Work Text:
“So… there’s no one around..” Suzuki looks up at him with that hopeful gleam in her eyes. Tani can tell right away what she’s hinting at. The blush on her cheeks, her eyelids half open, her hopeful tone.
He takes a peek around them, just to make sure. The streets are quiet. The walkaways are empty. It really just feels like it’s the two of them and no one else.
He takes her hand, and she is taken aback. Her cheeks were so adorably flushed.
He leans in. She does too. Their faces and lips inch closer to each other. Eyelids get heavy. Faces are drawing ever closer.
Just a little bit more…
A little more...
Then their lips connect, and the world falls away. It’s a cliché that he’s once seen in movies and read in books, but it rings true. The sweet pressure of Suzuki’s lips is everything. He can’t get enough now that he knows what it’s like. He wraps his right arm around her backside, pulling her closer to him. Suzuki’s hand clings to the front of his jacket.
Her mouth opens, her tongue coming out to brush against his lips, and he shivers. Opening his own, their tongue wrestle with each other, and even more goosebumps raise on his skin.
Tani wants this moment to last forever. It’s the only thing he’d ever wish for if wishes could really come true.
Suzuki’s the one to break their lips, breathless as she looks at him with such love and affection, it makes him blush. He’s about to say something when the loud screech of tires makes them both jump.
“What’s this???” Says a strangely familiar voice.
“Miyu!!! Yuusuke-kun!!!” He glances over, and his face pales. It’s Suzuki’s dad and her mom. Her mother looks like she’s about to giggle a “hohoho” while her Dad is waving at them, completely oblivious to what just occurred, thankfully.
Oh god. That was too close. Tani thinks, embarrassed. They could’ve been caught kissing… But what a wonderful kiss it was
.
“My Dad?!” Suzuki yelps. She looks stricken, her face pale and glistening with sweat.
Her parents drive them home; both are too embarrassed to meet each other's eyes.
“Yuusuke-kun, your house is this way, right?” Her Dad asks.
“Yes, sir. T-Thank you.” Tani mutters.
When her parents pull up to his house, Tani gets out of the car, lighting quickly. Suzuki gets out to say goodbye to him.
“Goodnight, Tani-kun. I-I’m sorry about my parents…”
“Don’t worry about it, Suzuki-chan.”
She smiles, blushing, and nods. She reaches out her hand, and he takes it with his own. They give each other’s hands a squeeze and bid each other goodnight, even though deep down Tani wants to just kiss her again.
Lying in bed, Tani drifts off, remembering the kiss, hoping it happens again soon.
