It was pretty safe to say that the centaurs social media had defiantly taken off since the tiny microphone interview after last weeks practice. Coach Wiebe had mentioned to Harris at this morning's meeting how his own daughters had cornered him over the weekend demanding more information about Rosanov's septum ring and more tiny mic videos to be made about the Centaurs; insisting to him that stan twitter would love it.

Brandon Wiebe was a man born in the 70s, he had no idea what stan twitter was, but assured his daughters that he would pass on the message to Harris, along with the demand of another video. "I gotta say Harris, buying that pink tiny microphone was an absolute stroke of genius" Wiebe said as he took a sip of his morning coffee "my daughters loved it, their friends love it and this thing called 'stan twitter' loved it. wh-what's that, is that some sort of off shoot of twitter?".

Harris laughed and shook his head "No-no-no Brandon" Harris continued laughing, much to Wiebe's confusion" stan twitter is kinda like where people really love celebrities and they name accounts after them and get into arguments with other people who like other celebrities. It's a lot more nuanced than that, but I'm sure you don't really care to get into the nitty gritty of it. Basically it's for the fans, by the fans.

Coach Wiebe took another sip of his coffee and nodded with a small smile "As long as it's engaging and our fans love it, which is most important. That's all I'm interested in. The league seemed pretty happy with your other video, Crowell wasn't ringing my phone off the hook and i haven't received any emails demanding it be taken down and a statement issued. So happiness is being felt all around, you should do another one" He said with a shrug.

"Are you sure?" Harris look apprehensive as he asked for reassurance that he was actually allowed to do his job without other members of management breathing down his neck. Wiebe shrugged again and nodded "Yeah, why not? people really loved that one, my daughters are demanding a follow up and so are their friends, so do another". Harris took a breath and thought for a second "Okay, I have an idea".

Wiebe leaned in closer, coffee mug still in hand, "I'm listening", Harris pulled out his phone and started scrolling for a second and then glanced at Wiebe "Do you know about that passing the phone trend?". Wiebe's expression returned to confused, the same it had been when they were talking about stan twitter earlier and shook his head "Oh, the girls show me so much stuff and tell me to tell you to do it, i have no idea what passing the phone is apart from just giving it to one another. Am i at least on the right track?" Harris nodded. "Yeah, that's basically it, they just say 'I'm passing the phone to someone who does whatever' and then the phone gets passed to whoever does that and it keeps going, do you want me to show you one on TikTok?".

Wiebe shook his head and held his hand out "Please don't" Harris laughed at his reaction "Make the boys film it, get them during practice tomorrow, they can do it when I make them do speed training". "What about Wyatt?" Harris asks and Wiebe shrugs "he won't be in the goal, you know what speed training is right?". "Brandon, we both know despite the fact I've worked for this team for years and am literally dating one of the players, I have very limited idea of what actually goes on during training sessions". Wiebe laughs again "That's good, because i have no fucking clue what goes on on Twitter, or TikTok. I'll let the boys know to expect someone passing a phone to them during practice".

The following day Harris was back standing at the side of the rink, Troy leaning against the boards listening to him explain the plan for the new video "So basically, you want me to take your phone onto the ice and say something into the video and then give the phone to someone who does that thing?" Troy asked and Harris eagerly nodded "Yeah, why not? people love these kinda videos". "What happened to the tiny microphone?" Troy quizzed, Harris shrugged "I forgot to charge it"  then paused for a second "and i lost the charger, and they don't sell the chargers on their own, so i had to buy a new one". Troy side eyed him "At least you bought a new one, the boys seemed to love that for some reason, now give me that damn phone" Troy held out his hand and Harris reached into his pocket and placed it in Troy's glove free hand.

"Okay, here it goes" Troy held the phone up to his eye level and presses record and skates towards the huddle of players stretching and chatting between speed drills "I'm passing the phone to the player that won't stop watching Instagram reels on maximum volume in the locker room", Troy had skated over to Ilya who had a disappointed expression on his face and passed him the phone with a smirk "What is this?" the Russian asked. "It's a phone" Troy replied with a deadpan expression and Ilya rolls his eyes "Harris wants you to do the passing the phone thing and I've passed the phone to you, so you say something". Ilya waved off troy "Yeah, yeah we all know how this works, I'm just being annoying"

Ilya started to aimlessly skate around and devilishly smiled at the phone "I'm passing the phone to someone who I'm pretty sure drew fanart of me when they were child", Ilya then skated over to Luca on the other side of the rink and shoved the phone into his hand "Oh it's my turn already?" he said with somewhat excitement and Ilya laughed "What did you say about me?". Luca didn't get a response as Ilya skated away, grin still on face. Luca rolled his eyes and pulled the phone up to his face "I'm passing the phone to someone who once started a fight after he had already won the game and to this day refuses to tell anyone why he did it. As far as me and anyone's aware it's the only fight he's been involved in".

Luca searches around the ice until he sees his target and then skates as quickly as he can over to Shane, who's talking to Bood and Dykstra, who stops talking when they see Luca with the phone, pass it to Shane and skate away "What do you think he said about me?" Shane asked, Bood and Dykstra laughed. "Don't worry about, just speak into the phone Holzy". "Okay, I'm passing the phone to a player that owns a ridiculous amount of camo trucker hats, despite being in the city and not a trucker and wears them so often people joke about his hair line" Shane passes the phone to Dykstra and smirks.

