The promises we made

Summary:

Promises can’t be broken and if they will be the consequences are severe.

Work Text:

Right outside of the faerie kingdom two cookies were happily running around trying to catch each other. It was a loving sight to witness, young love indeed was a beautiful thing. The couple had been playing around for quite some time. They barely saw each other because of the fact that their relationship was strictly forbidden.

A henchman of deceit and a silver tree knight.

If that ever came out it would be a disaster, both of them would have betrayed the very thing they were proud of, one his loyalty to his master and the other one the loyalty to his kingdom.
But both of their eyes sparkled with pure adoration and love for each other.

The cookie his black eyes had light in them, not the fake light he would have in them when he was doing orders for his master, real light that showed his love to the faerie cookie in front of him whose eyes shined just as bright as the moonlight.

They loved each other dearly and you couldn’t deny that but what they were doing wasn’t acceptable.

“Come and catch me sapphy!” The faerie cookie said excitedly as he flew in the air. The other cookie pouted playfully and put his hands on his hips.

“Oh well this is not fair! My wings are not as advanced as yours are!” He yelled at the faerie cookie but their was no malice in his voice.

The faerie cookie let out a soft, comforting laugh as he lowered himself back to the ground.

“Okay okay that was unfair, but last time you just teleported away!” Silverbell cookie said, black sapphire cookie laughed and leaned in to give his dearest a kiss on his lips which quickly silenced him and he followed along.
Both cookies got lost in the moment and just like before they weren’t thinking about the future.

They pulled away and started deep into each other’s lively eyes.

“Promise you’ll love me forever, promise me that one day you’ll leave his grasp?” Silverbell cookie said. Black sapphire cookie reached out and got some hair out of Silverbell cookie his face.

“I promise, and if I’m lying you may shoot me down yourself and take my body with you as a memory of a promise I broke”
he said and the faerie laughed as he hugged the cookie and rested his head on his shoulder.

“I will keep that in mind” he said.

“You promised!” The faerie cookie said through his tears, the cookie that had sworn to love him forever was lying on the ground with an arrow pointed to his head. He didn’t say anything, he didn’t do anything. He had told multiple lies before but they hadn’t hurt as much as this one.
Loyalty over love, his master over his lover, his life for a broken promise.

“You shouldn’t have trusted a cookie of deceit, my love. I am not to blame” black sapphire cookie said as tears filled his eyes.

He had made his choice and this were the
Consequences of his actions.

“Just so you know, the eons I had with you were the happiest of my life” he mumbled before everything went dark.

The faerie cookie stood there trembling, jam had splashed on him as he had fired the arrow right into the cookie he had once held dear, tears were now flowing freely as he looked at the limp dough now pierced with his silver arrow.

One promise was broken that night and one was kept.
