Work Text:
I write, read, and think
Writing as my expression
To leave an impression
Of my feelings through words
To be heard
Again tomorrow
Stories are a retelling
Of actions and the passion that follow
Of emotion I've yet to let go
Of replies I yearn to know
Writing stories as a retelling
The completion of unmade memories
The conclusion to restless thoughts
The words showing what it means
What actions often not
Reading is finding yourself in people you wouldn't normally be
Read to find a relation
To find the right piece
To quell a temptation
The need to embody the words
That can tell my story and its afterwards
Through common language, I find peace
A book to a reader
Is like a job to man
It's unnatural, one without the other
Like an arm with no hand
Where the words meet the page, to me
Is where I can set my own tone,
Use my own eyes to read
Implications follow the logic of mine
The plot follows my own time
To read, one can be in control, be fulfilled
Creating a voice without the need to speak
To think is to know yourself
To think is to show that you can be
Using thoughts as your own voice
To make your own choice
To think for your own is necessary
Though some disagree
Scared of the possibilities
They say, to think isnt to know yourself
To think is to create unease
Unease creates inner turmoil
That akin to a raging ocean
Though an ocean can be soothed
Through more entropy and commotion
I believe that to think is to understand
That thoughts are meant to spiral
Because in the eye of a whirlpool
Theres calm, disproving the oceanic tidal
I think, read, and write
Spontaneously,
Without reason,
No logical 'why'
Based on a feeling, I write
Poems
stories
Journal entries
My only why is through emotion,
To create, convey, and visualize
I think to dissect,
To attempt
to find a meaning
When the right meaning doesnt exist
I think to understand my actions
My own behavior through what I'm seeing
With my thoughts as a sail
A boat fighting against water
I control my direction
Whether I dive or falter
To read I allow myself to be real, to realize
To put myself in the shoes of those
I wouldnt have naturally picked otherwise
Then take that mindset
Throughout the events of a story
To understand their why
What makes their actions important
In that, im able to discern
What to do in my own events
The new options I have due to what I learned
The new ideas I have to dissect
I write read and think
Through such I am able to express
My personal image, opinions, wants
What I wouldn't verbally if I had the intent
To write, read, and think
An abilty most don't respect
Is my language, a voice
For me its all I get
Though hidden, I try to understand
A self that others
May never if they havent met
