Work Text:

Fu sat on one of the worn out couches in one of the various chambers of the Raiders HQ, The room only faintly illuminated by a purple electric lantern that lay near the boy’s feet. Fu never liked how dark this ‘home base’ was, he had often found himself nearly bumping into objects or people as he wandered the winding tunnels, waiting for someone to order him around for one thing or another.

His hands fidgeted with the wooden doll that rested in his lap, absentmindedly running his fingers through the fur lining its neck. Hii never objected when Fu did that, so he could only assume he didn’t mind. The stiff quiet that usually hung over the HQ had lifted slightly, today. Considering most of the rookies and even the boss himself were out on missions or running errands or whatever else it was they did. Fu lamented the fact he hadn’t been ordered to join any of those expeditions with a woeful sigh.

A sudden presence made itself known from the darkness when he felt a pair of arms snaking their way around his chest. Fu nearly jumped a foot in the air off the couch from sheer shock, clutching the doll to his chest like a lifeline. The entity behind him snickered in response.

“Hey, Fu,” Jabber teased.

“JAB— Why do you have to SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT?!” Fu blurted out. He turned his head to get a better look at his mildly unsettling coworker. The older boy’s face was mostly covered by his long, thick dreadlocks. Though, one dark magenta eye could still be made out in the dimly lit room from how it reflected the light of the lantern below. Eyes always so piercing it felt like they stared straight into his soul.

“Cuz I like seeing how spooked ya get from me just bein’ me,” Jabber replied, leaning himself further over the back of the couch till his head was right beside Fu’s.

“You ain’t busy right? Considering you seem to have nothing better to do than sit here and stare into space,” he inquired, tilting his head slightly further into Fu’s space.

If he was being honest, it was less unsettling than most unsolicited physical touch was for Fu. Most of the other raiders found Jabber far too unhinged to be around any longer than necessary, but something about his presence made Fu feel almost at ease, at least, when he wasn’t being frightened half to death from his sudden appearances from the shadows.

“Uh— No not really…” He rested Hii on his lap again, hands cupped around the doll like one would warm their hands on a mug of freshly brewed tea.

“Great!“ Jabber chirped, “cuz I’m reeeaaall bored right now,” he whined, dropping his forehead into the crook of Fu’s neck, long wicks falling across his shoulder.

“I want you to bite me,” Jabber stated. His voice slightly muffled in Fu’s scarf.

“Wha— I— uhm— I uh well— what?“ the younger Raider stammered. Trying to make sense of what was just asked— demanded?— of him. Jabber raised his head slightly, looking at him with an almost hungry look in his eyes. He then opened his mouth to answer Fu’s question before he even asked it.

“That’s an order,” he added, succinctly. Wrapping his arms around Fu’s chest a bit more firmly.

Fu felt his face heat up involuntarily. He tightened his grasp on Hii as he looked down towards nothing in particular.

“Oh… oh wow, okay then…” He could almost feel Jabber grinning at him through his thick curtain of hair. That answer seemed to please him, though, so he released his hold around Fu’s upper torso, and straightened himself so he was no longer hunched over the back of the couch. Fu turned himself to look back at Jabber, who clambered over the sofa to take a seat beside him.

The taller boy leaned towards him, with an unreadable expression. Fu instinctively leaned away, moving his hands to set down the doll he’d been holding somewhere to his right, between himself and the couch armrest. Jabber cocked his head to the side, curiously, almost as if he was just as unsure of what happened now as Fu was. Eventually, Jabber closed the gap between them by setting himself down in Fu’s lap, straddling him.

“C’mon, you’re not gonna make me make all the first moves are you?” Jabber drawled.

Fu just stared up at him, petrified, his hands hovered awkwardly at Jabber’s sides. He was so close he could probably hear how Fu’s heart threatened to beat out of his chest. His throat bobbed as his eyes flickered across all of jabber’s features at once yet not registering any of it.

“Hey, you got your order now aren’t you supposed to carry it out?” Jabber huffed, roughly poking Fu between the eyes, causing him to let out a squeak and snapping him out of whatever thought process he’d been in. Jabber snorted in amusement.

“Huh— o-oh, yeah, right, yeah—“ Fu stammered. He eyed up the exposed skin on Jabber’s neck, wouldn’t that be too weird? His shoulder? Fu wasn’t sure if he wanted to stain his uniform with blood again if he accidentally broke skin, could he even break skin through the fabric? Did Jabber even want him to break skin? Who was he kidding, it’s Jabber, of course he wanted him to break skin.

Fu watched as the other Raider undid the clasps on his jacket. Once it was fully undone he took just half of it off, exposing his right shoulder. He tapped himself with his finger a few times, grinning expectantly at Fu. That seemed like enough of an order for him.

He leaned forward to sink his teeth into Jabber’s shoulder, his hands landing somewhere on either side of the purple sash that the older raider kept tied around his hips. Jabber’s skin was tougher than he’d expected, probably from all the built up scar tissue and lean muscle. He made an attempt to swallow down his anxiety as he clamped his jaws down harder into the other’s flesh. A metallic taste flooded Fu’s mouth, pooling around his teeth. Jabber made a delighted sound in response, his arms loosely wrapped around Fu’s shoulders with his hands landing somewhere on the back of the sofa.

