Work Text:
“I’m telling you, it’s an American thing,” Seungmin rolls his eyes, but there’s a smile tugging at his lips and Minho knows he’s enjoying their pointless argument just as much as he is.
“That’s so stupid, how can it be called a salad when there’s marshmallows in it?” Minho frowns at the white-ish mush on Seungmin’s plate. “Are you even allowed to eat that?”
“Hyung, I don’t make the rules of the American language, it is called a salad and you’ll just have to deal with it,” Seungmin tells him firmly, stabbing his fork into the mushy supposed salad with candy inside, smiling as he does. “And I don’t see anyone around who’s gonna stop me.”
That is true, Minho figures, glancing towards their manager’s empty seat from where he just left to take an important phone call. Besides him, there’s only the eight of them, in a private room at a restaurant in a city Minho couldn’t name even if there was a gun to his head. Which honestly seems like it could happen, considering people are walking around wearing guns openly in the street. At least they have an actual free day tomorrow, no concert, no travelling, just relaxing and sightseeing. Minho will learn the name of this city tomorrow.
There’s a small hand absently coming onto Minho’s shoulder, but he only glances at it, knowing Felix is touchy when he drinks and probably doesn’t even want anything.
Since they’re free tomorrow, they were allowed to drink, and they all have, to some extent. Chan, Changbin and Jeongin have probably been the most responsible, seated around their manager and talking about more adult stuff. Like proper sightseeing and cultural differences and the interesting parts about travelling. Minho’s been exploring the strange cuisine with Felix and Seungmin, while Hyunjin and Jisung have been most intent on exploring the alcohol selection.
Minho’s currently nursing something he can’t pronounce, but it has beer and spices in it and kinda tastes like a Bloody Mary but with beer. It’s a little too heterosexual for his tastes, but it’s okay. Seungmin’s got something with foamy eggwhite on top that’s apparently really good, but he won’t let Minho taste. He claimed Minho’s had enough, so Minho offered to drown him.
“Hyung,” Felix’s faint voice reaches his left ear, but since it sounds distracted and half the people at this table are his hyungs, Minho doesn’t fully react, busy making his most disgusted face as he watches Seungmin put a mouthful of white texture into his mouth across the table. There’s some orange or something in there too.
“Hyung!” Felix hisses then, voice coming closer, and Minho turns to him with a small frown as Felix’s hand on his shoulder squeezes a little too hard.
“What?” he asks, confused by Felix’s small blush and wide eyes, but Felix is staring across the table and Minho looks up.
Minho’s mouth falls open a little in surprise at what he sees, because okay, wow, that’s new.
He knows Jisung is drunk. That happens easily. He also knows Jisung gets emotional when he drinks, that he can actually serenade someone on their best qualities while crying if he’s in the right mood. And that the extension of Jisung’s emotional state is clingy.
So he shouldn’t be surprised to see Jisung being clingy with one of their members after his five or something drinks.
Jisung is gorgeous tonight, dark hair styled off his face, a low cut shirt showing off his collarbones and tanned skin, a few lines of the compass rose peeking up, and his cheeks are pink with alcohol and possibly embarrassment. His eyes are glazed and a little hooded from the alcohol, his lips pouty and shiny as he whines like it’s the most natural thing for him. Minho figures that it is. That’s all normal.
What is not normal is that he’s got both arms wrapped around Hyunjin’s shoulders, cheek squished against his shoulder as he rambles, occasionally turning his head up to look at the other man with his huge, pleading eyes.
Hyunjin is always pretty, but he also dressed up a little tonight, a darkly patterned shirt with a button too much undone, a sparkling necklace matching an earring very visible under his quickly regrowing hair. He’s smiling, giggling, perfect teeth on display as he half-heartedly tries to keep Jisung at a safe distance, while also turning his head down a little bit like it’s reflex, meeting Jisung’s eyes.
They’re… very close.
“Hyung, are you seeing this?” Felix whispers, sounding almost reverent as he carefully leans closer to Minho, his small fingers digging into the edge of Minho’s collarbone over his shirt. “Is this real?”
Minho wets his lips and finds that he has to clear his throat before he speaks, voice cracking a little. “Uhm. Yeah. I see it too.”
Felix makes a small noise, and Minho finds his eyes locked to the pair in front of him. He supposes he should feel jealous, but Jisung draped over Hyunjin’s shoulder, their dazzling smiles far too close to each other is so aesthetically pleasing he can’t help but wanting to watch.
“Get a room!” Seungmin calls, too loudly despite it being in Korean, as he clearly followed both of their distracted gazes.
“Shh, Minnie, shut up, keep an eye out for staff if you don’t wanna watch!” Felix whisper-shouts, but he doesn’t take his eyes off the pair long enough to look at Seungmin.
“Oh, so you want to watch your boyfriend kiss someone else in a public place? Of course you do. Freak,” Seungmin says without malice, the eyeroll obvious in his tone, but Minho can’t confirm since he can’t seem to look away either.
Hyunjin and Jisung don’t take any notice of the callout, but Chan, Changbin and Jeongin pause their conversation on something exercise related to see what it meant.
“Oh!” Chan exclaims, eyes widening, and he leans forwards like he’s about to intervene, but Felix quickly raises a hand to stop him, sending him a panicked look, and Chan sits back, looking a little startled.
“Hyunjin-ah…” Jisung whines, shifting somehow even closer, unaware of anyone but Hyunjin at the moment. “I just really like you, you know? You’re so talented, you know? You know, right?”
