Chapter Text
Boredom wasn't an unfamiliar feeling for Giorno. He often found himself tapping his foot against the hardwood floors of his office, or twiddling a pen around his fingers whenever he was sat behind his desk after a few hours of paperwork, and today wasn't any different. Despite being in this position for over ten years now, he still found himself uninterested at the work he had to do at times. He gazed at the pen in his hand for a moment, before he put it back on the desk. He let it sit there for a few moments, before he turned it into a beetle. A small smile coming onto his face as he watched the small insect crawl across his desk.
The loud sound of his office doors opening had him raising his head, thinking the worst, only to be met with the sight of Mista, looking as laid back as ever. The man had a big smirk on his face, which wasn't an unfamiliar sight, really. The only weird thing was that he wasn't wearing his usual...patterns, Giorno supposed. He was actually dressed a bit normally for a change. He was still wearing a beanie, but atleast it wasn't that other god awful purple one.
"Mista. What's up?" Giorno sat back up straight in his chair, clasping his hands together and placing them on his desk as Mista came into the office and perched himself up on the edge of the desk, crossing one leg over the other and putting his hand on his thigh.
"Well, you've been here a while, and you're clearly not really doing anything."
He started, and then paused. He watched the beetle scurry off to the side of the desk, a small grimace on his face before he shook his head and focused back on the blonde sitting in the chair.
"So, I thought we could go to a club! Y'know, get a drink or two, maybe a date?" He continued, wiggling his eyebrows at Giorno with a grin.
Giorno made a small face at the idea. He never really saw the appeal of clubbing. Maybe it had to do with his childhood, but the idea of being in a room filled with random people alongside loud music and alcohol really put him off. It wasn't his thing, and it wouldn't be his thing. Not now, not ever.
"I don't know, Mista. I can't really say clubbing is something I like." He murmured, and Mista pushed out his lower lip in a small pout. Giorno would scoff at him, but the sight of a twenty-eight year old man pouting was surprisingly funny.
"Come on, Gio! You've never been clubbing before anyway! How do you know you won't like it? And I really don't wanna go alone, man." The man practically whined, and fell back on the desk with a loud thud. His back hitting the paperwork and pushing a few papers off the desk.
Giorno sat back a bit, staring down at Mista's face blankly. Did he seriously just throw himself down on his desk as if it were a bed? The desk was mahogany. Literal hardwood.
"Is your head okay?"
"It's fine. The desk isn't that hard." He replied, waving his hand dismissively.
"You're a terrible liar." Giorno commented, raising an eyebrow.
"It only hurts a little."
Giorno let out a sigh, shaking his head and going back to the previous topic. He thought over Mista's words, and he was kinda right. Giorno didn't know he wouldn't like clubbing. Maybe it could actually be fun? He just wouldn't drink. He had self control. A few bad memories didn't mean this would be a bad experience.
He pushed his chair back, making a small screeching noise against the hardwood floors of his office as he did. He stood up fully, straightening out his suit while Mista got off his desk, rubbing the back of his head as he got up.
"Alright. I'll come. Can't be too bad, right?"
"Hell yeah! I knew you'd agree eventually, Gio!" Mista exclaimed. His excitement was clear in his expression, and it made Giorno chuckle a bit. The older man threw an arm around Giorno's shoulders, dragging the blonde outside of his office with him.
They took one of Giorno's cars instead of Mista's, with Mista claiming that 'chicks dig fancy cars' or something like that. The drive to the club they were going to took about ten minutes, and it became apparent they were getting close when Giorno heard the loud music from the building. It was a Passione owned club, La Rosa D'Oro. There was a giant line outside, but they just skipped it, ignoring the annoyed insults thrown their way. The bouncer in the front recognized Mista but raised an eyebrow at Giorno. The older man looked between Giorno and the bouncer, before leaning in close.
"He's the Don." He whispered and nudged Giorno's shoulder. It took a bit for the blonde to understand, but then he raised his hand, showing the bouncer his ring. The man looked at it and stepped aside, letting them enter.
"Have a great time, signori."
He said with a small bow, and Mista thanked him with a smug grin, quickly dragging Giorno inside the building alongside him.
