Work Text:
Sae shifts, kicking off the blanket covering his legs. It was way too warm and uncomfortable.. Moreso, there was this irritating sound that was not allowing him to doze back into sleep.
He’d slowly open his eyes, only to instantly cringe at the sunlight peeking through the window on his left, and shut them closed right back. He accompanied that with a sharper move of his head towards the opposite direction, which made him very aware of how heavy his head felt. That got the room spinning in the same direction— he doesn’t feel like he got any rest last night.
Maybe he should have watched his alcohol intake better, because he sure is reaping what he’s sown.
Opening his eyes again, it only takes a glance around for it to become clear that he is not laying in his own bed. The room’s layout is foreign to him, but he senses a familiar scent.
..No, it can’t be.
With a newfound sense of urgency, he finally gets up from the bed he’s spent the night on. Seemingly too urgent, because the room started spinning once again as soon as he stood up straight. While grabbing onto the nearest flat surface to steady himself, he knocks something down.
A sigh escapes his mouth, he really can’t catch a break, can he?
After regaining his balance, he bends down to pick up what seems to be like a cap. And upon further inspection, he spots a familiar rabbit plastered on top of it.
..It seems he truly cannot catch a break.
After placing it back in its original spot, he steps towards the door that was cracked open. However, while passing the closet in the middle of the room, he catches a glimpse of his reflection. Turning to face the mirror, he scans his appearance. His hair was a mess, and the shirt he was wearing was a few sizes too large..
And had the exact same rabbit plastered on the front.
His eyebrows furrowed.. what the hell was going on?
..Even worse; his pants were missing.
Thankfully, the shirt was long enough to hang around his thighs.
Finally leaving the room, the Itoshi figures that he’ll shower and do the rest of his routine later. In the comfort of his own home. For now, he follows the off-key tune that’s been bothering him ever since he woke up. Truly like a mosquito in the midst of summer, this guy was. Irritating and waiting to latch onto whatever of you he can, huh?
Sae then steps into what looks like the living room. There, resides a couch. Definitely too small for one to rest properly. Despite that fact, a messed-up blanket and a pillow rested on it.
His shoulders relaxed just a bit.
He found that rabbit in the next room over, which was the kitchen. He was all ready to confront him about whatever the hell was happening. Or has been happening, because he cannot remember a singular event leading up to the position he was in.
The other was moving around a bunch, his moves weirdly synced up with the melody he was humming. He was so focused on his task that he didn’t even hear the younger step into the room.
Here, the scent was different.
Maybe Bunny not being aware of his arrival was also influenced by the sizzling provided by the pan.
Turns out.. he was cooking.
Stepping closer to the kitchen table, he spots a glass of water accompanied by two pills, and a note. The paper read— “Take these. They'll help!”. Next to the message, a badly drawn bunny with the same scar. How childish.
His eyebrows furrow, and he clicks his tongue. If this rabbit thinks he’ll just take any pills blindly, he’s damn stupid.
“Dios Mío, Sae! You scared the shit out of me!”
Ah, it seems that he has finally alerted the other. He slowly looked up, making eye contact with him and finding that familiar grin he always wears. Bunny’s gaze scanned him up and down. He must have noticed his hesitation towards the medicine provided, because he adds;
“Tranquilo, Sae. It’s just some ibuprofen and magnesium. For your hangover.”
Sae raised an eyebrow. “How do you know I'm hungover?”
That earned a chuckle from the taller, who already turned around and carried on with his business.
“Are you joking? You couldn’t even tell me your address last night.”
Ah. That explains why he wound up here instead of his own home, huh? However, knowing that wasn’t clearing out all of his worries.
He’d sit down.. after all his head was killing him.
“What the fuck am I wearing?”
Bunny turns around again, scanning him up and down as if it’s the first time he’s seen him.
“Ah, I couldn’t find any matching pajamas. You don’t mind though, do you?”
Of course he does. It’s not everyday you wake up in someone else’s bed, half naked, wearing their merch.
“Obviously that wasn’t the reason. Hence you didn’t bother giving me pants at all.”
On the other side of the kitchen, Iglesias let out a confused sound, almost sounding offended.
“Huh? No, I gave you pants. You must have kicked them off. You did put up a fight, after all..”
Bunny ended that sentence with a chuckle, which only made Sae more uncomfortable.
What does that even mean?
“And my clothes?”
“Oh, you don’t remember..? You spilled alcohol all over yourself, so I threw those in the wash.”
