Shut up, Pony, just get in the car Part 2

Summary:

Dallas picks up Johnny and Ponyboy from the abandoned church, not expecting Ponyboy to be blonde.

But damn, did he look cute.

Notes:

here’s the original, read Part 1 if you didn’t

Work Text:

Dallas pulled up to the abandoned church on Jay Mountain in Buck Merril’s car, a week after the murder news spread like wildfire all around Tulsa, with Sodapop’s letter in his pocket and money in the other.

He waltzed in, looking around, and found Ponyboy and Johnny sleeping on old pews. He didn’t realize it was Ponyboy at first, with his hair all bleached. He looked so cute sleeping.

Dally smirked and went up to him, leaning down to pet Pony’s hair. “Hey, blondie, good to see ya.”

Ponyboy stirred awake, he squinted up in the morning glow to a familiar face. He smiled with a weary voice, “Dallas.”

He planted a quick kiss on Pony’s forehead and got up, going over to Johnny and kicking his bench. “Johnnycake, rise and shine.”

Johnny got up immediately, and Dally looked around their hideout. The younger boys kept asking questions upon questions like little kids with no self-control.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down.” Dally put his hands up, explaining what was happening back home. “Special delivery for Ponyboy Curtis, from your brother Sodapop.” Dally got the letter out of his jacket and gave it to Ponyboy.

“How did he know?” Pony asked, grabbing the letter and opening it.

“I told him I didn’t know where you were, but he didn’t believe me.” Dally paced, then stared at Ponyboy in his messy blonde hair. It looked weird, dirty, and ungreased. But he still looked so cute. The way he pursed his lips went, he read, his thinking face, his face when he does anything, really.

He turned to the right, “Got a cancer stick, Johnny?”

The Pet pulled a cigarette out from a Camel box and gave it to him. Dally struck a match off his necklace and lit the cig. He sat down, “Y’all wanna get some food? I’m starving.”

“You’re starving? Try boleney for a week.” Johnny replied sarcastically.

Ponyboy got up and put on Dally’s jacket. Dally smirked at him, “God, blond and all that, look at him.” Dally gave Ponyboy a little wink. Pony blushed and squirmed a little.

“Where are we going?” Ponyboy asked innocently.

Dally put a hand on Pony’s hip and kissed his cheek. “Don’t worry, doll. I’ll treat you nice. Get in the car.”

Johnny couldn’t help but be a third wheel. Poor Johnny.