The inside of the club was exactly how Giorno expected it to be. The lights were really bright, and they were changing colors so fast that he would honestly be surprised if he didn't get a seizure at one point. He didn't recognize the song that was playing, but it was loud, and terribly bass boosted. But what really bothered Giorno was all the people. The entire room was packed, and it reminded Giorno of when he'd have to pretty much fight his way through the hallways to get to his next class when he was young.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Mista spoke, grinning at Giorno.
Giorno turned his head to him, furrowing his eyebrows. "What?" He asked, not hearing what Mista had said due to the volume of the music.
"I said, pretty cool, huh?!" The other man repeated, this time yelling right into Giorno's ear.
It was actually not pretty cool. Giorno thought this entire place already sucked, and he was severely regretting his decision to come. But he just got here, he didn't want to be a party pooper. Not this early.
"..Yes."
"Good!" Mista yelled again, patting Giorno's back roughly as he looked around. "I'm gonna go get us some drinks, be right back!"
"Wait, Mista-"
He tried, but Mista had already left. Giorno didn't know whether Mista just didn't see him trying to pull him back, or if the older man just ignored him. Giorno decided to go with the latter.
Giorno frowned as he was left all alone, but he quickly brushed it off. Mista would be back soon enough, there was no need to worry about it. Or atleast that was his train of thought until he was shoved around by a bunch of random people trying to move. He tried to shove people back, but it didn't really go his way. By the time people stopped pushing him, he was at the other side of the room. He was the Don of Passione. How the hell did he let people push him around like this?!
He couldn't think with all the noise and all the people around him. It was driving him mad. In what world did he think this would be a good idea? He let out a huff of air, and just as he was about to try to move again, he felt someone wrap their hands around his arm. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked next to him, only to be met with the sight of some random woman attaching herself onto him.
"Hey, cutie. You all alone?" She spoke, and Giorno could tell she was drunk by the tone of her voice. The woman was beautiful, long red curly hair, and a short black dress that showed off her figure. He just stared at her blankly for a second before responding.
"Um, not really. I just lost my friend-"
"Your friend? Oh, that's so cute! Is this your first time at a club?" The woman asked, leaning her head on Giorno's arm.
"..Yes."
"Lucky me then." She commented with a small smirk, slowly dragging her finger up Giorno's arm until it got to his shoulder. "Hey, why don't you buy me a drink and...we can have a little chat?" She suggested, a playful smile on her face.
Giorno stared at her in complete and utter silence. He didn't want to stroke his ego too much, but he knew he was attractive. He still remembered how he was constantly followed around by girls at school, and he did spend about an hour on his appearance everyday. But he still didn't expect to get hit on this fast.
"...Uh." He opened his mouth and stammered a little before closing it again. He wasn't 100% sure how to respond. It took a bit, but he was finally about to answer properly, until he caught something in his peripheral vision. Or rather someone.
He turned his head forward, and just a bit Infront of him at the bar, there he was. Familiar white, spiky strands of hair in a loose ponytail that ran down his back, an outfit that had way too many holes that would look utterly stupid if it were anyone but him wearing it, and that deep, jagged scar just on the side of his mouth. Fugo. Pannacotta Fugo.
"Um..hello..?" The girl spoke, but her voice went completely unheard to Giorno.
So Fugo was here. Sitting at the bar. At a club. The same club that Giorno was at. Who would've thought? Giorno was, in all honesty, surprised. He never expected Fugo to be a club person. He remembered one time how Fugo told him he hated large crowds, that they made him anxious. So why would he be at a club? For the drinks, maybe? He was holding a glass of..something. He'd seen him drink once or twice at dinners they've gone to (for business, of course) ,but he'd never think that Fugo was the type to go to a club for drinks. One this crowded, atleast. He figured he'd go to a quieter one or something.
"Excuse me? Hello?" The woman waved her hand Infront of Giorno's face, an annoyed expression crossing her face at the fact that she was being ignored.
Fugo looked really good. He swore he could see some eyeliner on him. He didn't know Fugo wore makeup. It was adorable. He looked adorable. Was he here with someone else? Giorno immediately felt a weird feeling swell up in his gut at the idea of Fugo being here with someone else. He couldn't quite identify the feeling, but he could tell it was there, and it bothered him.
Giorno didn't even realize the woman had left, still too focused on staring at Fugo. He should say hi, probably. Or would it be awkward? He was his boss, and this was Fugo's day off. But they were friends. They'd known eachother for pretty much a decade. It'd be rude of him not to say hi, right? God, he wished Mista were here. If he were, he'd just make Fugo join them instead of thinking too much about it.
