Chapter Text
It's Karadec's birthday. He doesn't want to have a big party or go crazy. Morgan had an idea, and she's glad it worked out. The team is working on a case. A murder of a 18 year old high school senior. Found dead on the school's football field.
They were working on the board.
"What are you doing tonight for your birthday, Karadec?", Daphne asks.
Karadec looks at Daphne. "Not much. Probably just eat some food and call it a night".
"What? Oh you need something better", Morgan says.
"What do you suggest, Morgan?", Karadec asks.
Just then, Morgan gets a notification on her phone. A message from someone saying "we're walking in now". Morgan has a smile on her face.
"I have an idea".
About a minute later, everyone hears a group of people yell "surprise!".
Adam looks up and is shocked. Before him stands his brother, his sister, his nieces, nephew and his parents.
"What are you doing here? How?"
He goes over to hug them all.
"What's up, uncle Adam?", says his nephew Harrison.
"Harrison? Dude, you've gotten so tall!" Karadec hugs him.
"How are you all here?", Karadec asks again.
"Someone named Morgan Gillory contacted us. Told us that you would love to see us. Thought it would be a great birthday present since we haven't seen you in forever", his mom said.
"She paid for all of our plane tickets to get here", his sister, Sarah, said.
"You did this?", Karadec looks lovingly at Morgan.
"Yes. You mentioned about not having seen them in a few years. I thought it would be nice".
"It is. Thank you".
Karadec goes over and hugs Morgan.
"You're welcome".
Lucia then walks in.
"What's going on here?"
"You remember my sister, brother, nieces, nephew, and my parents? They came here for my birthday.", Adam said.
"I'm going to go get some plates for the no chocolate chip chocolate chip cookies", Morgan says while walking to the lounge.
"You made my favorite cookies too?", Karadec asks.
Morgan just looks at him with a smile.
Morgan was walking toward the lounge when Lucia comes over.
"You did all of this for Adam?"
"Yes. I wanted to do something nice for him. He hadn't seen his family in years", Morgan says.
"He's my boyfriend, Morgan. Stay away from him".
"If I don't? He's my partner."
"I'll make you."
With that, Lucia walks back to the party.
Morgan looks back and sees everyone having a good time.
"There's also food from a place called McIntosh's", Oz says happily.
"How did you get food from McIntosh’s, Morgan? It's a restaurant only in my hometown.", Adam says with a smile on his face.
"I have my ways", Morgan says with a smile on her face.
Lucia storms out of the bullpen.
HOURS LATER
Karadec's family left about 3 hours ago. Everyone has left for the day. Morgan stayed behind to clean up and to look over things from the case.
It's now 11:00 pm. Morgan heads out for the night. She is putting on her coat with her back to the doors. Suddenly, she feels something sharp go into the side of her neck. She turns around to try and find who did it, but there was no one there. She tries to walk, but then falls to the floor. She closes her eyes and just lays on the floor.
