KITT is Non Binary (masculine leaning) and Gay. He prefers He/Him pronouns, but doesn't mind They/Them or It/Its.
KITT has AuDHD (I have no idea how this would work considering the fact that he's a supercomputer AI planted into a car, but I honestly don't care about coming up with an actual explanation, it just makes sense to me and that's it).
Bonnie is the closest thing to a mother figure that KITT has.
There have been several times where KITT accidentally called Bonnie "mom" without realizing it, and he became embarrassed every single time it happened. But Bonnie doesn't mind it at all. In fact, she's actually honored that KITT even sees her that way. So, over time, KITT started doing it on purpose (but he still doesn't do it very often).
Sometimes KITT listens to ABBA with Bonnie. She actually introduced him to the band by complete accident.
KITT has a big love-hate relationship with rock music. This is because he simply isn't a fan of the genre, but he also just barely tolerates it purely because Michael likes it. He still complains every time Michael listens to it on the radio, though.
When he's alone, KITT tends to listen to music on his radio.
Even though KITT and April became close over the course of her working for FLAG, his relationship with her never reached the closeness that he had with Bonnie. April was more like an aunt to him, rather than a mother figure.
When the original Super Mario Bros. game was released in the US, KITT played it on one of his cabin monitors.
Honking is essentially ''swearing'' for cars. There have been several instances where KITT chased after a bad driver and honked at them continuously. Michael was very confused by this, since KITT refused to tell him why he did it. But, thanks to Bonnie telling Michael what the honking meant (because she knew about it), he eventually learned what KITT was actually doing.
While KITT usually swears via his horn, he also swears normally. Michael doesn't know about this, but every time they finish a mission and he leaves KITT alone for a period of time, KITT cusses the ever-living shit out of Michael for everything he fucked up on the mission.
When KITT is angry, he tends to revv his engine (similarly to a dog growling). He also ''purrs'' with his engine when he's happy.
Even though Michael, Bonnie and Devon all know about KITT's fear of flying, only Michael knows about his giant fear of forklifts (which was caused by the events that happened in Junkyard Dog).
Soon after the events of Junkyard Dog, KITT started to struggle with suicidal thoughts, due to his fear of not being good enough for Michael anymore. At first he thought they were actually some kind of malfunction in his system, so he tried to ignore them, but they just got worse. Eventually, KITT figured that if the thoughts really were a malfunction in his system, Bonnie probably would've noticed them (regardless if he mentioned them to her or not). So, he finally decided to do research, and soon after he realized what they actually were.
Soon after his realization, KITT finally told Michael about his suicidal thoughts. By then, it had been roughly a month since the events of Junkyard Dog. To say the least, Michael was absolutely devastated when he found out and he comforted KITT as much as possible. And, even though Michael had been pretty much constantly praising KITT before any of this even happened, he started doing it even more than before. When KITT questioned the reasoning for this, Michael told him that it was just because he wanted to. But in reality, he was doing it purely to see KITT happy.
Sometimes KITT has panic attacks due to having flashbacks of the acid pit.
KITT rarely has his headlights out on purpose, because he knows that they remind Michael of the time he was shot and almost died.
While KITT does appreciate gifts related to the fact that he's a car (fancy new oil and whatnot), human gifts (for example the blanket Michael gave him) actually mean a lot more to him.
KITT stims by either doing donuts or repeatedly moving his front wheels left and right very fast, essentially wiggling them.
KITT technically has 3 eyes. While his Anamorphic Equalizer is supposedly his main ''eye'', his pop-up headlights basically function as eyes as well. The reason he rarely has them out (with the usual exception being nighttime) is because the scanner already gives him the equivalent of a human's vision with both eyes open, the headlights just give him a tiny bit more vision. If he had the headlights out all the time they would just end up hurting his main ''eye'' due to the constant light (essentially like a flashbang that never stops).
Even though KITT obviously can't dance like a human would, he has managed to pretty much invent ''car-friendly'' ways to dance. One of these ways is to lower the suspension on his right side, raise it back up, lower it on the left, raise it back up and repeat (essentially like as if he was moving side to side). The second way is to lower his front suspension, raise it back up, lower his back suspension, raise it back up and repeat. The third way is to open his right door, close it, open his left door, close it and repeat this process while also making a ''blinking'' motion with his headlights by repeatedly taking them out and then hiding them again (if you've seen the gif you know what I'm talking about). Obviously, any part from the 3 specific dances can be taken and combined into one singular dance, but these are the basic ideas for each one.
KITT is actually pretty good at singing, he just rarely does it. But when he does, he usually puts little effort into it, since he doesn't want Michael to think that he's bad at it. So, he purposely tries to sound bad to avoid having his feelings hurt.
When KITT wants Michael's attention, he tends to nudge one of his legs with his front bumper.
KITT is ticklish under his front bumper. Michael knows about this and he tries to tickle him there as much as possible. KITT always tries to drive away to escape, but Michael chases after him every single time.
KITT is able to feel itchy to an extent. But obviously, he can't reach the itch himself, so he always asks Michael to scratch it for him. Out of his entire body, his hood gets itchy the most.
If someone asked him about it, KITT would most likely deny it, but he absolutely loves following Michael around like a giant metal dog.
KITT can essentially stretch like a cat using his suspension. He's able to do this by lowering his front suspension, raising it back to normal after a few moments and then lowering his back suspension.
KITT is technically able to blush. When flustered, his scanner becomes brighter and moves faster (yes, his scanner is simultaneously still his main "eye", don't ask how this works I honestly don't know and don't care).
While KITT isn't able to actually ''sleep'' due to being a car and all, he tends to at least turn off his scanner and lower his suspension to ''look'' like he's asleep.
KITT can ''yawn'' by opening his hood.
The equivalent of a massage for KITT are the giant rollers in car washes.
KITT's favourite flowers are red carnations, specifically because of their symbolism.