Hyunjin giggles, and holds Jisung’s eye contact for a long moment, until Jisung laughs and presses his nose against Hyunjin’s temple, which makes Hyunjin lean into him and smile.
Felix’s breath hitches, and he squeezes Minho harder, his voice barely a whisper. “Fuck, they look good together.”
Minho wets his lips. They do look good. He kind of hates how good they look because he finds himself wanting them to actually kiss.
“Hyunjin-ah…” Jisung starts again, this time pressing the words softly into Hyunjin’s cheek, his lips brushing the skin and his eyes falling closed as he speaks.
Minho should probably stop him from doing something stupid. But Felix practically stops breathing next to him, his other hand grabbing Minho’s biceps tightly and he thinks Felix might kill him if he tries.
“Hmm?” Hyunjin hums, smile a little goofy as he slowly turns his head.
Their lips brush more on accident than anything else, and the whole table seems to freeze for a moment. Jisung and Hyunjin pause, blinking their eyes open to look at each other, both seeming a little surprised.
“Go on baby, go on, you’re doing so good,” Felix whispers breathlessly, clearly not intended for Hyunjin to actually hear, and Minho finds himself saying nothing as their respective boyfriends start laughing softly.
Jisung’s forehead falls against Hyunjin’s temple again, and his face tilts as his eyelashes flutter, while Hyunjin’s eyes are open, still smiling.
They exchange a look, and Minho bites the inside of his cheek, afraid to breathe too loudly and ruin the moment.
Hyunjin laughs softly, and Jisung smiles, glancing down at his plush lips, and then leans in.
Their second kiss is a little more purposeful, lips brushing, then gently pushing together, heads tilting to accommodate the angle, and Felix whimpers next to Minho.
“Fuck,” he gets out, and Minho’s too busy staring at Jisung’s lips parting against someone else’s to be bothered Felix is trying to cut off all circulation to his arm.
Jisung sighs into the kiss, and Hyunjin’s long lashes cast a shadow across his cheek in the golden lighting of the room as he tilts his head further, the small wet noise as their lips part sounding fucking delicious.
Minho feels an uncomfortable flash of heat rip through him as the tip of Hyunjin’s tongue flicks out against Jisung’s bottom lip before withdrawing again. Jisung giggles into the kiss, and Hyunjin smiles back, making it hard to keep kissing, and they naturally part.
“And we’re done,” Seungmin’s voice cuts through the magic moment, reaching out for Jisung and pulling him back firmly by the collar of his shirt.
Felix lets out a very obvious noise of protest, but a second later the door opens and their manager returns, heading back to his seat like nothing happened.
It’s pretty clear something did just happen, as Minho manages to glance around the table, finding Chan’s ears pink and his eyes stressed, while Changbin is smirking and Jeongin looks a little mortified.
Seungmin’s finished his candy salad and looks perfectly normal. Felix’s hands slowly loosen around Minho’s arm, and Minho’s fingers start pricking as the circulation returns.
He glances up to find Jisung is looking straight at him, eyes wide in horror and a hand thrown over his mouth like a distressed princess.
Hyunjin’s eyes are wide and he in turn stares at Jisung, like he can’t really comprehend who he is, then whips his head around to look at Minho, too.
“Holy shit,” Felix sighs, leaning his forehead on Minho’s shoulder with a groan. “I’m so fucking hard right now.”
“Iew?” Seungmin offers, but he doesn’t sound all that grossed out.
Minho rolls his eyes but his laugh is a little awkward because he’s not quite as unaffected as he wishes he was. He’s never seen Jisung kiss anyone before, and even if he still figures he should be jealous, he can’t help feeling like it just confirmed Jisung is the hottest fucking man on this planet.
He looks up again, and Jisung still looks at Minho with those wide anime eyes, clearly stressing out over what he just did. Minho lets him panic for another second, before he smiles and sends him a wink.
Jisung’s shoulders slump and his hand drops from his mouth, a shaky smile on his lips.
“Lix,” Hyunjin mumbles, easily shifting in his seat at the end of the table towards Felix instead of Jisung. “Can we go home?”
“Fuck yes,” Felix agrees, raising his glass and downing the rest of his drink before he glances at Jisung, then Minho with a suggestive smile. “Wanna come?”
Minho laughs, but he feels his ears heat up at the implication, smiling at Felix who starts getting up, presumably to go tell their manager they wanna leave. “Not tonight.”
“Mm, maybe next time though?” Felix smiles, brushing fingertips against the nape of Minho’s neck as he passes.
Seungmin pretends to gag across from them, but Jisung’s lips are parted, eyes a little hooded as he stares after Felix, then back at Minho.
“Wow,” he mumbles, probably to himself, and Minho laughs again, standing up too as the other end of the table quickly starts getting ready to leave.
Jisung is wobbly as he stands, and Minho hurries to wrap an arm around his shoulders to steady him as they start walking.
“Hyung, I’m so sorry, I-” Jisung starts, unable to keep his voice low enough for this conversation.
“Shh, it’s okay,” Minho reassures, smiling as he watches Hyunjin cling to Felix in front of them. “It was hot.”
“... It was?” Jisung asks, and Minho senses him blinking those big eyes at him, but he’s focused on getting out of the restaurant in one piece and doesn’t look back.
“Yeah,” Minho agrees, smiling as they come out into the hot summer night. “I wouldn’t mind seeing that again.”
“You-” Jisung starts, then trails off when he understands. “Oh.”
“Let’s talk about it when we get back home, okay?” Minho smiles, then pushes Jisung into the car before he can say anything else.
When he looks up, he finds Felix smirking at him from the other side of the car.
