    Legundo was dying.
    Not literally, of course. He was breathing and living all the same, but his mind felt as if it was slowly crumbling away, withering into ash and dirt. He wasn’t ill; at least not physically. No rashes, no signs of disease like coughing or nausea, no pain in his muscles. Just a dull, constant humming in his mind that made him want to burn himself at the pyre simply to feel something.

    Or, Legundo is depressed about Owen still loving Louis (Legundo also hates himself). He can’t deal with this pain anymore. He has one option to rid himself of it.
