Work Text:
Keith stares at Lance's hands. "What are you doing?"
Lance grins. "Can't you tell? I'm fixing our car!"
"It's two AM."
"What better time?"
Keith blinks slowly at him. "Lance. I was sleeping."
Lance sighs and stands up, walking over to Keith to wrap his hands around his waist. "I know, baby. I'll come back to bed soon and then we can cuddle, alright?"
Keith scoffs and blushes. "Shut up. That's not what I meant, and you know it."
Lance presses a quick kiss to his lips. "Go back to bed, baby. I'll be right there."
Keith huffs. "You better take a shower before you get back into bed. I'm not dealing with the grease that's all over you being all over the bed."
"You got it, baby," Lance murmurs, squeezing his hands around Keith's waist.
Lance thinks for a moment before grinning wickedly. "Something else could be all over the bed instead, if you'd like."
Keith snorts. "Don't be cringy."
"It's just you and me."
"Still. It doesn't mean I don't cringe when you say things like that."
"I'm taking that as a no, then?" Lance asks.
Keith rolls his eyes, a small smile creeping onto his face. "I don't care."
Lance nods and hugs him before pulling back and giving him a soft smile. "Help me shower?"
Keith raises his eyebrows. "Just a shower. Nothing else."
"You got it, Keith," he says with a smirk, taking his hand and pulling him towards the bathroom.

Keith stands there as Lance pulls off his clothes, hugging himself. It's not that he wasn't interested in doing this kind of stuff with him, he absolutely was, he just... hated the way he looked.
He felt as if his body was imperfect, staring at Lance. Nobody would look at him and think, "Are we sure that's a guy?" or "God, what a faker. Not a true man."
He loved Lance so, so much, but he couldn't help but think of how his body was wrong in so many people's eyes when he saw Lance like this. It wasn't his fault that his mind just traveled to his inadequacy. It just made their interactions like this a little bit harder.
He avoided looking at Lance's body and his face as he took off his clothes and put them in a neat pile on the toilet seat, before stepping into the shower with Lance. The faucet rumbled before spewing out cold water onto Keith's head, and he flinched.
Lance comes up behind him, stepping into the water with him. He trails kisses down his neck and back, making sure to press harder kisses to the scars that littered his body. He kneels in front of Keith and kisses his lower back before patting his hip. "Can you turn around for me, baby?"
Keith takes a shaky breath before turning, wiping water and hair out of his face. He sees Lance kneeling in front of him with a soft smile, rubbing his thighs, which were covered in more scars, and tears up.
Lance frowns. "You all right, Keith? We don't have to do this, you know. I'm okay with that. I won't be mad at you if you say no, promise."
Keith shakes his head. "No, you can--" he mumbles, waving a hand.
Lance raises his eyebrows and sighs. "Keith. Baby. Come on."
"It's fine, Lance," Keith insists.
Lance's eyes search his face, and he swallows before standing up. He grabs the shampoo bottle and lathers some on his hands before holding them out. "Can I wash your hair?"
Keith blinks. He forgets how well Lance can read him sometimes. "Are you mad at me?"
Lance shakes his head. "No, baby. I'll never be mad if you say no."
"I didn't say no."
"I know. I can tell you're uncomfortable though."
"I'm sorry, Lance."
"Shush. Don't apologize. Can I wash your hair?"
Keith nods, his lower lip wobbling. "Thank you, Lance. I love you."
Lance smiles before sliding his hands into Keith's hair. "I love you too, baby."