He kept staring at Fugo for a while, up until the other man turned his head just enough to spot Giorno. He watched his expression turn into one of slight shock at the sight of him, the two just staring at eachother from across the room. They both stayed still for a while, until Giorno finally raised his hand, waving at Fugo.
The other man slowly waved back, his hand movement a bit awkward as he made a gesture for Giorno to go over there. The blonde walked forward until he was right next to Fugo, looking down at him while Fugo looked up. The white haired man's face was a bit flushed, and Giorno guessed it was from the alcohol.
"Hey, Fugo. I didn't expect to see you here." He spoke, and then looked at the empty stool next to Fugo. "May I sit?"
Fugo looked dazed for a second before finally snapping out of it. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, of course you can sit." He nodded profusely, bringing his glass to his mouth and taking a sip of his drink. Giorno just watched his Adam's apple bob as he swallowed, sitting next to him and making himself comfortable.
"I saw Mista, but I didn't think you'd be here too. Thought he was with some girl."
Fugo murmured and traced the rim of his glass with his finger. Giorno nodded, putting his cheek in his hand as he looked at Fugo. "No, we came together. I just lost him in the crowd." He responded and glanced back at the crowd before turning his gaze back to him. The other man kept his gaze down, quickly finishing up his drink.
"Right, right. Do you want a drink? My treat." Fugo offered. Giorno wasn't planning to drink, but it was just Fugo. One drink couldn't hurt. He smiled, nodding at his offer.
"Sure. Thank you."
Fugo nodded aswell, flagging down the bartender and ordering two more drinks. Giorno didn't really hear what Fugo ordered through the music, but he trusted his judgment.
"So, what are you doing here? I didn't really peg you as the club type." Giorno spoke as the bartender put two glasses Infront of them. He picked his glass up, and recognized the smell. Whiskey. One of the few alcoholic beverages he could stomach. He remembered telling Fugo a while ago. So he remembered, huh?
Fugo pressed his mouth into a thin line, drumming his hands on the counter before responding.
"They make great drinks here. It's one of the few places where the alcohol doesn't taste like piss."
He murmured and actually got a laugh out of Giorno. He quickly snapped his head up, just staring at the blonde as he laughed at his words. He felt his face flush a bit. He'd just blame it on the alcohol.
"Well, I haven't gone to many bars, but I'll take your word for it." Giorno replied, smiling as he spoke.
Fugo just stared at him like an idiot before finally finding his voice. "Right..I didn't think you'd willingly go to a club. Mista dragged you here, didn't he?" Fugo asked, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose as he did.
The blonde picked his glass up, swirling it around and watching the liquid move inside it with a small hum.
"He made a suggestion, and I accepted."
"You mean you felt too bad to say no?"
"More or less."
They both let out a chuckle at that. Clinking their glasses together as they both sipped their liquor.
"You're a pushover, GioGio."
"I'm not."
"Sure. You know he's probably already forgotten about you and is making out with whatever random girl he saw first as we speak, right?"
Fugo commented as he ran a hand through his hair, and Giorno couldn't help but appreciate the sight. Fugo's hand looked surprisingly pretty.
"I don't mind. I've found better company."
He responded, and then watched the white haired man choke on air, raising a brow at the sudden coughing fit. Fugo opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it again so he could take another swig from his glass.
"I..Th-thank you, Giorno."
He stuttered, his voice barely above a whisper. Giorno found his embarrassment absolutely adorable, unable to help the way the corner of his mouth etched up into a smile. He took a few sips from his drink, and then they sat in silence.
They finished those drinks, and then ordered two more. And then more, and more, until they were both completely drunk. They started talking about just anything, Giorno's face flushing just like Fugo's. The blonde watched the other man laugh over a story he'd told him from his highschool days, and the entire time, the only thing he could think about was how cute Fugo looked laughing like that.
Fugo's voice was slightly gravelly, a result of when he'd bitten into Purple Haze's capsule years ago and the virus damaged his mouth. Giorno had fixed everything for him, his skin, his gums, his teeth. But the change in his voice from his vocal chords getting damaged remained, and Giorno couldn't deny that the scratchy tone in Fugo's voice was..attractive. He didn't know why, but he loved it. He loved hearing Fugo speak, and he loved hearing Fugo laugh. He wanted to blame it on the alcohol, but he couldn't. Because even when he was sober, he adored it. He adored Fugo as a whole.
