Work Text:

“Ugh that Spokeishere kid,” Lettuce grumbled as he speed walked through the hallways, his hand gripping the handle of Executioner. He equipped his elytra and flew. Flew all the way to Capital city where Spokeishere was there terrorising citizens.

———————————————

It was already too late. The TNT had gone off and Spoke stood in the middle laughing. Lettuce had tried to pursue him but of course he had an enderpearl stasis chamber stashed somewhere in the server. God dammit.

So of course Lettuce was mad. Of course he was annoyed and frustrated. And of course, when one is annoyed you need to vent.

———————————————

Wemmbu’s eyes lit up when he saw Lettuce enter the room. His tail flicked expectantly.

But what met his eyes was the glare from Lettuce’s angry eyes. Wemmbu gags, coughing saliva.

The kick had hit him directly in the solar plexus and fuck, it hurts “—LIKE HELL! WHAT THE FU—!” Another one straight to the stomach.

“You and your FUCKING FRIENDS—,” Lettuce tries to stomp on Wemmbu’s face but was blocked by his arms—he finds it maddening but is too annoyed to care and continues—“don’t you annoying tyrants have anything better to do?”

“Blowing up Capital city!”

“Causing mass massacre.”

“People like you don’t even deserve freedom.”

“…”

“That’s why the LAW was made.”

“To capture FUCKERS like YOU and bring them to justice.”

The fuck did I do?? Wemmbu flinches at the ongoing barrage of abuse. His arms were already stinging and his stomach was hurting like hell. What did I even do? I was just—fucking shouldn’t have trusted Lettuce. Why am I so naive? Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. FUCK! What the fuck. What the fuck, what the fuck?

Lettuce leaned in, his hands gripping onto the roots of Wemmbu’s hair, pulling his face up to look at him. “You’re so pathetic Wemmbu.”

“A lost cause.”

No. No, no, no. I’m not. No I’m not. I killed 1000 players. I-I-I’m strong. I’m not a lost cause. Wemmbu glared at Lettuce, saliva dripping down his chin as his teeth gritted against each other relaying the message: I killed your army, bitch.

Lettuce throws the hair down with force, Wemmbu’s eyes tearing up from the pain. His head facing the concrete flooring, his pupils dilating in fear, anger and everything in between. A rough, strong push had his face kissing the floor, Lettuce’s foot resting on his head, grinding Wemmbu’s face to the floor.

“Fuck you.”

Lettuce grins. That probably had enough venom to down multiple elephants, scathing enough to scare away anyone.

He grabbed Wemmbu’s left wing, applying pressure onto the wing. Wemmbu’s mouth snapped shut, his face expressing discomfort, his tail twitching to the side. With one swift motion, in a second, Lettuce snaps it. “Ffff-FUCK, YOU BITC—!”

Wemmbu shrieks, his claws instinctively scratching at Lettuce’s hand, drawing droplets of blood. Lettuce bites his lip but continues what he was doing. He continues applying pressure, the wing bending even more, the pain causing Wemmbu to scream, to scream until his throat was sore, until it was raw and hoarse.

Lettuce finally releases his grip, a red flush on his skin, an elated look in his eyes. With an intense expression, he grabs the other wing and cracks it, causing Wemmbu to cry out, tears flowing. A guttural scream erupted as Lettuce let out a breathless laugh, his smile twisted and feral.

With that, Lettuce kicks Wemmbu back against the wall and walks out, a little flushed.

Wemmbu leaned slump against the wall, his eyes dull, his expression numb. His finger twitched as soft sobs wrecked his body. Wemmbu brought his legs up to his chest as he curled up into a ball and cried himself to sleep.

———————————————

“IT‘S BEEN 2 MONTHS THEO! TWO. MONTHS. WEMMBU’S BEEN GONE FOR 2 MONTHS AND NO ONE, NO ONE, KNOWS WHERE HE’S GONE.”

Theo scratched his head, “I don’t think it’s that deep, Parrot.”

“IT IS THAT DEEP! WE NEED WEMMBU.”

“No we don’t, Parrot. I can just TNT-cart them away! ‘Cuz I’m the biggest bird,”

Parrot bristles at Theo’s words, “You’re not, you dumbass, I’m the biggest bird.” He sighs and runs a hand through his hair (or feathers?) a frown on his face, “Flame told me to be calm about it but that was 2 months ago.”

“What if Wemmbu was captured?”

“By the LAW? No way.”

“Okay bro.”

———————————————

Lettuce left Wemmbu in a state of shock, pain and suffering, the once proud demon of the skies reduced to mere dog on the ground. His wings which were once vibrant purple and well cared for, slumping to the ground ruffled and clipped after Lettuce’s ministrations.

Wemmbu had started to question his existence. Why is he alive? Why was he born? For what purpose did he go onto this path for?

Minute…

Wemmbu’s eyes teared up as he curled up into a ball, biting his lips and breaking the skin, drawing blood.

———————————————

The cell door opened with a clang as Lettuce strutted in once again the next day. The moment the clang was heard, Wemmbu had already shrunk against the wall of the cell, curled up and terrified. His eyes peaking out from beneath his disheveled hair as he cowered in fear before Lettuce.

Lettuce smirked then bent down to Wemmbu’s level and smiled.

“Wemmbu, Wemmbu, my sweet, lovely Wemmbu, how are you doing?”

Wemmbu didn’t reply, his dulled eyes staring at Lettuce warily, his eyes red and swollen from tears.

“Oh dear Wemmbu, that's not how to speak to me. Do you want me to break your wings again?”

Wemmbu bristles at that, his eyes widening, his hand trembling.

“No…anything but that..please don’t…”

———————————————

As Parrot stared at the podium on which Lettuce was standing on, his eyes travelled to the mysterious figure whose face was draped in a veil.

Parrot’s eyes travelled down and he could feel Theo by his side, gagging.

Because their wings…

They were mutilated beyond measure.
