"You get it though, right, Pearl?" Scar was looking at the sky as he spoke. He tried to force his tone to at least slightly resemble something light-hearted. Not whatever strained tone his throat seemed to so desperately crave. He tried not to focus on the fact that he felt Pearl's eyes digging into the back of his head. After a moment, Scar turned to face the other. Her expression was grim, and he practically felt a chill go over him as her eyes focused on an area on his shoulder. Scar couldn't help the way his expression dropped at the sight of, what he could only assume to be, pity on Pearl's face.
"...No." One word, and a simple pause. Pearl looked away briefly. She wasn't looking at him, but... he still felt like... "Scar... I-... I don't."
Gosh, Pearl was at a loss for words...? Maybe he really was going crazy.