"There you are!"
Giorno immediately snapped out of it at the relieved voice, and so did Fugo. The two men turned their heads and were greeted by the sight of Mista. His clothes were a bit rumpled, and there was a bit of lipstick on the side of his mouth.
"H..Hey, Mista!"
Giorno greeted him. A grin on his face as he turned to look at Fugo for a second, before turning back to Mista.
"Look! I found Fugo!"
He gestured over to the other man, who also had a stupid smile on his face. He leaned forward a bit, running his hand through his bangs before putting his hand on the counter and holding onto it.
"H-Hey..M..Mista."
He said with a small, messy wave. Mista immediately grimaced at the state the two men were in. It was really obvious they were drunk, and even though he was concerned, he couldn't help but find the scene a bit humorous. The dangerous boss of Passione and his right hand, both shitfaced on a random Wednesday.
"..Hey, man." He greeted Fugo, and then let out a sigh.
"How many drinks did you two even have..?" He muttered mostly to himself, judging by the sound of his voice, but he got a laugh from Giorno in response.
"So many! Like..I don't know..twelve..?"
"Twelve?!" Mista exclaimed. Shock evident on his face as he looked between Fugo and Giorno. His eyes were so wide they looked ready to pop out of their sockets. "Alright, come on. We're leaving."
He quickly grabbed both of their hands, pulling them off the stools and forcing them to walk. "You're lucky I didn't drink much, or else I'd just leave both of you here.." He murmured, and Fugo and Giorno just exchanged a look, keeping in their chuckles.
When they finally got outside, the cold air hit both of them like a truck, as they had gotten used to the warm atmosphere of the club. Mista led them to Giorno's car and left them standing there for a moment. "Alright, I gotta say bye to someone. Don't do anything stupid." He warned, pointing an accusatory finger at the both of them before quickly rushing back to the bar.
The two men were now left on their own, standing closely to one another as they waited for Mista to come back. They were standing in silence, a few giggles escaping them here and there before Giorno spoke up
"That was so fun. We should..go out again. Like, you know. Together."
He suggested. A lazy smirk on his face as he put a hand on Fugo's torso, putting his palm flat against the white haired man's chest, feeling his quick heartbeat under his hand.
Fugo just stared at him stupidly for a few seconds, almost looking like a deer in headlights. "Yeah, we should. That was...that was good." Fugo replied slowly. His hand moving to Giorno's wrist, clasping around it.
They stood still, staring at eachother before Giorno moved forward and pushed himself closer to Fugo, closing the distance between them in one swift movement and pressing his lips firmly against the other man's.
Fugo let out a sound of surprise, but he didn't fight it, quickly melting into the kiss. He closed his eyes, kissing Giorno back with just as much excitement as he was.
It was a messy kiss due to the fact that both of them were drunk, their teeth clashing together as they kissed on the sidewalk.
Giorno pulled back after a few moments, letting out a small breath of air. He could only stare at Fugo's lips before he forced himself to look at him properly. They stared at eachother silently, both of them still breathing heavily from the kiss.
"I'm..I'm gonna..gonna go. My apartment is like..ten minutes from here. T-Tell Mista I said goodnight."
Fugo murmured, his expression having a bit of embarrassment and bashfulness both rolled into one. Giorno felt a bit disappointed at how Fugo was gonna leave already, but he decided against fighting him on it.
"Ah, r-right. Goodnight, Fugo. Get home safe."
"Night, Gio. You too."
He spoke and quickly turned around, walking a bit faster than he usually did. Giorno watched Fugo's silhouette get smaller and smaller until he finally heard Mista come back.
"Huh? Where did Fugo go?" The man asked, looking around a bit before his gaze landed on Giorno.
"He left. Said he lives..close."
Mista let out an exasperated sigh, shaking his head. "Damn idiot..we could've just given him a ride." He grumbled and opened the passenger's side of the car, nodding at it with his head. "Alright, come on, buddy. Let's get you home." He said, helping Giorno into the car.
Giorno stared at Mista quietly before nodding and making himself comfortable in the passenger's seat. He spent the entire car ride staring out the window. Watching the buildings and streetlights go by while thinking of the man with white hair and purple eyes.
