Chapter Text
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Michael was staring at the picturesque scenery laid out before him, his father’s magnificent creation, the earth, as he called it.
Michael was still figuring out everything about it. This was his sixth day of existence. There was much to learn, more details to play attention to. There was beauty in this complexity. The holiness that is life thrummed through every bit of it.
His father was of Light; The Light. And he had a sister, of Darkness ; The Darkness. Both invoked fear and respect, two omniscient beings that were beyond the limits of comprehension of anyone in creation. The dominion over earth was divided into two, called the day and night. Respectively belonging to his father and his father’s sister. Together they were The Life, the foundation for everything in creation, two balancing forces that existed in everything and through everything.
Then there was someone else too. An equally powerful being that was of no kin to him or his father or the heavenly host. It existed on its own; inseparable from The Life, yet an individual of its own will. It followed life everywhere, as if a constant reminder of the inevitable of its fleeting existence. It was waiting, waiting and waiting until its time ran out to claim every being into his grasp. It wasn’t malicious. It was just there. Pale, melancholic and patient. It was called The Death.
Then there were Michael’s kin, his siblings. Thousands in number, every last one of them was willed into being right after Michael. Raphael, Gabriel, Lucifer, Uriel, Metatron, Jophiel, Samael, Zadkiel, Muriel, Castiel, Jeremiel, so and so and so they go, all parts of their gigantic family. Michael wondered if his whole existence would be enough to get acquainted with all of them.
The sun was closing up to the bank of the river that is the sky, bright colors dripping and drenching the earth, some only heavenly bodies like himself were able to perceive. Michael broke out of his trance as he glanced down at Eden. Earth was all set to thrive. As the sixth day comes to an end like this, Michael saw, the last piece of his father’s magnificent creation falls into place. Forged in God’s image was the man and the woman.
And there was morning and there was evening, the sixth day.
