Or

Peter was having a good night, great even until he got himself shot in the side. And he has nowhere to turn to except the previous mentor that didn’t remember him. Yeah life was just great.

P.S. Endgame did happen(more context in the fic) Tony and cap are alive.

Notes:

Hiiiiii this is my first fic ever so be nice pls ToT. I debated uploading this for a long time mainly because I’m not super confident in my writing and this has so many plot holes in it. But here I am uploading anyway. Hopefully someone will enjoy it just like I do. Anyway enjoy the fic and if you notice any holes in the story no you didn’t ;)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Peter Parker had been having a pretty normal day as normal as it could be considering he was also a masked vigilante called spider-man and had conveniently erased himself from all his loved ones memories. It’s not like there were very many people who still cared about him anyway. He had done his normal patrol route aka going wherever he was needed. A robbery there, a kidnapping prevented and general friendly neighborhood Spider-Man activities. He swung through the city as he recalled his day. The chill autumn air whistled in his ears as he swung himself into a backflip. One two three—a scream pierced the air. Peter sighed. He shot a web out catching his fall and swinging himself toward the area the scream came from.

“Help! Help me!” The voice sounded feminine. He found the origin of the voice in an alleyway between two apartment buildings. Why were people always walking in alleyways didn't they know the majority of mugging and murders happened there? He landed above the noise sticking to the brick wall looking down on the ruckus. Two guys had a lady backed into the alley wait no four guys emerged from the shadows behind her. One of the guys, tall, burly with a large scar across his face, grabbed the lady’s arm. Time for his dramatic entrance. He leaped down, webbing the guy's arm from above and landing behind him, twisting the guy's arm away from the lady.

”Hey guys! Would we mind not harassing anybody today?”

“It’s the spider! Get him!” One of the guys yelled it was hard to tell they all had black masks on and were all about the same height and build.

“Uh, excuse you, there is a man in there.” He dodged a punch webbing his arm to the wall,
“why does everybody forget the man part? It’s spider-man.”

He jumped up onto the wall webbing a guy's arms to his chest then his feet to the floor so he fell over with a thud.

“It’s always spider this, spider that. look, the spider get him. Like is it really that hard to remember?”

He dropped down, kicking out one of the guy's legs. Then jumped up, webbing him to the ground.

“Excuse me ma'am but would you mind dialing the police? Makes it easier for me.” He said ducking below another guy trying to tackle him. How many of them were there? The lady just looked at him.

Ok that totally wasn't creepy. Normally they would be running for the hills by now thankful that spider-MAN had come to the rescue but she just stared at him like an interesting looking bug.

“Uh lady you should probably get out of here.” He said seriously these guys were popping out of thin air. He jumped up onto the wall. Two four six…

“How did you guys double in numbers?!”

Peters' very kind and receptive audience obviously liked the joke. Because even the lady joined in trying to get at him.

Wait.

Shit this was a trap. And not a very good one by the looks of it. He was taking these guys down easy peasy. Webbing them left and right. Until the lady, the one he was trying to rescue and then joined in on the fun, pulling out a gun. Peter went rigid knives, swords and the like. Was easy he could handle that, but guns were a bit trickier. Especially if you didn't want anybody else getting hurt. His spider sense buzzed inside his head.

Yeah I know there is danger. I see it right there.

“Let's be careful about this.” He said putting his hands up in a show of peace and a bit of mock surrender.

“Get down from the wall.” She said with authority.

“Ok ok i get it no funny business.” He jumped down from the wall landing right in front of her. Two of her goons, it seemed like, were still standing. They flanked Peter on either side.

Makes this easier for me then.

“Turn around and walk forward slowly.” She said the gun still aimed at his head. Peter did as he was told.

“Alrighty where we going?” He asked.

For his response the two goons flanking him grasping his arms so he couldn't move. Well for all they knew. Peter was wicked fast and could probably break free when needed. They walked Peter toward the street. And oh look there was a white van conveniently parked right on the curb.

That's when he realised this might be more serious than he had originally thought.
He burst into movement putting all his weight into shoving the guy on his right with his shoulder. It worked and freed his arm but sent him ricocheting into the other guy. He clamped his iron-like grip around Peter's arms. He wiggled trying to break free.

“Cmon guys ive got stuff to do tonight, can we do a kidnapping next week maybe?” He said feigning calmness he was actually very worried inside.

Why had he been so stupid letting himself get caught like that.
As he was chiding himself on his stupidity he heard a faint click and cool metal seeping through the fabric of his suit on his wrists.

“Really handcuffs? Like that is gonna do anything.”

He chuckled he could break handcuffs easily, super strength and all that. The lady came in front of him, she grabbed his face roughly. He could feel her nails digging into his skin through the mask. Quite an accomplishment.

She brought her face close to his close enough he could see the grey streaks in her hair and the green flecks in her eyes. It made him think of may and a pang of longing echoed in his chest.

She studied him for a long moment, her nails starting to indent his face. She smiled smugly and let go of his face.

Ow. He worked his jaw trying to get rid of the pain still stinging in his cheeks.

Ok it was officially time to go. This was getting creepy and he had seen his fair share of creepy stalkers and kidnappers.

Peter whipped his head back connecting with the guy's jaw. He stumbled back, his arms free. He pulled his arms out on either side to break the handcuffs but nothing happened. Ok that was weird. He tried again dodging the other guy trying to grab him. Nothing, just the metal digging into his skin though the suit.

Shit. Well he would have to improvise. He jumped up sliding his legs through the gap his arms made, like a human jump rope so that his arms were in the front. Now he could still use them, even if they were stuck together. He dodged the guy again. Would he ever stop yeeting himself at Peter?

Peter shot his hands out to fire a web, launching himself onto the roof but time slowed down.

BANG.

His spider sense blaring in his head. Louder. Louder. LOUDER. Until all he could think about was the impending danger. He threw himself to the side but not fast enough the bullet lodged itself in his side. Peter gasped as the world went white for a second. Then it all rushed back too loud and too fast. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the lady holding the gun. The barrel smoking. Her face was completely calm like she totally didn't just shoot somebody. His hands launched a web and zipped himself onto the roof. His side burning with every movement.

He kept on swinging. He didn't know for how long. He just knew that he needed to get medical attention. No hospitals, having surgery with a mask on and crazy metabolism that burned drugs like candy was not an option.

Peter gasped the pain spreading through his chest making it difficult to breath without feeling like a thousand knives were stabbing his lungs. He cut his web. Landing ungraciously on a rooftop. He stumbled landing on his back gasping (more like wheezing) for air. What he would do for a personal doctor right now. He managed to sit himself up, barely, to assess the damage. The bullet hadn't gone all the way though.

Shit shit shit.

He put his hands on the wound to stop the bleeding, somewhat awkwardly since they were still handcuffed. The blood had already soaked through his suit and was creeping down his leg at a concerning pace. Luckily his spider sense was still on high alert keeping him awake and aware otherwise he would be very drowsy from blood loss.

Peter felt the tears start to prick his eyes and the panic start to set in not just from the agonizing pain but from the fact that he had nowhere to go. Not May, not MJ, not Ned, not Mr Stark who would totally be scolding him right now.

Wait. Mr. Stark, Iron man still knew who spiderman was but just not the peter part and iron man would be willing to help that one kid he invited to fight captain america, in germany right?

Get it together peter

He stood himself up nausea telling him to lay back down but he persisted, like an idiot. He shot a web and headed toward avengers tower.