Dykstra rolled his eyes and held the phone up "I'm passing the phone to someone that took away my speaker, because I kept playing the Fate of Ophelia on repeat and he had enough, it's the same guy that’s gonna look hella confused when I give him the phone because he thought he was excluded from this” Coach Wiebe was on the other side of the boards, leaning against them talking to Harris and as expected his expression was puzzled when Dykstra gave him the phone and quickly skated away.

”I thought I wasn’t gonna be involved in this!” Wiebe shouted over to Dykstra, who in reply just shrugged his shoulders and laughed. “Okay, fine. I’m passing the phone to three players and it has to be three because they refuse to do anything without the other”. Wiebe quickly walked over to where Young, LePointe and Holmber where chatting and tapping their sticks against one another’s, Young had a big grin on his face as he took the phone.

”Thanks coach” He said, “Why’d you pass the phone to us?” LePointe asked and Wiebe walked away without a reply “Who should we pass this to then?” Young enquired as the three of them looked around the ice for a moment, all three of their eyes landing on one person not too far away who was deep in discussion with a couple other players, his hands making wild gestures. the three of them made their way over to him and began talking in unison, as if they shared one brain cell "We're passing the phone to the player" they stopped talking in unison, only LePointe continued talking "with the biggest butt any of us have seen on anyone". And with that the phone was quickly thrust into the hand of their captain as they sped away towards the bench.

"Again, really?" Ilya said to Troy who just shrugged "just say something into it and move on Roz", Ilya rolled his eyes "Okay, I'm passing the phone to someone that looks like he should be singing about sushi restaurants, rather than playing hockey. He is hockey Justin Bieber" Ilya said and threw the phone over to Troy "Really, is it just cause I'm standing closest to you" Ilya silently nodded whilst taking a sip from his water bottle. "I thought so, okay then" Troy skated away to where he spotted the next target and held the phone to his face "I'm passing the phone to a player that has won multiple Stanley cups but cannot win a game of monopoly".

The phone was thrust into Shane's hand "Awww, really again?". Troy nodded "Your husband gave it to me, so it's your turn" he said and skated back over to Ilya to continue their conversation. "Great okay, I'm passing the phone to a player that always suggests watching a superhero movie at team movie nights. Even though people do not wanna watch batman for the twenty-thousandth time" Shane says whilst skating over to the goal and throwing the phone over to Hayes, who took off one of his gloves so he could get a better grip on the phone and not drop it on the ice. 

"I'm passing the phone to a player that has a tramp stamp, but refuses to call it a tramp stamp because according to him it's not a tramp stamp, it's a 'lower back tattoo'" Wyatt does air quotes with his free hand "we all know that it's the same thing" He skates over where Bood, Barrett, Haas and their captain were stood; the four of them going quiet when Hayes smiled cheekily and pressed gave the phone to Ilya, causing him to roll his eyes. "Really again?" he said and the group around him laughed and he rolled his eyes again.

"You're all assholes" Ilya says "I'm passing the phone to someone that for some reason wants to get adopted by me and my husband. Even though we have told him no. Multiple times" Ilya passes Luca the phone with smirk on his face. "Thanks, Roz" Luca sighs and brings the phone to his eye level "I'm passing the phone to a player that refuses to share his barbeque sauce recipe, no matter how much begging I do". Luca passed the phone over to Bood "And you'll never find out what that recipe is" He says, slight snark in his tone and skates away from the group.

"I'm passing the phone to a player that went on his honeymoon to Ibiza, but instead of going clubbing, drinking and dancing like normal people on an island known for partying, he went hiking and rock climbing; he went to party central and made it into a damn nature vacation" Bood speaks as he passes the phone to Shane, who laughs as he accepts the device "Awwww not again" He says. "I'm passing the phone to someone that i once got trapped in a hotel elevator and instead of doing the normal thing and pressing the help button he had a nap and was missing for three hours until" Shane said as he brought the phone over to Boyle.

Boyle laughed "Thanks, I'm passing the phone to someone that is not allowed within two metres, so like six feet, of Gritty because of an incident" Boyle skates over to Wiebe, who give him what can only be described as a look and then laughs as he accepts the phone. "Boyle!" He says as he continues laughing "I'm passing the phone to someone who likes to skate on his own after practice, in his underwear". Coincidentally as Wiebe finishes talking his target skates past and Wiebe places the phone in his hand.

"Seriously, again?!?" Ilya questioningly shouts, causing players and staff within earshot to laugh "Okay, fine, this is the last one" He sighs and holds the phone up "I'm passing the phone to the player that i want to give a big kiss to" Ilya spoke as he skated over to Shane, who smiles when he sees his husband speedily skating over to him. "Hey Ilya" He said with a smile on his face, Ilya didn't respond and instead just grabbed Shane's face and pressed a kiss to his lips. Shane pulled away from the kiss first and look his husband in the eye "Are you passing the phone to me?" He asked with a laugh and Ilya rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Absolutely not, Harris come get phone".

Troy skated over to the couple and took the phone from Ilya to deliver it to Harris, who pressed a kiss to his boyfriends cheek to thank him for getting the phone. Harris made his way over to his office whilst Wiebe and the team finished up on the ice and headed to the locker room. He'd managed to finish editing and uploaded the video to TikTok, Instagram and Twitter a few days later. All he had to do now was wait for the reactions of the fans and the team, who were beging eachother to know why they'd passed the phone to one another.
