   Summary

   Raised on a foundation of praise and "yes," James moved through the world like he owned it. He was used to being the solution and the favorite, but when he reached for the redheaded girl's trunk with an offer to help, only to be met with a "no," his world tilted.
   For Lily Evans, God was in every breath, every camp, and every church potluck. Devotion was promised to save her from herself. She knew she was different, but her family called those differences a test of faith. Spiritual warfare. Able to be prayed away. Everything changes when a woman from a "Magic school" knocks on her door. Suddenly, Lily’s "weirdness" has a name, and she slowly discovers that her power that was never a sin, but a gift.
   Struggles still arise. As James and Lily mature, his "yes" and her "no" change, forcing them to redefine everything they thought they knew about faith, magic, and each other.