..Ah.
Sae visibly deflates, and his gaze shifts to the glass of water in front of him. He finally grabs it, chugging half of it in one go.
God, he was thirsty.
The sound of a plate being pulled out by the other got his attention. He watched him plate whatever he was making, before making his way towards Sae.
He placed the plate in front of him. The contents involved eggs, bacon.. Just an average breakfast.
“..These should help you feel better. I assume your head is killing you.”
Despite his sharp side-glance, Iglesias offered him a soft smile. He then sat down on the other end of the table.
“Are you not eating?”
He finds himself asking before he can think about it too long. Bunny’s eyes go wider for just a second, before falling back into his usual smile.
“Hmm? No, I ate earlier.”
Sae has a feeling that’s not the truth.
He sighed.
Something stirred inside his chest at the jarring realisation that this stupid rabbit not only took care of him last night, but keeps doing it even now. Making sure he takes his pills and eats.
That’s so tepid. Sae would never go out of his way for someone. Especially not when they’re drunk— it’s their fault, after all.
And he hates the way it makes him feel.
He finally reached for those pills, taking them with the rest of the water from his glass. Without any more protest, he grabbed the fork on his plate and accepted it.
He blames his lack of fight on his current state.
An unfamiliar silence settles between the two.
He takes a bite out of his food. Several minutes pass, with Sae eating in silence and Iglesias not pestering him even once.
The food was good. Oddly warming. Just the way he’d make it for himself.
“..This is burnt.”
That earns a bright chuckle out of Iglesias.
“I was hoping you’d say that.”
Sae’s hand froze in his tracks, and he raised an eyebrow.
“You were hoping you fucked up breakfast?”
He notices Bunny’s gaze softens just a bit.
“..Yeah, I guess so.”
Sae bites the inside of his cheek as a smile threatens to spread across his face.
He takes another bite of his food.

After some struggle to find his keys and get the lock, Bunny opened the door to his apartment. It’s hard to complete even simple tasks, when you’re holding someone up.
“Come on, Sae.”
He dragged the shorter inside, the warmth of his home much kinder than the cold outside. The jacket he was wearing was long discarded after someone decided to spill God-knows-what all over themselves, and started shivering like a kitten.
He removed his shoes quickly, but had no hope of successfully getting the other to do the same.
So he let him be, guiding him to his room instead.
He helped Itoshi to his bed, setting him to sit on the mattress, and being relieved that he’s made it this far without unnecessary casualties.
The other wasted no time to lay down, in an attempt to get comfortable.
“Noo, no. Come on Sae, let’s get you changed.”
There is no way in hell he is letting this guy sleep in these clothes. Sweaty, dirty. He already knows that he’ll be hungover as hell in the morning, he doesn’t need him catching a cold, as well.
However, the other didn’t seem to make this easy for him, because his only reply was a loud whine of disapproval.
..He knew Itoshi was a brat, but this really takes the cake.
Ignoring his protests as of now, Bunny started digging through his closet for something for Sae to wear for the night. He grabbed the first t-shirt he found, and a pair of plain shorts.
He turned to the other, and scanned his figure.
Bunny sighed.
God, he was a mess.
Hair shriveled up, his bangs now rested back in their original place. Bunny finds himself thinking that he should ditch the hairspray and wear it like this all the time.
It’s not a bad look on him.
His shirt was unbuttoned under the jacket, and there was a massive stain under his chest. His pants were tight, Bunny noted when the redhead complained earlier, before proceeding to unbuckle his belt.
Jesus.
Bunny let out another shaky exhale, not even knowing where to start.
He sat down on the bed next to Sae, who looked up at him through the tips of his bangs.
“Come on, cariño. Get up for a second.”
Despite repeating himself for the third time, he spoke in a softer manner this time, in hopes to help with his.. persuasion.
Bunny wanted to do this just as little as the other. His heart was racing in a weird way that he was not familiar with.
“Sh..ut up.”
Sae tried, but the whine in his voice was still prominent. He squeezed his eyes shut like it hurt.
..Okay.
Iglesias reached for the other’s shirt, slowly undoing the buttons lined up in the front. His fingers moved slower than he wished, and honestly none of it felt real.
Bunny’s had a lot of drinks, too. The only difference between them is that Sae is a lightweight, and clearly cannot tolerate alcohol.
After undoing all of the buttons, he pulled Sae up, having him sit for just the seconds he would need to peel the jacket and shirt off of him.