Fu had tasted blood before, it wasn’t exactly the most pleasant experience in the past, especially with its connotations to internal bleeding and injury. But something about this was different, he wasn’t the one injured. Something about it almost drew him in, made him want to sink his teeth in even deeper til it would surely scar, til he severed muscle and nearly reached bone. Should he be liking this? It was an order. Jabber couldn’t get mad if he was just following his order. Not that Jabber would be upset even if it wasn’t an order.

Fu leaned back to detach his maw from Jabber’s shoulder. He licked away the blood on his teeth while looking at the bite mark that Jabber seemed oh so pleased to have acquired. Were Fu’s teeth really that sharp? He hadn’t exactly bitten anyone like this before but the fact the other looked more like he’d been bitten by a dog or a lizard than a person was something he struggled to fathom.

“Hey, don’t hold back on me now.” Jabber chided, shifting his weight to lean even closer to Fu, who squeaked in response.

“Huh— I, uh— I was—“ He raised his hands in mock surrender, to which Jabber just snickered.

“You can keep going,” he stated. Fu just blinked at him. Then, Jabber tilted his head slightly and looked off to the side somewhere, as if gathering his thoughts.

“I want you to keep going,” he rephrased, a smug grin spreading across his face. He knew Fu couldn’t say no to an order.

His heart pounded on the inside of his head. His face flushed from just how close Jabber was now, close enough that Fu could feel the other’s breath on his face. He swallowed his thoughts before leaning down again to settle his jaws on Jabber’s shoulder, in a slightly different spot but still overlapping the original injury. His hands settled somewhere above the purple sash this time, on Jabber’s waist.

Fu was the one who leaned in this time, pressing his body weight into the other to sink his teeth into flesh. The taste of blood flooded his mouth again and he squeezed his eyes shut, imagining biting all the way through. Jabber squirmed beside him, wrapping his arms tighter around Fu’s shoulders. He let out a hiss of pain that maybe shouldn’t have sounded as delighted as it did

“Ow, ow, ow— yeah, just like that,” Jabber affirmed.

Fu pulled himself back for a moment as if to respond, before diving right back in, biting down again not as hard as before but hard enough to hurt, judging by the sound Jabber made in response. Fu’s grasp on the other’s waist tightened. He got himself lost in the pattern of leaving marks on marks on Jabber’s shoulder, some trailing down towards his upper arm, some inching just barely under the sleeveless hoodie the other wore and onto his collarbone. At some points Fu shuddered and shook instinctively, like he was trying to actually tear a chunk out of the other’s arm.

Eventually, Fu managed to pull himself out of it. He leaned back, his breaths heavy, and looking anywhere but Jabber’s face. Who definitely looked like he’d been attacked by some creature, now. Fu glanced up to look at Jabber for just a moment, who looked almost as befuddled as Fu felt. The older boy opened his mouth to say something but was swiftly interrupted by a hand reaching up to tilt his head to the side and teeth sinking into the left of his jaw.

Jabber made a noise somewhere between a yelp and a whimper. His arms wrapped more securely around the other’s shoulders. Fu felt the other swallow as he bit down just enough to leave a mark. Finally, Fu registered what he’d just done and pulled himself off of Jabber once more. He blinked a few times, idiotic grin plastered on his face and blood still on his teeth and lips. Jabber tilted his head at him and snickered. Fu opened his mouth to say something as—

HEY! And what about me?

Hii’s voice rang through Fu’s head and he damn near leapt out of his skin on the spot, almost pushing Jabber straight off the couch, who gave him a very perplexed look in response to his reaction.

“HII— I UH— TH— UHM—“ Fu stammered as he reached to pick up the doll, glancing between it and Jabber a few times.

You just set me to the side and get all chummy with this moron?” Hii retorted. “You look like you ate something that someone forgot to kill all the way.” Fu clasped a hand over his mouth and tried not to look at the state of Jabber’s shoulder.

“I—“ Fu started.

And when’s it my turn to get a piece of the guy? You get to have all the fun at this dump of a HQ,” Hii complained. Fu’s face went almost redder than his hair, his response being to push Jabber all the way off of himself and off the couch.  The taller raider yelped and landed with an ungraceful “oof”. His foot kicked the lantern out of place slightly, causing the shadows of the room to shift.

“WHA— YOU— I UH—“ Fu stammered while frantically looking between Hii and Jabber, as if the latter could even hear his one sided conversation. Fu was so focused on whatever Hii was saying that he didn’t notice Jabber standing up and stepping closer. He leaned down to look at the doll in Fu’s hands, to which both of them went silent. Jabber reached out to turn Hii towards him, surprisingly gently. He tilted his head curiously at the doll as Fu stared in bewilderment. After a moment, Jabber chuckled to himself and gave Hii a few pats on the head, then turned to Fu to ruffle his hair, earning a startled yelp from him.

“Alright! I’m gonna ask Cthoni where we keep the bandages,” Jabber chirped. Then leaned in towards Fu til their foreheads were nearly touching. “I’ll see ya ‘round, Fu.” He grinned. And then straightened his posture as he turned on his heels to walk away, waving at Fu (and Hii) as he did. Fu turned himself around on the sofa to look over the back of it, watching Jabber leave.

“Your taste in men is atrocious,” Hii commented.

“Yeah…” Fu turned back around and slumped into the couch.

somewhat unintentionally putting hii in the cuck chair has to be one of the funniest things ive done all week at least to my sense of humor
