Work Text:
Duang was still snarling like an angry dog when Qin put him in the car. Only the words, “Stay here,” kept him seated while Qin walked around to the driver’s seat.
That asshole’s Tiw’s words still echoed.
“I avoided you, yeah. But you avoided me first, Qin. You never let me touch you,” like a condemnation. “If you had just told me what your power was, I wouldn’t have had to pursue you.”
Tiw’s power let him briefly copy others’ powers and, what, he thought that entitled him to know what everyone could do, all the time? He led Qin on, confessed to him, pursued him, then gave up and ditched when Qin still wouldn’t touch him?
As soon as they were both in, Duang exploded.
“What kind of selfish, coldhearted—” He growled and motioned toward neon lights of the bar. “You should’ve let me hit him, Ter!”
Qin sighed. “He’s not worth it.”
“But he hurt you!” Duang whimpered, then huffed. “I wish my power could hurt instead of heal. I’d make him—”
“Don’t.”
Qin touched Duang’s chin, grabbing all his attention. Thoughts of violence fell to a simmer at a look from those eyes.
“You’re not him.” Not someone who hurt others. Used them.
Duang melted. Taking Qin’s hands, Duang lamented, “You looked so hurt. It was like being stabbed in the heart.” He reached out to touch the shirt over Qin’s heart. “I wish I could heal this, too.”
Shaking his head, Qin leaned in to press their foreheads together. Physical touch, reading Duang’s mind. Trusting him. Ah. Duang wanted to make Qin dinner, cuddle on the couch, kiss it better.
“You already are,” Qin murmured. “Like this, you’re healing my heart. And I’m giving it to you.”
Forget the couch. Duang kissed Qin then and there.
