Little Do They Know (Or So They Thought)

Summary:

Trinity chokes a bit on Yolanda's leftover saliva. “OH FU-“

“SHHH!”

Trinity points to the scene, “They can’t hear us, what the fuck! She never mentioned-“

Yolanda slaps a hand over her mouth. “I’m trying to see if I can read lips once they come out.”

They watch on with shock as Samira Mohan looks at Jack Abbot from the passenger seat of his truck, his front windshield doing little to tint their actions.

Notes:

Woo!! Day 4 of Mohabbot Week all!

And we've officially reached age-gap April once again.

Old man Jack Abbot, this one is for you!

Happy reading!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The day shift is moments away from being on, and Trinity Santos is trying to focus. She prides herself on being the best multitasker she knows. But as Yolanda Garcia slips a hand further into her sports bra with a pleasing hum and a lick behind her ear, Trinity feels herself become significantly distracted yet again.

She leans over the console, the coffees they bought at the nearby cafe to talk, yes, talk have since grown cold and rest in the cup holders between them.

Yolanda catches her lip once more and lets go with a loud pop before ducking down to kiss Trinity’s neck. “We should go, we have five minutes.”

Trinity groans in Yolanda’s latest leased car. Her eyes glance over to the digital clock. “I want to tear into at least several chest cavities by noon, you’re right. We should.”

Yolanda snorts and kisses her once more, her warm hand leaving the comfort of Trinity’s scrub top.

Trinity leans forward to kiss her cheek and say goodbye, but with a gentle shove at her shoulder and a surprised gasp, Yolanda turns Trinity’s head.

They’re in the parking garage, which gives them a direct view of the open lot and the nearby bus stop from across the street.

Trinity chokes a bit on Yolanda’s leftover saliva. “OH FU-“

“SHHH!”

Trinity points to the scene, “They can’t hear us! What the fuck!? She never mentioned-“

Yolanda slaps a hand over her mouth. “I’m trying to see if I can read their lips once they come out.”

They watch on with shock as Samira Mohan looks at Jack Abbot from the passenger seat of his truck, his front windshield doing little to tint their actions.

Her hand reaches out to rub down the side of his jaw.

He smiles at her and nods reassuringly once she throws him a worried and questioning look.

They speak for a moment, and whatever Jack says has her visibly softened.

“She’s upset he drove her when he’s tired.” Trinity glances at Yolanda and sees a stern expression frozen on her face as she squints to read their lips. “Did he work last night?”

“Yeah, he probably left about thirty-five minutes ago.”

“She lives that close?”

Trinity’s eyes widened at the realization. “No, but he does! She was over at his place! Oh my-“

“Look!”

They watch as Jack leans over to place a kiss on her cheek. Samira’s face lights up from the gesture and the hand she left on his jaw turns his lips towards hers.

It’s much too natural for this to be new.

Trinity had recently started to learn more about Samira Mohan. She knew she was someone to keep on your good side and was one of the few people Trinity respected at PTMC. She also knew the girl had no social life outside of work and, as far as everyone knew, no romantic life.

The way Jack Abbot is now running a hand through her curls is telling a different story.

They kiss once more before Jack opens his car door.

Samira shakes her head fondly at him, and he walks around the bed of the truck, still in the scrubs from the night before. He opens the passenger side door and holds out a hand for Samira to grab.

She lands firmly on the asphalt parking lot with her hand wrapping around his for support.

He shuts the door for her and pulls her in for a quick hug, Samira’s arms wrapping around his waist as both of his arms extend around her shoulders and neck.

She steps back to say something to him as her hands lightly grasp the scrub fabric that hugs his hips.

Yolanda squints. “Hmm… It’s hard to tell from the side, but I think she told him to try to sleep.”

Jack murmurs something back, and his hands move up to caress both sides of Samira’s jaw.

He pulls her face up and her lips to his. The kiss is gentle and not longer than a few seconds, but Trinity feels the rare need to look away from the vulnerable scene.

Yolanda is still watching closely and shakes her head when Samira says one more thing to Jack before he pulls away from her arms.

“Damn, I didn't get that one either. She spoke too quickly.”

They watch as the secret couple keeps their hands together for as long as possible. Jack looks like he’s about to tug Samira back into the vehicle with him so they can leave it all behind, but she lets go and steps back to stand on the sidewalk.

As Jack pulls out, Samira waves her goodbye to him and smiles at the taillights until he fades from her view.

Yolanda and Trinity sit in silence once Samira walks away and enters PTMC to begin her shift.

“Wow. He’s like fifty.” Trinity’s mind decides to focus on that fact first.

“Forty-nine.” Yolanda corrects.

Notes:

I always love looking at Mohabbot through the eyes of the other pitt characters, and I have an extra fun time with Yolanda and Trinity's back and forth!

Thank you for reading and I'll see you all tomorrow! We'll get to see how Samira and Jack react to finding out they're expecting!
