn him. And then tell the wife he.. Perished. Say she now has access to the farm for her and her children." Scott said simply before leaving the room to head upstairs.
