Shane turns his back to go, but only makes it one step before he hears, “Can you keep a secret?”
He takes the watermelon back.
“You can’t mention this to anybody. Your parents would kill you.” Luca grimaces. “And Crowell would kill me.”
Together, they head up the hill, the music getting steadily louder. Luca pushes open the doors with his back, nearly losing his grip on the watermelons in the process, but Shane is too stunned to really react.
Inside, the room is flooded with couples, just like earlier on the main floor. Only here, no one is dancing an arms-length apart in their cocktail hour outfits to lyric-less jazz. Here, they have a veritable wonderland of debauchery going on.