However, Itoshi felt otherwise about this. Because as soon as he sat up, he leaned the opposite way; in front. His head hit Bunny’s shoulder, slumping his entire body weight against him.
In that second, Iglesias froze up.
And before he could say anything, the other spoke up;
“Bunny–”
A whine, dragged out like a plea.
..Fuck.
Bunny swallowed, heavy.
He knew that Sae was not in his right mind. And he wasn’t either, which is why his heart rushed like crazy.
His arms wrapped around the other, and he rubbed comforting circles on Sae’s back. Just holding him for a second, it felt nice. It was a long night.. they definitely both needed some rest.
“..Sae. Let’s change and get to bed, yeah?”
Another whine escapes the other.
Jesus, can he not make it any harder than it already is? Slowly, Bunny shifted a bit, and managed to peel the clothes off the other.
Thankfully, while he grabbed the clean shirt, Sae sat still.
“There we go, Sae..”
He spoke before turning to face him again.
The other exhaled, shaky and unfamiliar. When their gazes met again, Sae’s eyes were half lidded. A blush was spread across his features— all throughout his face, ears and neck.
Bunny surely took notice of just how beautiful he looked tonight.
Maybe that blush is contagious.
He didn’t let himself stare, and pulled the shirt over the other’s head. Sae seemed to approve of this, because he laid back down instantly, and a more relaxed look replaced the one on his face.
Bunny, also, didn’t let himself think about how good Sae looked right now. In his bed, wearing his clothes. Whining and—
Next were his pants.
With his belt already unbuckled, Bunny didn’t have much work to do. He pulled Sae’s shirt up just enough to reach the hem of his pants.
When his cold fingertips ghosted over Sae’s warm stomach, he flinched.
"Sorry—” Bunny whispers, as an attempt to reassure. But it’s hard to get along with someone drunk out of their mind. Especially when you’re not exactly sober yourself.
“Can you lift your hips for me, cariño?”
Bunny tries again, in hopes it would have a better effect.
No whine came this time, surprisingly so, as the other did as instructed.
“Good job.. we’re almost done, ‘kay?”
Bunny quickly and easily peeled his pants off, then grabbed the pair of shorts he had prepared.
However this didn’t prove as easy.
Because as soon as he tried, Sae also tried kicking away at it.
He sighed.
Bunny’s hand landed on Sae’s thigh, absentmindedly. His thumb once again traced circles against the warm skin, in an attempt to calm down the other and get this over with.
“It’s just pants, Sae. You can sleep after this.”
It’s no use.
After a couple more minutes of back and forth, Iglesias managed to help the other into the pants, as well. Although he has a feeling it’d prove pointless, since they were way too large on his smaller frame.
He guided Sae to rest properly on the pillow, then pulled the blanket over him.
He looked so peaceful now, unlike the moment they arrived at his apartment.
Satisfied and relieved, Bunny gathers the discarded clothes he removed from this sleeping beauty— and throws them in his washing machine.
Setting up for the night, he grabs a spare blanket and pillow and settles on his couch.
..God, his head hurts.
As soon as his head hits the pillow, he falls into a peaceful sleep.
—
“You say that.. but you’re still eating.”
He tried so hard to not tease. But after everything that went down, he misses the banter. It wouldn’t be them.
Sae clicks his tongue, as if it can wash away that faint smile that threatened him earlier.
“I’d feel worse if I took those pills on an empty stomach.”
Sae always had what to say. It’s like he has a script of comebacks that make him look indifferent about everything all the time.
Luckily enough, Bunny’s spent enough time in his proximity to know what he feels like before he even opens his mouth.
“Is that so?” Bunny pushes.
“That so.” Sae shoots back without missing a single beat, then places a piece of bacon into his mouth.
It only makes Bunny’s smile wider.
He’s glad that they’re still.. them.
Halfway through his food, Itoshi pushes the plate back towards the other. Bunny stares down at it, before staring back up at his teammate.
“Eat. It’ll get cold. Then it will truly taste like shit.”
…
Bunny chuckles, and grabs the fork.
Turns out, he’s not the only one looking out for the other.
After taking a bite, he realises; the food wasn’t burnt at all.
He shoots Sae a glance. Itoshi had his arms crossed now, and he simply raised an eyebrow. Almost a warning, that gaze was. So Bunny kept to himself, relishing in all these hints Sae drops like crumbs.
They’ll be alright.
